Experimental Branch #1 - Build #2 Live Now

As we mentioned in the release of the Experimental Branch on Monday, we will be continuing to update you all when we push through new builds as well as what to expect when you jump in. I will look to post updates in this #exp-branch-updates announcement channel. Please feel free to follow this channel and add to your personal servers for updates on the Experimental Branch.

Build #2 has just gone live now and you can expect the following:

  • Further Smolensk map improvements
  • Improvements made to SPA projectile motion
  • Improvements to the Killed In Action screen
  • Artillery Squads can dismantle their own OP
  • All maps are now available on the Experimental Branch. This means you can now test artillery squads on different maps to give us feedback on how they perform.

Experimental Branch - Build #3 Live Now

Heading into the weekend, we have released the latest development build of Update 19 onto the Experimental Branch <@&1400831764448149534>.

This one comes with many changes that have come directly from your feedback. We cannot wait to hear your thoughts on the changes.

Here are some of the following changes you can expect.

  • AT Launchers ammo count increased from 2 to 3
  • Ammo Depot ammo count increased from 10 to 20
  • Supply crate added to Mechanic loadout for Crewman
  • Artillery Strike now costs **375 **Munitions > Previously 125 Munitions
  • Artillery Squad reduced from 2 to 1
    There has also been other bug fixes that have been addressed across Smolensk as well. Also, expect to see some more SPA changes in next week's build!

Build #4 Experimental Branch for Update 19 is Live Now

As we head towards the weekend, and the @brisk blaze event this Sunday https://discordapp.com/channels/316459644476456962/1105485222188957716/1441030912107089930, we have released Build #4 for the Experimental Branch. We want to thank you everyone who has been jumping onto the Branch and giving us feedback. We hope you enjoy the improvements being tested with this build <@&1400831764448149534>.

SPAs:

  • Reload times **increased **to **10 **seconds, previously 8 seconds
  • Explosive radius **increase **to 31m, previously 16m
  • Firing range on SPA **increase **to 600m, previously 500m
  • Operational limit decreased from 1200m to 1000m
  • **Removal **of the outpost accuracy system on SPA rounds
  • Velocity of Shells have increased shell accuracy is improved at close range
  • The damage of SPA AP rounds has been slightly increased. Was previously 800, is now 950
  • US Sherman SPA re-textured

Artillery Unit Changes

  • Artillery Units re-increased to 2
  • Both Artillery Observer loadouts come with a flare gun
  • Smolensk has additional sites to build artillery cannons in all HQs - 3 in central HQ and 1 in each of the outside HQ's (for a total of 5 per team)

Commander Changes

  • Commander artillery rebalanced
  • Per strike it is 150 munitions,(was tested at 375 in Build #3, and was previously 125)
  • Increased the commander ability **cooldown **so that it takes 16 mins to recharge

To access the Exp Branch, head to the **Properties **section of the Hell Let Loose app on Steam, then go to Betas, and then select β€˜experimental_branch’.

If you are a server owner you can also move your server onto the Exp Branch to run community games. Speak to your GSP if you wish to do so

It would be great to see players jump in to test out the new refresh to the map, and let us know your thoughts via the Remagen Feedback Form that I'll share tomorrow when we go live.

This will be followed up by another Exp Branch update, likely next week, with a focus on other changes coming to the game including artillery and SPA updates.

Known Bugs & Issues (6th March Build) πŸ›

  • Remagen loading screens and map thumbnails may appear as placeholders or be missing.
  • Some artillery-related issues may occur during this build, including:
  • In some cases, artillery assets may not deploy correctly after a map change.
  • Static artillery may incorrectly fire through certain tall environmental assets.
  • Some placeholder visual assets may appear on certain items. These are debug elements used during development and have no gameplay impact.

wchq_flaregun Flare Gun Clarification

To clear up some questions around flare guns: Flare guns now operate on a standardised cooldown per individual player. This means players cannot bypass the cooldown by switching roles or teams. This works similarly to how supply box cooldowns currently operate.

For this weekend’s Experimental Branch test, please be aware of the following issues that we are currently working to resolve before the next build 🫑

πŸ”Ί [Artillery] Deployable artillery blueprints cannot be placed on several Warfare maps, including El Alamein and St. Marie du Mont.
πŸ”Ί[Artillery] If two players dismantle the same deployable or HQ artillery at the same time, the HQ artillery blueprint may become blocked.
πŸ”Ί[Artillery] Deployable and static artillery blueprints may disappear after a map change from Skirmish or Offensive modes.
πŸ”Ί[SPA] Firing the SPA main armament at high elevation can increase maximum range by 200–290m.
πŸ”Ί[Artillery] Blueprints for Allied and Soviet static artillery are currently missing.

Conquest Testing #2 returns this weekend! ico_HLLSalute

Be amongst those shaping the direction of Conquest, our new mode coming to both Hell Let Loose and Hell Let Loose: Vietnam.
The new branch will go live from Friday running through the weekend on the Steam Experimental Branch 🫑

After sharing our first look at our next map last week, #telegrams message, we are excited to share that the first testing event for the Juno Beach map on the Experimental Branch is currently planned for early May πŸ“†

We hope to see many of you landing onto the Normandy beach with us, as well as host your own testing events when the Exp Branch goes live in May πŸͺ–

We are already working with groups such as the SoulSniper's SOF & DraftHAUS to organise some events for you over the course of the playtest, and cannot wait to share more details with you in due course.
