By using cheap diesel fueled generators, You'll never need to spend all your money on Toxic uranium ever again!
And there's no planetary atmosphere so just dump the exhaust right into the vacuum of space!
(Yes there is limited fuel but smaller engines should be more fuel efficient while bigger ones create more power but are less fuel efficient)
Carbon steam engines should exist too, that'd be neat
Size scaling for the engines should go like...
2x3y for the small diesel generator
3x4y for the medium diesel generator
4x6 for the largest diesel generator.
1x1, 2x2 3x3 and 4x4 size exhaust roof and side thruster variants, these would make your engines more efficient the more you add.
Exhaust thrusters would work when the engine is on, if it's not they won't function
Edit: Probably should cover what could happen if they were to get shot...
So, instead of exploding violently like plasma generators, they would explode still but not as much, but would cause a shit load of fires
