Yes, but some mods dont apply. It depends if its a server sided mod or a client sided mod. Server side being that it affects certain ai/gameplay mechanics (like the no mercy mod where it rids the unauthorized use of force on suspects mechanic), and client sided being cosmetics and how the flashlight brightness is.

If someone runs a mod for a certain vest, you wont see that vest on them unless you have that same mod. If someone has the no mercy mod, but they arent the host, then it wont apply to the server, if that makes sense

No one needs to have the same mods, but take for example gunfighter. If someone has the gunfighter additional inventory slot option, that wont work in a multiplayer lobby UNLESS the host has it because it affects gameplay mechanics and not appearance

Guns are server sided, because if you think about it, if someone is running an addon weapon of MCX-Spear, it adds something to game that affects gameplay

Now if someone just has a skin change on one of the vanilla/default weapons, then it will work since the model of the gun doesnt change

its an appearance only thing

Thats why in some lobbys someone is wearing on their screen a fully kitted out uniform but on your screen they're wearing a hawaiian t-shirt, cargo shorts, and mis-colored gloves

Well nexus should generally have more mods and more updated versions of mods than what is on mod.io I don't know many modders that only upload their mods to mod.io since nexus is by far superior considering how broken and unmoderated mod.io is. In any case regardless whether mod.io or nexus mods will not work if they're not up to date. Mods must be uploaded/updated on or after December 10 2024 to work.

i need help fixing tappy+ i switched my check door, point/tap button to F and now when i try change the keybind again it still pretends F is what's set when it's not. i can't interact with anything neither. i tried redownloading tappy+ and nothing changed

Go to %localappdata%\ReadyOrNot\Saved\SaveGames and inside see if they're folders named SBL and SMM if there is than these should contain files for tappy you can try seeing if deleting these files will fix the issue.

Yes as long as host has server side checksum disabled in options but certain mods will require everyone to have to function such as modded maps.

Nope it's cilent-sided meaning nobody but you will see it unless they also have the mod installed. Only type of mods that are visible to other players are ones that unlock items inside the game files.

Well aside from making sure they were uploaded/updated on or after December 10 2024 you can really only slowly take them out of your paks folder till you find the culprit.

i found a really well made voice change for the toc but it uses the old toc

It'll still work in the current TOC folder as long as the files are in the .ogg format it just won't cover all voicelines. Just delete or move the voicelines that are in there now as to avoid having a mix of vanilla and modded voicelines play.

Your problem assuming that you're using fmodel to extract files is that you likely don't have the mapping file which is needed to extract files through fmodel which you can get from the modding guide, also make sure you have UE versions set to UE 5.3 in fmodel.

Hi, I would like to create a mod for RoN but I dunno which version of Unreal Engine it is running at?
I tried to implement one surrendering blueprint asset for AI from a mod which is not mine. I want to alter it and learn how it is done from it.
This asset is not shown in my Asset Library in UE 5.5.1. Which might mean that this asset was made in some previous version.

While writing this, I have already read that Cast is advising to switch into UE 5.3 in fmodel ... hmm okay that might mean this is also answer to my question. Right?

Whatever your issue the update couldn't have done it as it was just back end stuff adding telemetry which wouldn't change any game files that mods would affect. Which can be read here: #patch-notes message

Also if you're using vortex to install mods than if you haven't already tried I'd suggest trying to install them manually as while it may have worked before using vortex is really hit or miss and manual installation is the best way to install mods for this game as to avoid issues.

Well if you've done all the steps here: #❓modding-faq message and it still doesn't work then your next best option is to launch the Clean Mods / Save Data launch option by right clicking the game on steam and going to properties and switching to it in the general section launch options.

BEFORE that I recommend you back up the contents of: %localappdata%\ReadyOrNot\Saved\SaveGames if you do not wish to lose your save data.

Mods generally should not have anything to do with save progress. If, however, your friend installed an outdated and corrupt mod and normal means of removing said mod were ineffective, then they would have to resort to using the clean mods / save data launch option to fix it, which would, as the name suggests, wipe out all their progress.

Anyway, if you're concerned about save progress being wiped, then your only means to counter that is to manually back up the contents of: %localappdata%\ReadyOrNot\Saved\SaveGames by copying them and pasting them elsewhere.

The small maps are easy with 2 people but there are some they are already pretty hard when you have a full team with you.

Thats a game feature mate. Hold SHIFT and then command menu.

at the end its still a game, the ai is there to assist you and you do most of the work. i think if the ai swat clears most of the building for you it will not be that fun to play

yeah. maybe my wording was wrong. So, for example the postal office map. You set Team Blue ready in front to breach on command, and go with Team Red to the opposite entrance and then tell both to breach.
But then it would be nice that team blue will ask you what to do like There's a door in front of us, should we breach or hold? So you have still to decide what they have to do but over comms.

yeah, I mean sometimes it annoys me that you breach from to sides but then half of the team is just standing around. So you just could take your full team with you and just breach 2 different rooms in the same area to not have go back and forth to the teams around the whole building

on small maps the AI is pretty neat. but on the huge map like that Hotel one with a lot of doors is tricky.
Would be nice if they could breach doors on comms-command there because you could just come from the fire-entrance on both floors the same time

yeah try to use it in a way that you are clearing close areas together so you can easily continue to breach multiple rooms at a time and keep going on.

I've been playin the game unmodded for awhile now and decided today I want to mod it and have fun. I'm avoiding the ingame mod menu since I hear its basically broken so I used Nexus. I downloaded some map that was called Last Resort, it was uploaded only a couple weeks ago. I threw the pak file into the Content/pak folder and I still dont see the map on the stage select menu. I even downloaded some other mods and threw them in there yet I'm not seeing anything change at all. Any chance I'm doing something wrong here?

Not sure if theres anything for that specific but i have some mods from the ingame menu that give you tons of health and slots for armor and equipment. If you load up a friends only multiplayer lobby you can play solo without the AI to kill you for killing civs too.

Well if you're using the console unlocker camera mod than the console is usable at the bottom after pressing F2 if you're using simple mod menu than you have to enable the console feature in the menu settings which you open the menu by pressing M

Yea, you can do what Patrick said and use safe mode, but just so it's clear, mods don't prevent/disable the ability to earn achievements or cosmetics and aside from the score saying unofficial on the end screen which it does nothing other than that the rank is still applied.
