I really just wanna be able to have an even width and symmetrical thruster setup with one engine room. They'd all be able to fuel nearby thrusters, but the small engine room could perhaps only give a 25% boost to thrust or maybe none at all - just the compact format and ability to fuel nearby thrusters would justify its existence. The large engine room, on the other hand, would just have a 100% thrust boost. That or have a 6x6 area of effect whilst being a 4x4 room, which would also open a lot of possibilities.

The small one sounds not useful at all, and the big one sounds like just a replacement for regular Er's since you get less crew needed, for more thrusters
Honestly, yes the large is too op, maybe make it have quadruple the crew?
what does this help with
like. 3x3 is already good enough
with 4x4 you can supply 4 mrt segments per engine room? i dont understand the incentive
do you just get to make slightly more compact mrts
I wouldn't mind the 2x2 small ER with the +25% as long as it doesn't stack with the other ERs.
+100% for a 4x4 ER seems rather OP. Can also attach more thrusters to it due to the size. Having said that, I don't know how much of a boost such an ER should provide (+75% seems to make more sense but even 50% would still make it a useful part I think. Same boost using fewer parts).
tbh the power spreading part is the better thing in my opinion
also the 6x6 power spreading area is like... literally useless
or if the power spreading part is like, it just needs to border it which would then make it a bit less useless
tho being able to fuel 5 mrt segments would basically make the ability to make extremely small mrt setups because you dont need to have a 4x4 gap to fit the large reactors in
4 also does that but meh
