For the ion laser a crystal which divides the beam into 2 rays would be good.

Been suggested 100's of times, always been boiled down to simply not merging them in the first place

🥺 Sometimes you don't have a choice to go through narrow corridors... Especially if you want to make ships that have style 😋

Instead of that, having a type of Mining Laser that has a Crystal on it, allowing it to be a laser turret that accepts Ion Beams from the back, and has a much narrower firing angle dual-beam than the Mining Laser has, and has similar damage scaling... but maybe a fraction of the potential damage to ships, with full damage to asteroids?

Only to refine the idea, not actually suggesting this. I think my mining lasers are fine.

that is an incredibly different idea to a laser crystal that splits

#

its cool though try making your own post for it

Nah, literally the same. Technically we already have a laser that "splits" (the mining laser), and the original idea was downvoted, not to mention suggested many, many times, and there's a mod for it.
Apparently you also missed that last line where I literally said I'm not suggesting this, just modifying the original idea so that it might actualy fit into the game.

no, not the same at all?????

#

i did not miss the last line i just think this is so different its not even close to a modification of the original idea

i took your suggestion to mean: a mining laser that takes an ion stream into a reciever crystal, and channels it in a similar way to the mining laser, just more effective and cooler looking
