What if we have a Google Docs based form for submissions, to a private drive that select tourney individuals can see and use to verify the "date modified" field of all submitted ships? We can have the tournament pre-stream involve Saris showing that tourney ships do not exist in his folder, witness a brief clickthrough of every ship to indicate that their date created+modified is at or before form submission time, and then begin the tournament with the co-host announcing that the independent party says all dates were confirmed to be within rules, and ship upload into the computer drive. If seeing ship internals loses the element of surprise for certain ship designs, then we can have camera blur for all ships in the google drive, or just announce that the third party verified it all without the pre-stream fanfare.

I think Saris' character is very solid, and I myself wouldn't have ever raised that concern for tampering. Personally I would be fine if Saris just joins the tournaments without extra measures too, because I think from a utilitarian perspective, the community loses more from not having Saris around to teach us than from a self-defined risk of tampering from one of our community leaders.

There's also possible holes in my way of verification either, the most glaring to me being that we kept the verifyer's identity private which can result in tampering. We can publicize the verifyer too which keeps a sort of checks-and-balance system, which imo is as good as any tournament can get.

The sake of balance mods is to further refine the game into a more enjoyable state for everyone, so it's a necessary and cool step in my mind to take. Unfortunately the message you're replying to is massively outdated and I forgot to unpin it. As I'm hosting tournaments in an official capacity I'm no longer interested in even trying to participate, as it requires all of my attention and focus to properly host it. I appreciate the sentiment but for the time being if one wants to see a tournament performance from me they'll need to host an unofficial competitive tournament themself

These are the perfered UTC time that CCC players would like to take a match. Among all time, 8:00 p.m. to 11:00p.m. UTC is the time we would like to avoid to match, so we can try avoid that, or perhaps help CCC players avoid that part of the schedule.
Most active CCC players are night owls of some kind already, cause we always need to stay up late to play with enough players. so be free to make the tournament schedule. We can adapt to a wide range of time.

Hmmm hard to say. I didn't played a lot with this TB ion, but it's pretty successful. I usually lose against orbiter walls because I can't get a good ram (but usually orbiter walls are played by experts, like Air, Qawa, you have to take that in the balance). I tried once against a morbiter and I won. Against other Ion ship I usually win (4/5 victory ratio), TB rails I would say 1/2.
But I like this ship not because of victory ratio, but because it's awesome to fly with. It was also really fun to build, putting 12ERs, 4TBs and 6 ion emitters for 3 LRs was challenging, but it somehow works 😉

most tb ships have relatively similar "i can't do jack if i'm a bad pilot and/or don't have good enough thrust" but weapons help against specific archetypes

rails help v walls, cannons help v very fast rammers, ions help v <archetype here>

and also ion ttk is usually shorter than rails in my experience?

once a tb ion gets a good ramlock from tb u just die, for rails u can come back if they don't 1shot

Waste Ships arent that OP, people are scared of them because of chinesse people telling everyone to not evem use them... Those Waste Ships are good archetype, but not as powerful as people think, thats because its simple and easy archetype to build, almost everyone, even begginers can build them. Thats why those Waste Ships use to be "scary" for not entertained dom players, same as it was with Qawa's 6DC Green Rammer, KMC was complaining about how great and deadly it is, thats obviously solid ship and i like it, but thats 438k too easy to lose for its price ....Back to Waste Ships, there is some counters which im using. Mainly thats emps, some 1DC ships, full armor deck cannons and tougher lc ships.

As i said tournaments are great way to learn. Firsts you learn by practicing before tournament, then after tourney you know what you have to change with your ships and strategies.

Well you see, domination requires building like 20 different meta ships that you use depending on the situation, each requiring specific utilization. So you basically need an entire fleet. That alone wouldn't be a problem, as elimination also requires quite a bit of ships, even though still way less (Usually you'd be fine with 4-5 meta ships and would be able to counter most enemies), but the real problem is the fact that you need to know how these different ships synergize with each other and have to use up to 5 ships at a time for the best effect, all at once. Plus good Dom gameplay requires superb multitasking and attention to the entire map, not just wherever only a group of your ships are.

Yeah. RTS and RTT are commonly commented enjoyable to watch but painful to play with. It is quit skill demanding and take some understanding of the game before you can actually start particepating the fun. Though 20 meta dom ship isn't really more work (cause they are small) than 3~5 elim meta, and you can also play with a smaller line up as well (such as 10 meta ships), it is just the tactic understanding that is standing between most other player and experienced dom players.

Well I can promise not to throw waste ships into battle first, it is understandable for people to dislike them I mean, I respect that, even when in tournament. Though there are stored waste ship designs of mine and I won't feel shame to through them back to players who start the waste ship fight first lol.

Also I am pretty sure players such as Przyjem have stored lots of counter tactics to fight them. So when in tournament, they won't be that game-breaking good.

Yeah me too. Basic 4LC have their advantage against waste ships too, and when waste ships are counterable by enemy, basic LC and wasty ones are better used depending on tactic need.

Don't you mean it requires more APM, awareness and quick thinking? You're commanding lots of ships but not manually piloting for the most part.
Regarding piloting, elimination definitely takes the cake in my opinion. It's a lot more focused on the hands on aspect and various manoeuvres

i err on the side of elim being harder due to having played some rts games and just having a feel for what could be done by humans, and the absolute depth of play i've seen with both gamemodes
