Crashing when in loading screen or when finishing a mission.

Done a fresh install and verified files but the game crashes usually in loading screens between missions or at the end of a mission. I have no mods, specs are listed below.

Heyyy, my Games Crashes when im playing a mission. Sometimes directly at the beginning and in the middle of the Mission. Ive also Tried Safe Mode, Direct 11 and 12. I dont use any Mods or some other stuff.

I've recently experienced game crashes and performance issues following an update.

The game crashes during map loading, at the end of games and just overall shows poor performance during gameplay, despite running fine in previous versions. I have no mods installed so It can't be anything like that, I also always updated the game even when I didn't play it.

My system specs:

AMD Ryzen 9 7900X,
64GB (2x32GB) DDR5-6400 Corsair Vengeance RAM (Clocked at 5600 instead due to EXPO being unstable in the first few bios versions),
MSI VENTUS 2X BLACK OC GeForce RTX 4060 Ti 16GB GPU,

The game is installed on a 2TB ADATA XPG GAMMIX S70 Blade SSD.

Power supply issues were suggested as a possible cause by others, but with a 1000W titanium-rated power supply, I doubt its this

One thing to note is that because my playform is AM5 there were previous issues with supporting two RAM sticks, leading to only one stick (32GB) being used. However, this worked well with earlier game versions, and the problem only appeared after recent updates. Despite others mentioning this issue, most responses say to update driver updates, with no actual solution.

This is also the only game in my whole steam library I have problems like this with.

I’ve been using DX11 because it runs a lot smoother, but the game still freezes frequently. Especially while loading into a match. DX12 isn't as smooth, it almost always crashes or freezes during the loading screen and for a longer period of time than DX11.

I don’t have any mods installed, so I know it’s not an external file causing the issue.

I’ve also updated my drivers to the latest version, so it’s unlikely to be an outdated driver.

The only other issue on my end I can think of is that everything is running off one stick of memory, but all my other games work fine with this setup. I also checked the temperatures, and they’re all within normal ranges for AM5, so overheating isn’t the issue either.

I'm going to assume you've got multiple monitors based on your setup, can you watch your Memory and CPU usage on map loading and tell us which one is spiking?

Also did you reinstall the game when the issues started or have you just taken basic troubleshooting measures?

hey all, new here. im speaking on behalf of a buddy of mine, he started up his game yesterday and most of his progress (commander mode save, outfits/loadouts and game settings) were all deleted/reset to default. however, his ratings on each of the missions was preserved. we poked around in his local appdata, and it looks like all of his data inside his save is all there and upadted since the last time we played. we tried disabling steam cloud saves to no avail, and re-enabling them also didnt work. he's never launched the game in safe mode, or played with any mods whatsoever. hoping to get some guidance, but i know its a longshot haha

I bought this wonderful game in February. In April I started playing and everything worked until September until I decided not to install it again. Until I uninstalled it (August 2024) it was on disk and nothing happened to it. After installing it today, I have a problem. When clicking the “Play” button in Steam, I trivially have the game not launch. You can see the problem specifically in this video, which I uploaded to youtube. Hello! For some reason, both magnified optics in the game don't have any reticle. The behaviour is the same on all guns as far as I can tell. I don't know if this is a bug or something, but it was working a few days ago and now isn't... Anyway, I've tried restarting the game and also validating files, but neither worked and nothing was found to be wrong. I'm running vanilla Ready Or Not without mods. I checked #❗known-issues-and-fixes, but didn't see anything related to it in the most recent message, so I figured I'd ask here to see if anyone else has had this issue or has a solution to it. What do you mean? the issue is listed right there in the most recent message. Make sure your resolution scaling is set to 100% and you have DLSS off as the message described.

The conversation tells you that many people are having this issue, intel cpus below gen 10 cause issues and there's a mod at the very bottom to help with one of the reasons why the game crashes.

Officially no, can you use a controller? yes. You'll have to use the steam controller configurator and either manually make a layout or download one from the community layouts.

Google exist for a reason you can literally help yourself especially since preventing anti virus from blocking game files isn't only RoN specific. So you have two options you can either try making an exception in win defender or whatever 3rd party anti virus software you may have for the folder you're trying to install ron into or you can just completely disable any anti virus software you have and install ron then. Want details on how to do that? google how to.

Did it? I haven't personally tested since I don't use a controller and only knew about it because of doing the UEVR stuff for RoN and I've seen people do UEVR RoN since the update so I assumed it still worked.

Why can't I change my soldier's equipment?

Every time I try to set the equipment for a given mission, e.g. ALPHA units, it returns to the default settings and MY PLAYER'S settings disappear.

What is it about?

I believe it's not the Intel CPU problem because the game was running fine until recently. I don't know if I should reinstall.

DX12 compiles shaders on loading screens, and it does that every time you mangle with video settings (which is something devs need to fix) or when you update GPU driver.
And that requires your CPU to be stable.

It also hangs the game thread so it appears as "frozen" for a good while depending on how fast your CPU is.

Hello, I have a very specific question about the game. I'm looking for the name of the audio file that plays the flashlight activation sound in the game. I know it's in a .BANK file, but I don't know which one or its exact title.

when you change the settings it gen a new PSO related to that settings

if you switch over, for a option that you already have a PSO, you will not need to create a PSO again

we could add to cache for every single settings, in our currently setup (amound of assets/materials etc..) but it will drastically increase the load. (we could even add for when you open the game)
HOWEVER, as we are constant updating our game assets, maybe this will be a option in a future.

If you are worrying about it taking long it means you have a gigantic amount of unique shader programs to compile.
Which in turn means there are optimisations to be had here basically by default for once you get other stuff out of the way.

Though what's more of a pressing problem as I see it, is the UX of the current situation:

• The game loading screen does not actually provide any information to the user about this process, none whatsoever
• The game window freezes entirely (either game or render thread stalls), ergo most users will report it as a crash

Fixing up the 2 UX problems will do for now and should be much more easier to solve for sure.

If you're installing through in game mod.io than mod.io subscriptions aren't currently working for many people right now so it's recommended to manually download mods from nexusmods. Only download mods uploaded/updated on or after July 23rd of this year otherwise they will not work because they're outdated. Hello. My game keeps randomly freezing during single-player game play. Commander mode and Practice mode. Sometimes by the very early parts of the mission. Sometimes halfway through the mission. No idea what causes it. The game completely freezes. The music keeps playing.

I'm playing on NVIDIA GeForce Now. I don't belive performance is the issue. The game is also vanilla, no mods.

Can't hurt. However, I believe the Free version of GeForce Now uses Intel chips so I believe it is related.

We haven't had much progress with the developer so I'd be interested if pushing from Nvidia's end would yield any results.

Ah okay good to know. I'm not as familiar with the specs used above free. It would seem weird if they use Intel for free then AMD above so it may just be a stronger Intel CPU, which is still having issues with the thread I linked.

I need help, it started with RoN saying I had Corrupt Serialization/Corrupt files, I did what the modding faq did and it still didnt work. So I uninstalled and reinstalled the game in hopes that may work. Now I am able to get into the game but whenever I try to launch a single player, multiplayer, or anything besides the menu screen, it gets to 100% and then freezes permanently until closure. In reallity, it does not matter anything, if I am not mistaken. It counts towards achievemnt and unlockables. I am not sure, if it counts as "record"(you can view it in your menu). It is another VOID mistake, that they do not care to fix.

What troubleshooting steps have you taken so far and where is the game installed? A freeze on initialization is usually some sort of read error.

For the last Ryzen freeze, a few things worked:

• Updating graphics and network drivers specifically [I don't know why this worked.]
• Completely removing the game, game folder, and configs
• Enabling memories XMP profile on your Motherboard

Whichever one you have selected in the launcher is what Steam's desktop icon will launch.
The default is the first option (DX12), so if you didn't select any other that's what the game will launch on.

I was able to get past the 23 mb mission where I was getting stuck, but then tried the next 'campaign' commander mode mission and got it halfway through when trying to clear the last building.
Are there any additional steps I can try to stop this from happening? (paks are clear only 0-20 exist)

I dont have a solution, but instead of restarting, try this:
WindowsKey+tab>create new desktop>within new desktop run task manager>will let you stop the notresponding game

You wont need to restart and can then close the task manager and extra desktop (works for other games that crash too)

I quit the game and reloaded a few minutes later to do another mission, but I only see the one I already did on the Mission Select.

If you hit continue, it takes you to your latest commander save. Check quick play, and the other way around.

To the Devs, thought i should let you know that the game constantly bugs out when loading into a map. Like it would say 2/3 ready and it would load forever until that person leaves. Ruined a lot of games with random players ...
also it just randomly will force quit ... but still say its running on steam.
the game is very buggy tbh.

Suggestions: make toggle Voice chat a thing along with push to talk .. NO ONE wants to constantly click a button while in the midst of intense combat to relay comms.
id imagine people simply don't use their mics for this very reason.

Also, make it so when you create a lobby you can write a name ..
And when you join a lobby you can pick from the list of server names.
those two alone will not only entice players but make them want to play online Much more.

For example if I'm doing an "S - Rank" run .. i can put that as the title...

Other then that the game is amazing.

Well the in game mod.io is broken so that's why that doesn't work. As long as you're installing mods manually and correctly from nexus and they're up to date they should work. Mods need to be updated on or after July 23rd of this year to work. However, mods that are up to date but are labeled with UE4 or pre-update anywhere will not as they're meant for an earlier version of the game.
