I think it is just a bug that can't be fixed by players. You need to wait for the devs to update the game. I have that same picture when using things like the pepperball or beanbag guns. I don't remember having that with the ump, but it is possible I just didn't notice.

we are trying to use the steam function, the ingame invite function but trying to join somebody just doesn't work

but when we host a public lobby a lot of people can join

just trying to invite friends does not work

randoms can join however

finding coop sessions also doesn't work

The game uses Steam for peer 2 peer, so to join others, it depends on your connection, the other players, and Steam

If you are using a VPN, try disabling it, check your Steam download region, launch the game only through the Steam library, verify the game files, make sure your windows/drivers are up to date

There is this ReShade preset for KSP that is usable in RoN. It contains a Nightvision overlay with ecoti thermal imager. The Ecoti works thanks to an Edge Detect Filter.

Karmakut has made a video about it, I reckon it has become quite popular. (18th Oct. 2022)
The ReShade NV works flawlessly in Singleplayer Lobbies, however in any Multiplayer Lobbies the Ecoti Module doesn't work. It doesn't work in a weird way: If you stand completely still it works, when you movie (Mouse of WASD) it stops working/the outlines just disappear. It is also the only part of the ReShade that doesn't work. Everything else is fine.
Checking/Unchecking Serverside Checksum also doesn't impact this.

Any experience with this at all? Does RoN in Multiplayer just block Edge Detect Filters somehow? I have no idea why it would work in Singleplayer but not in Multiplayer.

Karmakut showed how to install it in his video. I followed the steps closely, there is nothing I know of that could be needed.
I rewatched the video of his and noticed that when playing with his friends he never turned the Ecoti Outlines on.

My assumption thereby is that the Ecoti Shader just doesn't work in MP.
But it is very weird to me since it works flawlessly in SP for me and everyone I know.
In addition it is really weird how it doesnt work in MP. Its not like the Ecoti Shader doesn't activate at all, it just only works if you sit still for a second. If you move at all it stops working. Only in MP.
Thats what confuses me so much, I have no idea why and how it is different.

Everytime I try to play a game with friends I usually lag with them walking into walls before usually 30 seconds later everything catches back up or I lose the connection to host. It is modded and I have matched every mod exactly how the host has but it still gives me this.

I have good internet and im on ethernet.

Tab menu shows a stable 100ms ping throughout.

Using gunfighter if that has anything to do with it.

1. Temporarily disable your anti-viruses and test if the issue persists
2. Change your steam username
3. Log out of steam, then log-in again
4. Try restarting your router
   If all of the steps above fail, the issue is on steam's part
   The second step fixes it most of the time

Thanks, after some more testing it appears that it does not like an external rode A1 system. Changing to a different sound system got all the sounds to work.

What are the best steps to take to limit the weird blocky, clipping shadows? Generally present as large circles on a variety of maps.
All settings are as good as they get and i have a 3070 so I wouldn't assume its a performance thing. I have also tried dropping certain settings but it doesnt appear to change much.

Can anybody help me? The game runs badly, I mean, when I start the game it goes around 30 fps and today they lowered it to 3 and it hasn't gone above 5 fps. Essential stuff has to be on your SSD, at least when it needs performance. Your OS needs to be on the SSD, and preferably all of your drivers to. After all of the core components are accounted for you can just see what space you have left for games. Old games are the ones you put on the HDD as they don't really need the speed (most of the time, anything past 2016 is stuff you might want to put on the SSD). SSD's also tend to be faster whenever you have a decent amount of space left on it. I don't know why really, but just keep in mind that you want at least 45 to 60 gb of free memory on it to keep its speed up.

Thats the gameplay clip, its kinda hard to notice but you can definitely see stutters and that really messes me up

Your preset system likely messed with them, I'm guessing your Steam name contains special characters

You'll have to try to reset their loadouts and/or potentially reset your save data

The launcher only causes maps to work, cosmetics and other mods do not work now. Manual installation is the go to option

The restarting behavior is not intended and is caused by (in my testing) broken and outdated mods

Your Bodycam reshade decreases the FOV

Set a key like numpad - to effect toggle in reshade and you'll see how it cuts off parts of the screen and menu.

Sorry I don't follow what you're saying since you already have access to the game on the normal version but since you already bought the normal version of the game you can now buy the supporter edition at any time for $79.99 USD.(Adding up to a total of $120 USD spent, same price you would had spent if you bought the supporter edition to start when the game isn't on sale.)

All the supporter edition is giving you is a couple of character skins and some weapon reskins plus the possible chance to play the next game update earlier than others on the supporter branch and you get the first expansion pack(DLC) for "free".

There is no way to automatically share mods. If you want everyone to play with server-changing mods (modded maps, gamemodes, etc) you should have everyone download the same mods. If you only want to have personal mods (weapon skins, voice lines, etc) then other players do not need to download mods. The checksum just makes sure that everyone who joins the server is using identical mods. Turning it off means people with different mods from you are able to join, but they may get kicked if they are missing necessary mods.

I think the gore mod should be fine, but the ragdolls might not appear in the exact same place for every player, but that can happen in vanilla too. The ai overhaul is obviously going to be needed by the host for it to take effect. It should work if only the host has it, but no guarantees. Worst case, everyone has to download the mods.

You should be able to get at least 60fps at 1080p. Don't expect to get super high fps if you have a high refresh rate monitor, since this game can be cpu limited.

No, I don't think I've seen a mod that can do that, it's just something that happens with peer-to-peer games since the "server" is someone's computer that is both running the game and sending/recieving data from players rather than a dedicated central server that everyone connects to.

No, that wouldn't be the issue, the issue would be the distance to players you are playing with. I would try joining a random lobby and see if that gives you an issue to test, but keep in mind the game is peer 2 peer. So if you're in NA for example, and you try to join someone in Asia, you might have connection issues

The game is still in Early Access and will be optimized as the game is developed. Some maps are more demanding than others.

Extra:

• The current size of Ready or Not is 92Gb. It is a known issue and has been optimized to 50Gb (as of 13 August 2023) on the developer build.
• Hospital and Sullivan Slope are known to have optimization issues.
• Please try to identify if it is lag, or low FPS, before continuing. If you are noticing issues only when using the friend invite system, it is likely due to connections.

Stuttering During Firefights/AI Interactions

This one has been tied to having controllers plugged in. This has varying results.

0) Disconnect ANY extra input peripherals, such as: console controllers, joysticks, drawing tablets, gamepads, etc.

1) Go to the Steam application

2) On the top left, select Steam and go to settings

3) Go to Controller, ensure that Steam is not detecting any controllers.

4) Disable input for all controllers

Low FPS

1) Switch DX version when launching Ready or Not. Try DX12, and if performance is not to your liking, switch to DX11.

2) Verify the game files (Right click RoN on Steam > Properties > Installed Files > Verify Integrity)

3) View the Mod troubleshooting pins above to remove mods.

3) Navigate to the Mod.io folder

4) In this folder, you will find at least one folder with a 4 digit ID.

If you view more than one folder, it means you have more than one game that uses Mod.io

5) Select "3791" and continue until you find "user.json"

6) Rename this file to "user.json.bak" (without the "")

Ready or Not Mod Troubleshooting/Removal

This will delete all mods, but also reset your map scores, loadout, and controls.

1) Go to Ready or Not on Steams Library.

2) Hit launch and wait for the popup box to appear.

If a popup menu does not appear, you have set a default launch option. Right click the game > Properties > General > Launch options > Set to "Ask on Launch"

3) Select the third option, "Clean Save Data/Mods"

4) Hit yes when prompted and continue until the process is finished.

5) You are not vanilla and reset to the beginning.~~

Method 2 - Crash Report Menu

1) Right click the game on Steam, select Manage, and select Open Local Files

2) Navigate through file explorer, select Engine > Binaries > Win64

3) Right click "CrashReporter.exe" and select "Run as Administrator"

4) Select "Delete Mod Data"

You may optionally reset your save data, this is not required.

5) Hit yes on the prompts

6) You are now back to vanilla with your map scores, loadout, and controls saved unless you hit reset save data.

Method 3 - Manual Removal

1) Right click the game on Steam, select Manage, then select Open Local Files

2) Navigate through file explorer, select ReadyorNot > Content > Paks

3) There are 26 core files named "windowsnoeditor," do not delete these.

4) Delete anything extra (including the mod.io folder) that is not one of these 26 files above.

5) Type into the top search bar "%localappdata%" (without the "")

6) Delete "ReadyorNot"

7) You are now vanilla

If the game does not launch or asks to reinstall files, you uninstalled one of the core 26 files.

Ready or Not General Troubleshooting

1) Verify the game files

• Right click the game on Steam, select Properties, select Installed Files, then hit Verify Integrity

2) For mod related issues, or to ensure your game is vanilla, view the pin below

3) Update your graphics drivers and Windows. In rare cases, a revert of drivers may be required after updates.

4) Temporarily disable your anti-virus(es) and/or firewall and test if the issue persists. (Windows Defender, private anti-viruses, etc.)

5) View the other pins, but if all else fails, do a clean reinstall.

• Uninstall Ready or Not on Steam
• Open file explorer and navigate to Steam\Steamapps\Common\
• Delete the remnant files for "Ready or Not"
• On the top search bar, type "%localappdata%" (without the "")
• Delete "ReadyOrNot"
• You may now reinstall the game on Steam

i've acidentally deleted all the "windowsnoeditor" paks and verifing the integraty of the game files isn't doing anything : )

Verifying the game files will prompt the game to reinstall them, check your downloads tab to see if something is queued infront of it
