Setting up a new gamemode on our server. But this error keeps appearing. Removing all npc's and creating a few new ones doesn't fix the problem. In fact, the only 4 npc's on the server right now have been created in-game today and have not been modified.

Hi I'm AutoThreadBot! Don't mind me, I'll just be adding the helper team to this thread so they can see it. A human will get to you soon.

Server Version

Paper version 1.21.8-56-main@65641d1 (2025-08-29T20:44:17Z)

Plugin Version(s)

Citizens v2.0.39-SNAPSHOT (build 3921) -- (:warning:Outdated build, behind by 32)

Checked For

Online/Offline

Offline, but proxied.

UUID Version

4 (:white_check_mark: Online)

Other Noteworthy Plugin(s)

WorldGuard v7.0.14+2339-43997ec

Possibly Relevant Plugin(s)

TAB v5.2.5 - This plugin adds Below_Name scoreboards to NPCs.
ViaVersion v5.4.2 - Mixed client vs server versions can sometimes cause packet-related issues.
HeadDatabase v4.21.1 - HeadDatabase has been known to cause issues with skins.
CMI v9.8.1.2 - CMI tends to mess with a large variety of server features and often gets in the way of issue debugging.

Potentially Bad Line(s)

Starting Minecraft server on 0.0.0.0:25581 - server is offline but has no address bind. This might mean you're using a system level firewall, but if not, it means your proxy is bypassable by hackers. Either enable a system level firewall, or bind your server to localhost in server.properties via server-ip=127.0.0.1.
[22:59:00] [Server thread/ERROR]: [UltimateMenus] Invalid Configuration! '/home/amp/.ampdata/instances/Prison01/Minecraft/plugins/UltimateMenus/menus/warps menu.yml' has an invalid configuration. :warning: Log contains error messages.

Update Paper

Paper is a higher-performance alternative to Spigot that is 100% compatible with the equivalent Spigot version. It's much easier to update than Spigot itself, and carries a lot of performance and quality-of-life benefits.

Latest Paper builds are at https://papermc.io/downloads/paper.

(If you would prefer to use a Spigot build, refer to !update spigot).

You shouldn't reload plugins unless they specifically tell you.

#

Generally, theres no reason to reload citizens.

#

There are rare cases.

visual lintel
#

Okay, then I just won't reload the plugin manually.

visual lintel
turbid escarp
#

Why are you reloading the plugin?

visual lintel
#

Still, it seems strange to me that there's a command in the plugin that you should not use, and produces errors.
I understand that this is the case, at the moment. But that might be something that needs to be looked into by a dev.

turbid escarp
#

Fullwall is aware of it and will not fix it due to the reload command needing to be sparingly used.

#

Why are you editing the yml files?

#

Actually, what yml files are you editing?

visual lintel
turbid escarp
#

That makes sense, but I must ask what files you're editing specifically and for what purpose?

visual lintel
# turbid escarp Why are you editing the yml files?

Because we're re-doing a gamemode that we stopped doing a few years ago. We want to reuse some settings and npc's from that old file, and that saves file is a mess. So we're just cleaning up the list of npc's.

#

That's mainly it

#

So in short, the config and saves yml.

turbid escarp
#

Hmm.

#

Rare @bitter karma ping, I recall reloading is usually not recommended but how come there isn't optional arguments for reloading configs/saves/etc? Denizen allows this.

bitter karma
#

I don't really see the benefit and nobody has ever asked to reload it separately
