If it already has a hitbox to stand on but you wanna have the outline when looking at it that won't work most likely cause the item model is slightly larger than the block model to cover it, hence it covers that block outline too.

Which is worded weirdly since the game has no concept of "custom blocks" to begin with. (and itemsadder fakes new blocks as described earlier)

not without making a mod afaik

Yeah that stupid website it doesn’t tell you shit what to do or how to do it

#

Trying to do the layers and that doesn’t tell me how to

It even has an example pack.
What more do you want the website to do?

harsh kiln

the website assumes you know the basics of making a normal resource pack, so it assume you also know how to get default assets

#

or that you use its example assets as base

harsh kiln
#

i am getting the expemple pack and changing it to what i went but all i need to know is how did the get those 2 layers

#

@twilit shadow also how do you add the color weel stuff

FAQ
Minecraft: Default Pack

Disclaimer: Use these packs as REFERENCE, don't put your models inside them, it just increases your pack needlessly. Also don't put any of the unedited files from it into your own pack. The distributions of default assets in your pack is illegal.

For Java Edition:
(This works the same for all versions, 1.17 is just used as an example here)
Go to .minecraft/versions/1.17 and open the 1.17.jar in there with a zip program. Alternativley you can copy the .jar file and change the file extension to .zip and double click it.
Extract/copy the "assets" folder inside the jar somewhere. It contains all the default models/textures.

For Bedrock Edition:
Go to https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/minecraft/creator/documents/resourcepack and scroll to "Building the Resource Pack". The download for the vanilla resource pack can be found right above that title.
Alternatively here is the direct download link: https://aka.ms/resourcepacktemplate

twilit shadow
#

layer_1 is for helmet, chestplate and boots, layer_2 is for pants

#

layer_1 = Armor (Main) in Blockbench
layer_2 = Armor (Leggings) in Blockbench

harsh kiln
#

i KNOW but how can i get the pictures or i need to make them myself from seprate then layers 1 and 2 omg

twilit shadow
#

you mean the item icons?

harsh kiln
#

twilit shadow
#

ofc you need to make them separate

harsh kiln
#

yes

#

so let say i made something like this how would i covert this for the minecraft skin??

#

Is there a way I can get this into layer automatically???

#

@twilit shadow

harsh kiln
#

Is there a way I can get this into layer automatically???

twilit shadow
#

... item icons and armor texture are compeltely and utterly independent of one another

#

you cannot generate one from the other

harsh kiln
#

ohh ok my bad sorry

#

how to you save a color icon you like in your pattie

twilit shadow
#

in your what?

harsh kiln
#

in the paint in blochbench

twilit shadow
#

if you are talking about the texture you click the 💾 icon next to them (or rightclick > Save As)
if you are talking about the color palette, you can save that in the color palette section

harsh kiln
twilit shadow
#

if you only want the actually used colors in that pallette you can use the "Generate Palette" button first
