#Problem with energy supply

Subject moved from bugs report to this one :

I noticed some problem while using Ion beam emitter, many crews are litteraly doing nothing when they could just go for battery in reactor.

On the screenshoot we can see that there's avalaible batteries AND crewmates doing nothing, it almost looks like if a crew is actually giving energy to something THEN no one will help him to provide energy. Maybe it's not coded like this but it looks like. Or maybe when a crewmate already moving is assigned to a battery then NO OTHER crewmate can reach it. I don't really know in specific what's going on.

I also had this issue on many blasters supplies.

This can be a critical problem imo because that really hits the main purpose of the game : fighting ships and can change how a fight will goes

After some chats, crews don't work with anticipation, but for simple logistics like this one, I think crews should just be assigned with the energy needed as stats and not just stay in crewrooms doing nothing specially when there's emitter almost empty/already empty.

crewmember anticipation would probably make the game laggy but idk

anticipation could be exploited for shields

I'd assume it might have to do with the issue of using Large reactors maybe? Large reactors give 3 batteries so crew will wait till 3 batteries have been consumed before going to grab power, but because the ones already ordered to feed some amd are already moving are closer there getting the order first 🤷‍♂️

they'll go to grab as soon as 0.5 batteries r consumed

I though they wouldn't over fill rooms so when using a large they will wait till 3 batteries are used, medium 2 batteries and smalls wait till 1?

they don't care how big the batteries r

#

they'lll just waste teh charge

ruby anvil

Ah, well nvm then

I think they just think that the target is fully charged when the target has for example 2 batteries missing but a crew member is already going to get the battery

yea

#

crew can't predict the future

SMH sphyonics is underrated

imho the fact that crew dont anticipate energy/ammo consumption for parts makes the logistics much more interesting, since you can't spam crew to solve every logistics problem you have to use your brain

ye but the crew shouldn't be that dumb

#

they're humans after all

they're so smart that they're dumb

i cant imagine anyone with more than 10 iq working in a spaceship with a 90%+ chance of mortality for slave wages who is mentally sane
