generally in mirror, a symmetrical plane will use the same uv size and the same location on the map. Can you check are the two planes are in teh right location on your map?
uhm, yeah, they actually aren't
that was very helpful, thanks a lot. I still don't know how to fix that though
Its either something wrong with your mirror setting is wrong, like you set it mirroring at the wrong or too many axises
Or, go to uv and manual shape and drag one of the face uv to be identical as the other one, and put it in the same location
i had a similar question. would the process of fixing the uv in this second method be manual or is there an automated way to make the shapes identical?
I am not aware any tool to do that, but in defult state, block bench can help you snap the vertex along the pixel grid, rather than going into very odd decimals, unless that is what you desire then it needs some other methods
this is a different situation than yoyoyo's.
Yours are entirely mirror modeling product, where one side will have the same shape as the other, and one side will share the mirrored uv of anothers.
Whereas theirs, i think they are only using the mirror paint feature. Which why it's happening is complicated, it could be their model not center, or prolly pivot incorrect, etc...
(for short, mirror model completely delete and clone one side to another,
while mirror paint will mirror action from one side to another)
Yeah that works, but it means I will have to select and drag everytime I want to make a different face texture, and I pretend on doing that a lot, Is there any other way to fix this? Because that is not that practical. Maybe set the part of the texture to the same face? idk how though
yes, that is true, I made a single element and modeled it while doing the same alterations on both sides manually. not even using mirror modelling, just manually doing everything the same.
the pivot is centered only on the x axis, the z axis is not centered, but centering it does not help it. maybe if I delete the current texture and create it again while it is on centered on the z axis?
