how to resize hand held block?

I'm still very new to block bench and Minecraft coding in general, and I can usually find help on YT when I'm stuck, but google and Youtube have failed me currently.

I have made several blocks now, and they look good and everything when placed down, but you can't really see them when holding them in first person. When you are in third person they look super tiny and are floating away from your hand.

How can I fix this?
Can it even be fixed?
