#Vanilla boats?

The default boat model can be found under the Minecraft skin project type however, it doesn't include the chest type
(not sure if bamboo has different model, i assume not)
Thanks! I need the model json, though, unfortunately.
you can just convert or export the model from there. I'm not 100% sure it will be rigged the same as the actual model, but it probably is.
The bamboo boat is definitely a different model than the standard one, but not sure you can find the texture even in the newest Vanilla packs, but it should be simple enough to reproduce https://minecraft.fandom.com/wiki/Boat#Gallery
Oh I can export the model from paint mode? I didn’t see an option for it, but maybe I gave up too quickly. The bamboo raft textures are in the preview packs. I’m mostly just trying to get dedicated model information as I know that those are not included in the models folder.
I’ll try the export again later and report back, thanks, all!
Yeah, whether it's the Paint or Pose tab, you always have access to the title bar, in which you can have File > Convert Project
Ok cool, thanks 🙏
Oh that’s a bummer though that the chest models aren’t there
I wonder if that’s in the works
You can mention that in #bb-feedback-archive, but Jannis usually adds the new models some time after each new release. In the mean time, you could just model the ones with a chest, it just seems like 3 extra cubes, and make the UV fit a square texture rather than a 128x64px one
I’d probably be worried about it not working with the animations I can’t examine for bones and such, but that’s a helpful tip, thanks
I don’t know who Jannis is but I’m glad they do what they do
it's the person you can often see online at the top of this Discord's member list, which happens to be making Blockbench
Oh just so happens they’re making it, yeah? lol got it 👌
This worked (I think). I haven’t tested whether it animates exactly the same, but I can vouch at least for the extraction of the model for the plain boat using the method described by Magic Man and Cubouse above.
