trying to paint my model but the areas selected seem too big and i cannot make the brush smaller.
as seen in pictures one and two this is what i am painting with.

Textures are separate from the model. Stretch the UV out to cover more pixels.

where can i adjust the size for the UV

select the face, an outline should appear on the window. then just drag and resize it

the bigger the outline, the more pixels it will take

selecting like this? if i drag it runs into the other parts.. i had it generate as 64x64 would it be better to remake the texture in a larger size?

You could, but you can also just have multiple faces share the same texture space.

So you could, for instance, only draw half the truck's grill and just mirror it for the other half.

i think what i was looking for was the pixel density modifier when creating the texture with the button on the left. is there a way to edit that after it is generated?

Not that I know of. You can just delete the texture and make a bigger one, though.
