I had this issue with my paint contest already, you just cannot give a permanant link to discord attachments outside of discord itself.

cabal ships are fine - in fact cabal style is the most common style used on pvp ships
cancer paint is paint designed to be deliberately difficult to look at
extremely bright and saturated, clashing colours, no care put into actually making it look good

Oh no, cancer paint is something much much worse. There's been arguments claiming we should not give exemples of cancer paint just not to share the technique, but in it's worse form cancer paint is more than able to veil the glow of a large reactor and of any roof sprites regardless, and make it blend so hard in weird camo patterns that makes the ship unreadable
I wouldn't call this cancer paint, that's just bad taste!

As a viewer, I don't know how I feel about this format - there's significant upsides and downsides:

- Matches are less "random" in that you can't get unfairly countered by someone with a significantly worse ship lineup that you would otherwise 100-0 in a fair fight, so the "better" players win more often
- It's really cool to strategize and put yourselves in the shoes of the players to think about what they'd pick
You can also see whether your proposed strategies come to fruition or if they work
- There is more title screen time than actual gameplay, unless every match is a full 10 minutes of rod stalling
The ratio is already bad without this new format due to playing being late or taking a long time to pick a ship
- Players with smaller ship libraries have practically no chance to win - as a viewer this isn't fun because the entire pick time and following match feels pointless as the match outcome is already determined.
- Minor logistical issues/armor distribution in the submitted ships cannot be modified mid-tournament
One of the things slowking could've done in his match vs erin's tb rail as the barge could've been to remove a couple of missile launchers and add armor so the matchup next time would be more favorable, but that was not possible because the submitted ships cannot be rechosen. Also, slowking's chaingun rammer had a bunch of mags misaligned by 1 tile which severely crippled its firepower (this made the difference between beating the noob box and not)
- The total amount of ships any player can bring is fundamentally limited, so there are basically no surprises save for some misleading silhouettes that only last a match or two (I thought erin's nuke ion was a normal ion, for example)

I have played against noob box. I have played against geckige ship too and have beaten it on multiple occasions. Don't teach me how to play this game's pvp I've been playing for years longer just because you're caught up on the latest meta trends.

It doesn't take an oem level pilot to do a literal noob box justice.
A lot of the weird ships I use are perfect fit at defeating these slow ships, as if I was preparing for my whole life.
