I really have to get some anger of my chest now!

Topic: Tanks

Why are you addressing the panther reload time, which is 6 sec since day one when it was released, as a bug now. Never before this was called a bug. I would understand if you want to change the panther to have the same reload time as the other heavy tanks, which is 8 sec, as a balancing act... but this cannot be the case since the 6 sec reload time of the firefly apparently is not a bug.

Speaking of the Firefly..
At least you figured out about the bugged weak-spots in the frontal armor, but has any developer tried to drive this tank.. ever?? Luckily there are no cities on the British maps cause it would be impossible to get around. Why is it that the Firefly has the same handling as the over a year old and removed handling of the Sherman Jumbo.. my guess: you never touched the model since you took over from black matter. The Firefly is unplayable, especially with the new infantry movement speed.

Whoever is in charge of Tanks at Team 17 has a lot to learn about Tank Gameplay. For me it more feels like a side project of Black Matter, which Team 17 doesn´t wanna deal with anymore.

While i am at it i might as well complain about all the tanks issues in hope someone responsible actually reads it.

Rendering distance makes engagements on maps like purple heart lane and Stalingrad really painful. At 300m large impenetrable bushes become invisible and tanks behind them can be spotted ... but not shot at.

Tracks need to be reworked or Hitboxes for small objects on the ground. The amount of time i get stuck on train tracks and some already broken down walls because tracks lose touch to the normal ground and start clipping throught whatever obstacle i want to overcome is just painful.

emoji_HLLCommendation Wish this post was in more polite terms, they'd more likely listen.

@vast seal The Firefly had its hull gun removed in real life, so it would make no sense in the game.

I truthfully would love to offer my knowledge on the issue to help them play better and give them a feel of realism and Accuracy, and hopefully give some asymmetry back to armor gameplay

I think they’re just prioritizing infantry, and cosmetics now. They probably consider tanks to be in the back burner of priorities since again not everyone on hll tanks, and it’s not a lot of people making complaints about tanks. Aside from the fact that tanks speed basically became useless, but not enough people advocating for a tank overhaul for them to care. I’m pretty sure wombat sends them the feedback that’s more popular or common to see in the suggestions. As much as I love tanking we’re a pretty small minority in the grand scheme of things.

And why is there no mg for the driver, they really just gave up on tanks. The British tanks are ruined

There is literally no reason as to why nerf the Panther reload speed, nor the Firefly frontal armor. If it had a poor frontal armor i don't see why it should be otherwise. They could just reduce the cost and cooldown, rework the driving experience for the Firefly and call it a day.

As for tweaks and fixes, either they fix how the tanks behave or temporarily remove physic boxes from railway lines, small stone debris (entrances to gardens in Du Mont and Eglise), etc

Panther is broken and you know it: it moves faster and reloads faster than the Tiger, it turns very easily on 4th gear so you don't even need a competent driver, it gets stuck on almost nothing so you have no need to think about movement (e.g. crossing hedges diagonally), it has a LOT of ammo, especially if you compare it to the Jumbo 76, etc.
The Firefly was historically a Sherman M4 with a British 76mm gun so it makes sense it can be penned by other medium tanks in-game, also it didn't had a hull MG either. It's a nice touch of asymmetry reminiscent of games like RO2, but yes, you're right in that its turning speed is definitely bugged; it has the same issue that the old Sherman M4 had before it got fixed.
In any case, it has enough health to tank 2 heavy tank shots or 3 panzerschrecks, just like any other heavy in the game, so it's not so bad IMO.

Except it doesn’t make sense to be penned by a medium for the hell of it, it’s the most realistic Sherman model in game, if it gets changed to a different model it would fix the armor problem. the other Shermans their armor is all over the place, the strongest version is weak to the guns it’s historically impervious to, the one with all kinds of weakpoints is stronger than the one with out the weakpoints and more armor
