#New PVP gamemode

I have a cool idea for a gamemode in PVP and I cant figure out a good name for it so just make a name on your own.

How it works:

Its like career but two players on opposing sides of a solar system are set to fight each other and the only ships there are the players, and each player has 3 stations, two supply stations and a regular station (Placed nearby but spread out somewhat) and both players start with a cheap ship and have to gather resources and buy and sell from their station so they can eventually kill the enemy base. This would be a somewhat long-term PVP and would have to be based on more strategy than what is normal. The player doesnt know where the enemy bases are but there are the question marks on the map, which can be anything, even an ambush set-up by the enemy.

TLDR:

Long term PVP gamemode based on more strategy and realtime ship building.

I've thought about an RTS mode like this before, I'd be interested. You could have neutral bases in the middle to capture or even AI Pirate bases to destroy for the resources. The ring of death feature in MP could have a configurable shape and custom maps could be made for it. I doubt something like this would be a priority for the devs but could be cool to have eventually.

Basically; domination but you spend 6 hours mining an asteroid at 1/2 Gamespeed

And after that 6 hour period you finally fight the opponent who already has 4 million budget more than you

Oh I've never played domination because I can't use AI in it and none of my friends have the game, yea the proposed mode would be very time consuming and probably unnecessary if Domination is already a thing, I imagine it would take a long time to implement this and not many people would play it

Domination is a game mode where every player has a permanent set amount of income, for example 15000 / 5 second cycle, and also gain income for every circular point controlled by that player/team and these could be set to say, 5000, for a total of 20000 income when one point is controlled, the goal is to capture all the points on the map, or have the most amount of points before time ends

Generally PvP lobbies are open to anyone joining

ah, that does sound decent, yea I don't really like playing with randoms, still fairly new to the game so I'd probably just get destroyed, wish I could play with AI cos then I could just give them cheaper ships than me to compensate 😄

If there was an ai in domination, it would spam those ships until it has no money left,

There are many guides for new players to get into PvP, Personally I recommend Oneye's guide,

I might take a look but I'm not really that interested in getting better tbh this is just my chill game I play with a vid on 2nd monitor 😄 it'd be nice if you could set a handicap for dmg/hp in mp lobbies just like you can in Career

You could always ask for extra money, players in elimination for example generally only use ships costing 1.5m, you could ask that since you are new, for something more expensive to even it out

I think this would work with a small system size and more players, basically dom but more interesting imo, at the cost of taking more time

Imagine if the game mode also required players to unlock things, it would be further painful
