The shotgun has gotten pointless, it shoots paperwads and has no effective range. Real 00 shot can still hit about 30% of its shot at 100 yards/96 ish meters. At 60 meters it should be able to hit 50% of its shot. When it first came out you could still get hit markers up to 150 meters, not it’s about 35 meters and takes 4 shells to even kill (if you’re lucky). Add this with the extremely low amount of ammo and it’s useless on about 70% of maps now. It either needs better range/damage or way more ammo.

Shotgun should be as effective as machine guns for close range they should have longer range do more damage and have a faster firing rate. Especially considering there are only two classes you could use it on and also considering that those only two classes that you can use it on have machine gun options for their load out as well.
If they won't fix the flamethrower (no hip firing, insanely slow turn speed while aiming, projectile fire disappearing immediately if you get shot, no spread) then they aren't fixing the shotgun. Tbh the shotgun has other fun bugs, a headshot is possible at 200m, and still explodes the target. Fun but dumb.
I've tested this, and the headshot range is 127m, not 200m. Anything farther and you get no suppression or bullets whizzing by
