When I try to load into the police headquarters, the game will stop loading and bring CPU utilization to 100%
If I try to wait it out, it freezes my entire OS, eventually turning both of my monitors to black when they can no longer be updated
I had to hard restart my PC twice because of this, and the third time it happened I managed to end the task before my entire PC crashed again

Cause if your entire PC ends up freezing then it might be your PC that is the issue and not the game itself

High CPU usage at 100% means it is generating shaders and the PSO cache. You just need to wait for it to finish, or play dx11

Usually waiting for it to finish does let it load, but specifically when loading the headquarters if the bug I get happens, it just does that infinitely
And instead of loading shaders that I can wait for, it just crashes my entire OS until my monitors stop getting updated

Hey everyone, I'm not new to RoN but trying to nail down an issue I'm having. I usually host public modded games with check-sum disabled. I'm running about 12 mods. Recently when trying to host no one is able to load into my lobby for longer than 10sces (joined and then left). I realize that most could be players that have Checksum enable but I had a buddy with no mods and check-sum disabled and still couldn't join my lobby. I haven't been able to get anyone to join my lobby in several days now. Thoughts?

You likely have a mod that is breaking them, it could be a gun mod.

In my experience this is most often the result of custom attachments whether that be from a mod like attachment expansion or ones included on addon weapon mods.

In general selecting a vanilla weapon should be enough to void this issue it's only when said weapons or attachments are equipped that this issue presents itself usually.

No they'll be kicked somewhat soon after you equip it you can't use the modded weapons & attachments at all while playing with others who don't have the same modded weapons & attachments.

The game does not use dedicated servers. You are trying to connect to someone half way across the world directly and the game has its limits for packet loss

Alright well just keep in mind any voice mod uploaded/updated prior to the 1.0 release date of December 13, 2023 is not going to work due to them being in the .wav format and they need to be in the .ogg format to work so check the date and file extension when downloading.

Any other reason voice mods wouldn't work just for future reference:

• The files are corrupted. Open the file to make sure it's working.
• The files are in the wrong folder. If you're playing single player and you want the voices to replace your player character than Judge is the only voice you'll hear and voicelines replacing his must be in his folder: SWATJudge.
• The files are named incorrectly.
• The folders are named incorrectly. Example: swatjudge or SWATjudge won't work the folder must be named SWATJudge

Than it is likely one of those mods is outdated and causing the crash. Custom weapon loader and simple blueprint loader act as dependencies for addon weapons and if said addon weapon isn't up to date than when it's actually activated by these dependencies it'll crash the game.

Hi guys, my RoN crashes on startup. I used to have it moded, but have deleted my mod.io folder, and deleted my mod save data on the crash screen. The only way it remains open is if i launch it through steam in safe mode. Do anyone have any other ideas on how to fix it?

My game has constantly crashed when attempting to play in a multiplayer lobby with others usually after 1 minute to 3 minutes. I've uninstalled and Reinstalled, I've verified the game files, I don't run any mods, My PC can run the game and even when testing on low settings it still crashes

Verification (and for that matter, installation) is not download.
The former is affected by Steam client and your disk and CPU speed.
The latter by your network connection.

So it depends which process is slow for you.

I don’t have this issue with other games, Cyberpunk and my other load heavy games still run fine on it. Sometimes when running RoN it runs smooth and I can play with no issues, but if I click off the game to check a website for the soft objectives it’ll just crash. Or crashes on launch, or whenever it feels like it.

This morning it doesn’t seem to want to run at all. Uses to CPU up to 42% to boot up the game but once I’m in HQ or load into a mission it drops down to 3% usage or less causing it to be insanely laggy.

Only recently did it full crash my PC and I had to give it time to reboot.

I'm running Core Temp to keep track of it, and had new fans installed on Saturday. Sunday me, Scuffed and some mates played for a handful of hours with no issues on my side. I'm just surprised it's struggling now.

90 above is not good but still can be handled by your system.

Modern CPU’s have fails safes in case of extreme temps so if it gets so bad then your CPU will auto shut down

Other than that idk where to find GPU name or if CPU&GPU come packaged separately.

You might be able to check GPU0 and GPU1 (one will be the Radeon and the other the RTX2060) in Task Manager while the game is loaded.

Ready or not connects peer to peer so connection is mostly based on the host so if the host lives far away from you or either of you don't have the greatest internet connection than you can expect to run into such problems.

Hello, my friends are trying to connect to each other and play some coop, but one friend is having trouble joining. he connects, sees the loading screen, then gets kicked with the error "PAK CHECKSUM MISSMATCH" saying they've been kicked because "Server requires you to run the same mods" but none of us have mods installed. Any idea what could be causing this?

Host likely has left over files from downloading mods previously. Easiest way to deal with it is just to have host disable server-side checksum in gameplay options, this will stop the game from checking if players have the same mods or not.

If they truly wish to be mod free than they can follow this: #❓modding-faq message and if necessary run the Clean Mods / Save data launch option but this will delete their saved progress so if they do not wish to lose any cosmetic unlocks or mission progress It's best to back up the contents of: %localappdata%\ReadyOrNot\Saved\SaveGames by copying and pasting them elsewhere.

Hi, was wondering if anyone encounter this issue or has a fix. My mouse works fine on the game menu but once the gameplay starts i cant look around using my mouse. The left and right click works just not the ability to look around. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you

Only if said archived version included said DLC. Purchasing the DLC's doesn't actually download any content since the contents of the DLCs are already installed for everyone if you have the correct version of the game for them of course. Purchasing the DLCs just unlocks the ability for you access that content.

I'm not entirely sure what you're asking but if you for example have a version of the game that was prior to the dark waters DLC update than purchasing from the current DLC page of home invasion should unlock home invasion for you but it won't give you the dark waters DLC content as said content wouldn't be included in that version of that game and did not exist yet.

Obviously if this archived version is before both DLCs were released than you'll have access to neither DLC no matter where you purchase it.

I'm just saying, it is obviously space consuming, but if you have the space for it you could just have both the archived version and current versions installed. I have 3 different archived versions of the game installed myself as long as they're in different locations than the main install there shouldn't be any issues.

SO I've purchased none of the DLC, I only have the base game. But I bought that base game way back in the alpha. Since then that version of the base game has been archived in steam.
So If I go to Ready or Not on steam I dont own that version of the game, because I own an earlier version.
This version is no longer listed on the steam page so there is no DLC attatched to it.
The only DLC is for the version on the store.
Im wondering if I buy that DLC is it compatable with my version of ready or not.

It's a completely separate version so no. If you own that version of the game and don't own the other than you should have received a key in your email to get the newer version.

Well if you've installed them before than there's probably left over files somewhere but overall it doesn't matter mods don't prevent you from getting achievements or unlocking cosmetics or anything like that.

I mean it's just text it doesn't do anything it only matters if you care about sharing your scores I guess.
Here's the steps if you want make sure your game is mod free:

• Go to gameplay options and scroll to the bottom and where it says Mod.io/Clear Mod.io User Data click RESET TO DEFAULTS restart afterwards just to make sure.
• You can follow this for manual uninstallation: #❓modding-faq message
• Only do this step if neither of the first 2 steps worked. This step will delete your save data so you need to back it up beforehand by going to: %localappdata%\ReadyOrNot\Saved\SaveGames and copying and pasting it's contents elsewhere. Now you can go to steam, right click the game, go to manage, select browse local files, under the general tab will be launch options, select the Clean Mods / Save Data launch option and run the game. After that process is complete you can restore your save data if you happen to notice any of your save data contents saying anything related to mods I recommend you don't restore that. Make sure to disable steam cloud saving otherwise the save data restoration may not take effect.

RoN has not updated in a month, and mods don't simply decide to stop working on their own. There has to be something you added/tweaked to make them act up. Depends on the mod.

Anyone else having issues with Screen tearing/ glitching? I played last night (at about midnight) and it was working perfectly. I checked the dates on all your mods they're all past it as I figured considering all outdated mods were purged not that long ago from mod.io so given you didn't install any mods manually through nexus or the mod.io website and only installed mods through in game mod.io than your problem is probably either a broken/corrupted mod or a conflict which the only way to figure that out is to remove them one by one to figure out which is the problem.

Do note you do have several AI mods installed to which you can only have one running at a time because they don't work with each other and which ever is loaded last is generally what is going to be present. Generally speaking these shouldn't cause such issues even with that being the case but with in game mod.io who can say and especially since you have so many.

You need the pakchunks with 0-19 and 22/23 those are the game files. Anything after that are mods.

So when I'm trying to open the game, it'll go for about 5 seconds or less through the loading screen at the beginning or whatever and then it'll instantly crash and send me to a crash report screen. I've restarted my computer and tried multiple times but nothing has worked so far. I've just uninstalled the game and I am going to reinstall it and see what happens tomorrow. How does RoN know which voicelines it can use?
I'm guessing the system is essentially this:

• Go through every folder in the VO folder
  • For every folder, make an array of the names of the .ogg files inside
  • Store a hashmap of folderName:[array]
• When the game needs a voiceline:
  • See if there's an element within the hashmap with the right folder name
  • If yes, get the array inside
  • Work through the array and find if there's files in there that fit the right usecase. If the audio file needed is, say, a shout for compliance, look for something like "shout"
  • Play that file

Obviously optimized for performance and named different things, but interested in how the system works behind the curtains

I recently grabbed the DLC missions and reinstalled to play through them for the first time, and I've found that my game both seems to look and run worse than I remember. My PC is a little outdated admittedly, however the game ran perfectly fine before. Now I find that the lighting is all wrong, I notice ghosting artifacts everywhere (especially on scrolling text such as on the flip down tablet display when you hit TAB) and my frames are struggling to stay above 50 on low-medium settings.

Did something happen since the 1.0 launch that I'm unaware of? And, for the record, the DLC missions were great. I just want to know how to get the game back to how it was before.

Hello guys, it's been almost a week since my game has had any color, EVERYTHING is in black and white.
The colors sometimes come back randomly after either reinstalling the game or reinstalling my NVIDIA graphics driver.
But every time I close the game, everything goes back to black and white when I restart it..

I would like to point out that none of my other games suffer from this problem.
I also already tried to reinstall a previous graphics driver (because sometimes the game stopped being in black and white when I reinstalled the driver, as said above.)
I deleted all the mods in the >Paks file before reinstalling and naturally haven't put any mods back since.

Honestly I already asked for help twice on Reddit this week.
I searched on Google and I only found color problems but unfortunately no posts talking specificly about color problems in black and white.
I even went so far as to ask on a RoN Discord from my country's community.

But no way to find even a single person who had the same problem..
I would be infinitely grateful to you for just trying to help me because it really is my FAVORITE GAME that I play at least once a day EVERY DAY.

Hello, ive got blender set up correctly and UModel has been downloaded. Yet, Im having some issues like the UModel didnt come out as .exe but it still worked and everytime I try to export the game files onto a seperate file it tells me this. Ive removed mods, specified game version, ive even tried UModel_64 but nothing is working, What to do?

ive also had other issues where i own the ready or not home invasion but every time i open the game it doesent allow me to play it. My sollution to that has been to go onto the store, find ready or not home invasion then i click play becasue I own it and then it will finally work. Is it that perhaps I need to redownload the game?

Hi, I've basically tried everything to launch the game but it doesnt seem to work. I've tried every mode to launch (Clean Boot, Safe, DX12,DX11), Re-Installed Visual+DirectX+.NET Redists, Fully updated my drivers, Verified file integrity twice, Deleted all mods, Tried compatibility settings, Even checked my SSD's for any corruption but nothing seems to work. The game doesnt give a crash report, steam recognises it as "launched" for a couple seconds and it shows up on task manager but dissapears after around 4 seconds or so. The only thing I have been able to go off of is this error which I get by launching the ReadyOrNot-Win64-Shipping.exe.

I'm guessing this is a mod creation/testing thing, and you won't be able to find help here. Your best option is the mod discord.

The DLC is also open depending on what mode you play. Quick play and COOP from the start. You must have all missions done in commander for commander.

The default Steam screenshot key is F12 and it is virtually always being avoided by any other app or overlay to prevent duplicitous keybind. If you have changed it from F12 to F10, ensure that your other apps, overlays and whatnot are not using the same keybindings.

Hello, I have observed an issue that happens randomly while in a mission.. I would just get kicked from the game with the message "connection lost" and I'd find myself in the main menu. Now, I know this has to do with my internet as it often tells me I have high latency sometimes and I imagine my internet hangs for a bit and the game kicks me for it.

My question: Is there a way I can reconnect after this happens? Because, the game is, otherwise, fully playable in multiplayer with my internet, aside from these moments when I just get kicked out... Is there maybe a mod or a command or something that could let me join back in an ongoing mission ? Especially when I was a part of it to begin with

that's where the mods are located once installed. Deleting that folder removes them sure but then the game will redownload necessary files and Paks folder is a must

once you download the file, unpack it and save the file in Program Files(x86)>Steam>steamapps>Common>Ready or Not>ReadyorNot>Content>Paks. Then just launch the game and voila

Hi Guys - I have the following issue: I have finished all of the single player mmissions (although I did Relapse in MMultiplayer) but I cant access the DLC in Single Player Mode......do I HAVE TO DO Relapse in SP before it unlocks?

Commander mode you have to play through it. But quick play and Mp the maps are auto unlocked

I haven't been able to launch RoN in a long while, I had completed the entire campaign (normal not commander). If I fixed this by resetting it (I still have no solution for my problem) would it be possible to have my saves back like the missions? I had completed all to Port. Idc about the mods I had installed. Unless someone is able to help me fix it, I'm missing a file or something I just don't know which one.

If you didn't yet deleted them, back them up somewhere from %LOCALAPPDATA%\ReadyOrNot\Saved\

I can't start RoN as well. Well sometimes it works, then it goes till the map and I can play but the moment I throw a second flashbang or breaking the door with C2 the game crashes, after that I'm unable to re open (right after start it crashes without error) or it freezes after the developer logos or an error pop ups with corrupt data, both I checked files multiple times and yes Kaspersky is aware of RoN to not block it in any case. And this is after the recent updates, before I was able to play just fine. And yet I'm not sure if it's on me or on the latest update or else I would have brought it to a ticket.

im unsure where to put this so i'll put it here. (and im sorry about bad grammar english isn't my first language or anything) so my game kicks me at random points on directx12 and 11. just now my gun disappeared and i got kicked from the lobby (singleplayer works just fine) and it really sucks when trying to play with friends. i have no video photo or anything sadly.

What do you mean when you say "kicked" ? A crash event when the game either closes to desktop or throws a crash reporter window, or "lost connection" error while in-game ?

Do you use any kind of mods ? (maps, weapobnns, UI, debug menu, etc.)

I do have a map and no traps mods installed. And by kick I mean it throws me to the main menu of ron saying “lost connection to host” though single player works just fine
