I can't seem to find the base version .jar file from which to extract the base Minecraft assets for any version, including 1.20. I usually look in .minecraft/versions, but none of the versions have a .jar file in them. Is there a new place to find those jar files, or is there a different way to obtain them now?

Cause it only creates the .jar if you have started the game with that exact version

I've been playing in 1.20 a lot recently. I've even looked in other versions that I know I've played before, no jar files.
Though, after a little search, I did find jar files for a couple versions I know I've opened. I've been using Fabric 1.20, I assumed I'd opened 1.20 already. Perhaps I haven't, I'll open it up and check back in

if you used a different launcher the profiles might have been created/downloaded to a different directory

Fortunately I use the default launcher, I just may not have opened vanilla 1.20 before installing fabric, though I thought you needed to have opened the version at least once.
