#fewer but more tactical missions

Problem: All of the missions where it is only go here and kill the target are not very fun. Also, when you defeat the target, but suffered major damage, you are often left worse off than when you started.

Having fewer more intense and tactical missions would definitely make career mode more fun. You are given a short description of the target/targets like

"These two pirates have been raiding our transport ships for a bit too long, one uses their electro-bolts to disable the ships thrusters, while the other has front facing cannons to threaten death among the civilians. If you accept this mission we will send a transport along a trade route that they have been guarding, eliminate these pirates for a reward of XXXXXX and you will get a bonus reward of XXXXX if the transport receives minimal damage."

Then you can use that information to modify your ship/ships to better suit the situation.

having like 3 or 4 of these missions per sector would definitely make career mode more interesting.

as long as the main mission was completed you can go back to where you got the mission and repair/replace all of your ships for a much lower cost than when you first got the parts. This would remove any debris from your ships even if you savaged it to prevent cheating.

Although this would be difficult to make enough unique missions to not be stuck in the same situation as before, overall I think this would greatly help career mode 2.0

It's nice to see another slime in here, Having those type of missions plus better AI and those ships having a better combat-oriented design would make Career better IMO

True, but extended descriptions don't form part of the Roadmap so this post is still valid

The mission I stated was just an example of what I want. Being able to plan ahead for the mission is what I want more of.
