So, I just bought a MacBook Air and I'd like to connect my monitors to it. So I'm looking for a DockingStation setup that I can connect my computer AND my macbook to it. Does anyone has a recommendation for a DockingStation that supports DisplayLink?

Additional to that I have a MSI Z490 Gaming Plus mainboard and actually not sure if it support thunderbolt. Even if some sites say that it does support it and some say it needs a PCIe extension card

I thought Mac you could share your screen to other Mac devices like apple tv.

You can plug in one monitor via thunderbolt

#

Theres a workaround for Air Macs using a DockingStation with DisplayLink

My Mac loving friend who won't shut up about all his Mac devices casts his screen to his apple tv and keeps bragging about how there is no noticable lag.

I think I'll use that for the MacBook only and use a hdmi switch to swap over

I work in office buildings and I get dell dock stations all the time. They use USB c. If you can find out that that works on your Mac I'll mail you one.

from reddit I work with the WD19S for our Dell equipment and it does not support multiple monitors. You need a dock that supports Displaylink. I use this dock from Startech.com https://www.startech.com/en-us/cards-adapters/dk30ch2dep Sorry I tried to get you free stuff lol i have some monitors new in box if you need them.

displaylink is hackware that plugs into USB and uses software layer to fake a video driver and send compressed video over USB + convert to actual display signal

#

i have one for a projector that was easier to run a USB cord to than a video cable

#

no reason it wouldn't work in any ol high speed usb hub

#

This would yee
