how do i export a model but have some cubes hidden

so im trying to make a armor model but i messed up and made it all one model so now i need to export each piece and i wanna know if i can just hit the hide button and then export it or if i have to delete it

hiding it won't solve the issue, only when this piece is untextured, that would make it invisible.
But I believe the best option is to delete the wrong blocks, export it, hit undo and do this for all the pieces
