Hi, i originally thought my internet was failing me but ran multiple tests whilst playing the game and reviewed to logs to see no issues in bandwidth.

My issue is SEVERE desync with other players often times everyone one at a time causing the entire team to need to wait for that person to rubber band back into existence. This whole ordeal usually takes about 20 seconds at a time.
Had a funny interaction with this when it happened as i was reloading i ended up loading over 40 bullets into my shotgun before i got rubberbanded back and insta killed by an enemy.

is there a known server issue or interaction i can avoid somehow to fix this?

its compressed. in reality its more. keeping in mind its also going to modify most files for the game youll need more than 22 gigs available.

you can try restarting your computer and seeing if it lets you update on reboot but i doubt it

looked into my own crash reports and found that it was interacting badly with out of engine modification and razer synapse

Turn off razer synapse and remove any custom settings in nvidia control panel or amd adrenaline and it should boot

but i only have my own error logs to review

I still think shader pre-caching or something like that has something to do with it, given that VRAM usage shoots to 10GB (100%) when loading a level, and the crashes stop after 3-5 tries

Also, the out of VRAM errors dont generate a crash log. That's a crash log from a crash that happened just before when starting the game after a VRAM crash

No matter the specs, a game shouldn't reserve 100% of VRAM upon beginning a level load and cause a crash. Even if my specs weren't good enough (they are as I never had these issues pre-1.0), I don't think low specs should make a game crash generally anyways

Also hopefully the game isn't storing shader cache in temp storage otherwise it would cause more load times and crashes

normal use of your computer, installing software editing files and general use over time slowly fills up your temp storage until you reboot sometimes causing your pc to feel slow if you don't have a lot of ram.

The game runs on my friends system who is using a 1060 with 3gigs of vram. it often lags out when restarting the game but as soon as textures and shaders have been processed it works. the functionality of the game even with low vram doesnt cause the game to crash on launch, a combination of things do.

also, vram isnt the processing part of the card. its mainly used to store textures in active use same as ram is for information. if your vram is verly low windows will shift files in the active directory around, with a fast harddrive and graphics card this is generally fine but can introduce stuttering. with a slow card it can make the game run or not at all.

the game isnt allocating 100% of your vram. your vram is just either clogged with useless info which gets replaced but might not be fast enough or you dont have the minimum requirement

well the error log you sent is a bad interaction with software. idk what settings you are running with your nvidea control panel but like i mentioned before reseting them stops it from breaking the memory access issue

geforce experience has a tendency to automatically "optimize" games

To anybody who is having issues with ready or not launching to an unresponsive black screen I was able to fix it by using the reset this pc button in windows, a bit extreme but I had tried everything you could find on the internet about fixing the issue. If none of the solutions you can find are working it may just be best to wait for a patch if you are not in a place where resetting your entire computer is an option. At least I can play the game now

i cant speak for your scenario but i have done proper network testing with monitoring whilst playing the game multiplayer and the netcoding for this game is very unstable. could be due to world related issues but rubberbanding happens even with solid internet for all players.

Has anyone had any issues with audio since the update? I played through the first mission before the update, went into the second after updating and none of the characters speak any more. Gun fire and footsteps etc still work fine. The only other thing I noticed is that at HQ the metal detector by the shooting range doesn’t beep anymore, and there are no announcements over the tannoy. I’ve checked file integrity, mods, settings etc Reluctant to do a clean install as I only just did one with the installation problems everyone has been mentioning.

I just looked it up. It says this error message means that your system has run out of RAM usage.

It's possible you don't have enough RAM to run it or have to many programs running at the same time.

This is a bug in the game at the moment. I'm not sure about the single player part as it worked for me, however I have run into an issue where it kicked me back to the menu while hosting. But after that it was fine and worked again.

I would say it does depend on weather your with AMD or Nvidia and what card you have. DX12 works perfect for me with no performance drops or fps drops, and DX11 is a god awful choppy mess.

Another thing I would recommend is forcing the game to run in either DX11 or 12 which ever works for you and only launch it from steam. Launching the game from the desktop shortcut will always launch it with DX11 for some reason.

when in your steam library and on the RoN game page where it says play, on the right side there is a settings wheel. you click that and then properties and under launch options select the one you want.

The only reason I know it always launches in DX11 with the desktop shortcut is because its a choppy mess everytime I used it. Even after forcing DX12 from the properties menu.

Hi all, I play RoN on both my PC and sometimes my laptop for when I'm away by using cloud gaming service NvidiaGEFORCE Now (GFN). I had finished all the missions in Commander Mode previously but now whenever I'm about to play via GFN, steam won't sync with the steam cloud and all my save data is lost. And once I returned to play in my PC, all my progress is lost as well, even as steam cloud is synced.

@jade garden you'll want to balance out the GPU usage at least to be around 80% at most maybe 90%. If it hits 100% usage or is being way under utilized, you'll get either bad FPS or bad stutters. Turning shadows all the way down in graphics though did seem to eliminate stutters

Hey Gents ! I have massive stutters or lag should I say . I tried to reduce graphic settings , even to the bare minimum and also tried with everything on high , but same thing . Thx for responding , I have my frames capped to 60 since I use Vsync , because my monitor is 60hz . I've tried letting loose and I reach 70-100 fps but at some points on the map I get 40 fps so I use Vsync adaptive . With the above my GPU and my CPU are going between 20 to 40 % usage .

Keep usage at 80%, 90% at most. You can do that by lowering things like decals and render distance or increasing graphics settings. Keep shadows all the way low though. This is actually intended behavior, Steam will use other drives on your PC to put files when you don't have enough space on your main download drive. You can't disable that, only way to resolve it is to free up space on your download drive

Sutters can happen for a lot of reasons, but generally getting usage sorted first makes it easier to sort out the stuttering issues. Like I said, if you have frequent stutters, try turning shadow quality as low as it can go

I dont think anyone replied but Has anyone had issues with audio since the update? I played through the first mission before the update fine, earlier I went into the second mission after updating and none of the characters speak any more. In headquarters, training or anywhere. Gun fire and footsteps etc still work fine. The only other thing I noticed is that at HQ the metal detector by the shooting range doesn’t beep anymore, and there are no announcements over the tannoy. I’ve checked file integrity, mods off, settings etc and its in single player. Reluctant to do a clean install as I only just did one with the installation problems everyone has been mentioning. I have had no other issues at all aside from this from the new fix for 1.0

To create a pagefile, do Windows + R to pull up the run command window. Type sysdm.cpl and hit enter. at the top go to Advanced. Under Performance, click Settings. From there, it will open Performance Options. Go to Advanced in there and click Change under "Virtual Memory". It should be set automatically.

Okay, yesterday I wrote about my game acting weirdly with random switches from commander mode to practice mode and complete refusal to keep any progress whatsoever while doing so. After deinstallation and clean re-installation it looks like the problem was solved. I know others have posted on the Out Of Memory error that crashes that game in the past (from my Googling), but I never experienced it until the 1.0 launch. My first night trying to play with friends after it I had it happen 4-5 times. At this point I have 0 mods. I did a full wipe of the game and manually deleted all the folder and did a full reinstall as well. It happens on both dx11 and dx12. I've got 64 GB of RAM, a 3080 GPU, and an i9 13900k cpu. I don't get it. If I can't play the game what does it take? Drivers are all fully updated.

Yeah removed all my mods and verified files but still can't use the new guns. Do I have to unlock them or something?

i followed the directions in the pinned message to fix my guns issue, but it still won't let me, i'm trying to avoid clean installing so does anyone have any other suggestions?

You have to manually delete the mods folder and then repair files to actually remove the mods.

This is the memory error I keep getting. Even after a full clean wipe. Didn't get it a single time before launch and now its nearly every time. Task manager shows memory at 35% usage only. 😦

It shows all the guns, when I click it just keeps the current gun I have. I'm gonna try what darksabre said and I'll lyk. Appreciate your help though

I've tried everything and i've gone from a solid 60 frames on high pre 1.0 to now 20 frames if im lucky on low post 1.0 . It sucks cause I've been waiting to play and it's just unplayable since the update.

Im sure some ppl have had this but my cursor appears on screen and i can move it and interact in the game but i cant move or anything

That’s what I’m doing too. It’s at 60fps for the most part, but 50% of my deaths happen when the fps drops to 30

I mean directx12 doesn’t even start, it just freezes into a black screen

So directx11 is my only option anyway

I had between 200 and 300 fps after the hotfix. it went back down to 40 60 today, I have a 3090ti and a 12900k btw -_- no idea about what's going on

Hi Guys, after I updated to 1.0 version RoN wont start anymore. I just got a blackscreen. I have done a complete reinstallation. I have no mods installed

Nope, deleting localapps folder and verifyring doesnt help. Just black screen with a cursor, but no display or audio 😦
