#How can I improve the shading on this?

I'll share an image of my Crossbow (for a WIP Bedrock resource pack) as reference.
Imo, the best way to shade is to mimic the methods used in the base game as if they were material/paint palettes.
In other words?
Don't be afraid to compare your item to vanilla items. It serves as good practice.
If there were some darker shading on the red, it would look perfect in my opinion. It feels a bit odd having a flat red texture surrounded by more defined and detailed shapes.
how's this?
WAY better, really nice
In my opinion it's complete unless you want to add your own tweaks to it
