Yes that would be great and would increase the lootfun significantly, however, I currently see this only for a time in the game in which there is much more available technology / bluprints. For example, we could introduce not only MK 1-10 variants, but also small upgrades for certain properties of for example weapons & scanners. (Range+, Damage+, Energy consumption etc...).
