any of you guys ever have issues with unlockable customization? i had some of mine unlocked by progressing through the missions but now its locked for some reason even though i already finished most of it with A to S rankings. my presets for loadouts and uniforms are gone too...is it because of corrupted files or something else? i already verified the files and found nothing wrong.

The game already has the SteamWorks Shared redist depo assigned and should be attempting to install it during First Run procedure automatically.

You can still try to install it manually, it'll be in ".\SteamApps\Common\Steamworks Shared\_CommonRedist\DirectX\Jun2010"

Me and my friend @summer flume installed new mods. I thought I checked everything, checked if we had core mods installed for the mods, checked the creation dates, all of that stuff. alright the second I put my gamesaves file copy back in, it started crashing again, but when i had a fresh save the game was actually allowing me to load in and out of the headquarters without crashing which is a good sign

im going to run a clean save and just keep testing if it doesnt crash then good riddance

Try disabling steam cloud. Some mod content get's saved to the SaveGames folder. If you screenshot it I can probably tell you whats what.

Well you can try launching in dx11 and see if that helps any if it does than it's likely just shaders compiling on dx12 but if not it's a PC issue and we can only provide so many suggestions as to what it can possibly be you'd have to diagnose and figure out the problem yourself.

FULLSCREEN AND RESOLUTION SLIDER AREN'T WORKING PROPERLY.

Hello I am trying to run the game in 21:9 3440x1440 in exclusive fullscreen. Previously it worked, but now if I try to run the game in Exclusive fullscreen, it only shows a part of the game, like it doesn't fit the one time and the other time it only shows what seems to be a 2560x1440 resolution, where the game is shown but also my desktop is visible.

also, the resolution slider doesn't work, it doesn't show any resolutions anymore, I can only slide it to minimum or to maximum with no indication of what I am actually setting the resolution to....

The only way I can run the game is in windowed fullscreen, then it works, but I still cannot change the resolution ingame via the in-game slider.

does anyone know what I could try?

Well I run 3440x1440 just fine and never had any problems with any other resolutions and I've used 1080p, 2560x1440, and 4K as well. Perhaps you can set it manually instead by going to: %localappdata%\ReadyOrNot\Saved\Config\Windows and opening GameUserSettings.ini and changing:
ResolutionSizeX=
ResolutionSizeY=

Probably best to also change:
LastUserConfirmedResolutionSizeX=
LastUserConfirmedResolutionSizeY=

Obviously make sure the game is closed while doing this.

DX11 does not preload maps whereas DX12 does, but DX12 caches it whereas DX11 does not.

If you're stuck spawning the shooting range to where you can't get out and reloading the station doesn't work the only way to fix this without making a new save would be to get a console mod and to use it to kill your character with it.

If you're using vortex then you shouldn't be having to move any files anywhere. It does everything for you in the app. So if there's an update you download it and it automatically replaces the old one, but you need to deploy mods again for it to update. And then its a matter of deleting the older versions if you want to free up space

Hi there, I'm experiencing consistent crashes when trying to launch Ready or Not. I've been in contact with the support team via email, and I've already tried the following steps without success:

• Verified game files via Steam
• Reinstalled the game
• Updated graphics drivers (RTX 4060 Ti)
• Reinstalled Visual C++ redistributables
• Ran the game with both DirectX 11 and 12 (-dx11 doesn't launch, -dx12 crashes)
• Cleared local files and mod data
• Removed Mod.io folders
• Performed a clean boot
• Tried launching from a new Windows user account
• Reinstalled DirectX runtime
• Launched the game in Safe Mode
• Logged crashes and sent files to the QA team

Well it usually comes with an error but another possibility is if you use an anti-virus software other than windows defender(Particularly Norton or Avast) it can detect files in RoN as a false positive so if this is the case make sure that no ready or not files are not quarantine and if they are restore them and add ready or not as an exclusion in your anti-virus and verify the integrity of your game files afterwards.

If no crash event is stored, it's usually one of two things:

• Either your game does not have permission to write to %LOCALAPPDATA%\ReadyOrNot, in which case, ensure no apps or system services block the game or Steam, and check if there is a permission mismatch between the game and Steam (either running as Admin but not the other, for example).
• Or the crash happens outside of the game engine (i.e. system or other app killing the game), this can be verified by checking Event Viewer, though if you see the RoN crash error window, it's the former issue

Also, by default for Intel Raptor Lake (13th and 14th gen Intel CPUs):
Update BIOS of the motherboard if you did not do it since October of last year.

As for the RTX4000:

No there is no mods that will make the game run better on a system under the minimum specs.
The game is getting more optimizations with the console release update this summer so perhaps this may help but there are no guarantees.

Things you can try to see if they help improve it:

• Make sure your graphics drivers are up to date.
• Run the game on DX11.
• If you have an intel CPU check to see what generation it is, if it's 13/14th gen than make sure you have the latest microcode and that your bios is up to date.

If you're on DX12 it's likely just compiling shaders so I suggest letting it load even if it appears to be frozen. This should become faster after the first load given you don't change any graphic settings(This will apply to every map). You can try running the game on DX11 if the issue persist.

the fix should be going to the intel extreme tuning utility and lowering the performance core ration and core voltage offset

Keep in mind that uninstalling the game does not remove files that were created or added after the game installed (so no config file, save file or modded files are EVER removed by Steam), that specific error is by default caused by broken mods, see #❓modding-faq for more info.

I have a problem we started (me and some friends) doing S ranks on every map and in some maps (mostly Dorms and Twisted Nerve) we can't find suspect's guns and we can't finish game. The test branch is no longer continued, so it would not be an option in steam properties.

Steam is pretty on top of who owns what, so if the DLC tab isn't saying you own it, then you most likely don't own it. You can check your Steam account > purchase history and go check if you bought the individual DLCs.

As for the in-game code, try to take a screenshot of exactly what you see (without showing whatever code it may be giving).

Sooo, I have bought the DLC maps for the game I think in the X-mas holiday season.
I finally got the chance to play some, loaded up the game.
I have had a 100% completed career, so I hit Continue
The game starts loading, gets to 99% and locks up. Mouse cursor frozen on the screen, and my entire primary display is locked. I cannot even use alt-tab to display anything other than the locked game on the main display.

Thankfully I do have a secondary for discord and such, so there I can open Task Manager to end RoN

How do I get around this issue?
(I have also posted this as bug report on the steam forum on the 26th of April)
I did a steam verify for the game files, it said everything is A-OK.
Relaunched the game, this time it has gone to 100% on the load, but once again locked up.
As much as I love the game, if steam refund policies apply to DLCs, I'd be considering the refund option, as this DLC not only did not launch, but effectively bricked the main game.

UPDATE:
Since then I have also tested disabling the DLCs and then launching Quickplay, but the game still locks up.

For how long did you wait on the screen ? Under DX the game now compiles shaders on the loading screen without it having any UI to tell the user about this process.

Roughly six minutes before I killed it in task manager. Also in task manager RoN was tagged with "Does not respond"

If you have slow CPU it'll take 10+ minutes to compile PSOs.

I don't recall RoN stalling like that beforehand, and it never have frozen up so bad to even block the mouse cursor. It is an i5 CPU, MSFS2020 and 2024 works with it, even the god-awfully optimized Starfield loads fast and that thing is practically a loading screen simulator

I am tempted to reinstall the whole thing, but the last time I did that, when RoN left the early access and entered full 1.0 glory on Steam, I had to reconfigure everything all over again, and took me a week or so to get everything the right way.

Not to mention that if the whole career is bricked, I would need to redo everything in order to play the DLC maps with the full unlocks of everything

Regardless, I had Home Invasion for a while, I only bought Dark Waters around Xmas and since then I was trying to play the game only now. It was working beforehand, and now I have both DLCs disable, and it still locks up, both in Career mode and Quickplay.

If something would be doing a compilation, that should be showing some sort of progress bar or something and the task manager would not show "Does not respond" well beyond five minutes of hanging around 99-100% displayed on the RoN screen.

Wait 10-15 minutes if you are playing in DX12 and see if it freezes due to the compilation process or due to something else. Also note that if you adjust your video settings, it'll have to compile additional shader variations.

the compiling should not show some sort of progress so people would know that the damn thing is not stalled? And if it is not stalled, why the heck the task manager saying that it is?

But fine with me, I'll try to wait even half hour the next time I'm around my rig to test this theory.

With that being said, if this hanging is actually a compiling of some sort, then it sure is a really badly designed loading method.

Even in MSFS2020 there is a "compiling" separate progress indicator to prevent people mistakenly thinking that it stalled.
