🟥 All in all, we expect users to be civil and somewhat nice to each other, and intend to cultivate the best and most comfortable atmosphere we can for the server.
Contrary to popular beliefs around moderation, we as a moderation team are not here to stomp on everyone and revel in our moderating power, but rather to try to ensure all parties have the best, friendliest and most harmonious experience possible. We therefore usually avoid intervening in conversations unless there is a conflict that needs to be defused or any rules are broken. We all are here to have a good time, so let's try to cooperate towards making this a cool place to hang out at.

Thanks for reading, and we hope you enjoy your time here and with the game. smidogif

🟥 If the Moderation Team informs you to stop what you are doing, stop.

arrowbdownarrowbdownarrowbdownarrowbdownarrowbdownarrowbdownarrowbdownarrowbdown

Please direct message the redalert "TOC" (@austere valley) bluealert ticket-system bot under 'Mod Mail' on the user list if you have moderation-related reports, questions, or concerns.
It will create a ticket the mod team will be able to collectively see and reply to. This may sometimes take time as we have others to attend to, and a lack of a reply does not necessarily mean the ticket was not addressed.

Additionally, if you have issues in a voice channel (VC), please record and submit evidence to the redalert @austere valley bluealert bot.

If there is a particularly urgent and active situation you may @ Moderation Team. Abuse of this may result in action taken against you.

❤️ Please do not message members of the Moderation or Development team directly.

🟥 ***By participating in this server you are expected to follow Discord's Terms of Service, *and have read and agreed to our rules:

Note: How you choose to present yourself within our server is part of how you interact with it. Profile pictures and bios are also subject to our rules.

The moderation team can't be expected to know when you are or aren't "messing around," so if an offense is committed you should expect action to be taken.

  1. Do NOT post any content that violates the NDA.
This includes anything (mini-devs, gameplay, screenshots, ect.) from BEFORE the NDA-free December 2nd, 2021 PvE update. The exception to this is PvP player-generated in-game gameplay/content from public PvP builds from AFTER the NDA-free May 9th, 2020 PvP update.
    • This would be a direct violation of the signed NDA and will result in a ban from both this Discord server and the game. While we'd otherwise like to give Supporters the possibility to share media with other Supporter testers, the reasoning behind this rule is that other testers could take your image or footage and leak it with YOUR Steam ID printed on it, making it impossible for us to track the person who actually leaked it. Therefore, we've decided to forbid any kind of media sharing that could fall under the NDA.

  1. Please keep it civil and treat others with respect.
Do not attack, harass, or troll/bait other users. This includes any derogatory messages. Please reach out to the redalert @austere valleybluealert bot or @ Moderation Team if there's a situation, instead of contributing to a mess.
The offense examples above lead to a detrimental chat experience for other users.
  2. No NSFW or NSFL content
Includes real-world violence, gore, nudity, sexual content, excessively loud content, ect. Anything that would generally be deemed not safe for work/life.
Tasteless depictions of in-game scenarios may also be removed.
  3. Do not misuse the server's channels.
Stay on-topic within them, and stick to their corresponding formats if necessary.
  4. No slurs, epithets, or otherwise bigotry and attacks on a particular group of people.
Some examples include language or memes that are racist, homophobic, transphobic,* sexist**, derogatory towards mental conditions, ect. Just don't do it.*
This includes jokes based on tragedies. Don't make fun of the world's losses.
Attempting to bypass detection will result in a swift ban.
  5. No spamming.
This applies to all content, including pings.
  6. No political or religious discussion.
    It can get heated quickly.

  1. Do not change your name to match a role or another user's name.
Keep your nickname easy to mention, keeping in mind that this happens to be an English speaking server (see Rule 9 below).
  2. This server is not for the purpose of advertising and/or trading or selling real-world items.
    • Do not advertise unless you're given express permission by the moderation team to do so, same for giving out keys. Discord server advertisement and self-promotion also apply, for example.
    • Furthermore, refrain from asking other users for free games or money.
  3. Do not send messages in languages other than English.
    • *Unofficial language servers can be found in #alt-languages *
  4. Do not harass the developers or moderation team
This includes abuse of the TOC ticket system.
Please make sure you can't find a way to address your need elsewhere before pinging them.
  5. Use of alternate accounts, especially to evade moderation action, will result in a ban.
  6. Evidence of acquiring the game or its content through means of piracy may result in a ban.
    • Avoid discussing piracy as well, action may be taken in related situations. This also includes discussion about ways to abuse regional pricing and third-party/grey market platforms.

  1. Interpersonal drama should be avoided entirely, this isn't the place for it, we're all here to have a good time. Do not give clout or notoriety to users who break our rules. We want to set a solid example for new and current users.
We have a thorough and procedural process for reviewing ban appeals that has mod team oversight throughout, and the moderation process is meticulously conducted. Users that have action taken against them, such as those who are banned, are not solid examples for the community. Utilize the TOC mod mail bot when you have questions or concerns, and expect that we will often want to speak to the user who had action taken against them, to reduce a telephone-style miscommunication effect.
  2. Please avoid posting leaks regarding RoN or other games, ect. This server is not intended to be a leak sharing platform.
Please see Discord's Community Guidelines regarding Copyright & Intellectual Property: "Do not share content that violates anyone's intellectual property or other rights."

Again, please direct message the redalert "TOC" (@austere valley) bluealert ticket-system bot under 'Mod Mail' on the user list if you have moderation-related reports, questions, or concerns.

🟥 General Moderation Actions:

The moderation in this server is carried out through warnings, mutes, and bans.
The duration of each action and when they are employed is ultimately up to moderator discretion.

Warn: A standalone warning often serves as a reminder of a server rule and is an optional leniency mostly for less serious offenses. Committing the same offense after a warn will result in a significant mute.
Mute: Usually if you have broken a rule a mute will be applied. This is often used for more serious or consecutive offenses of any rule, including violating more than one rule at once.
Ban: Bans are used for especially serious offenses, and will either occur upon the offense being committed or after previous consecutive offenses. Participation in the community in accordance to the rules is deemed not likely at the point of a ban. **

  • Ban appeal requests: After two weeks have passed since your ban, an appeal request through redalert @austere valleybluealert can be made.
Attempts to appeal earlier or through other means may decrease the chances of your appeal being granted.
If your appeal request is declined the decision is final.
If your ban appeal is granted, further offenses will result in an un-appealable ban
    * Bans and Mutes may carry over between communities.

Note: offenses that are over 6 months old may carry less weight depending on their severity.

🟥 General Offense Categories:

High level offenses are zero tolerance and will most often result in a swift ban.
Any action may occur at any point along these categories depending on the situation surrounding an offense.

Examples of different offense levels:

Low Level: Misusing text channels, Politics/Religion, Illegible name, Chatting in another language
Medium Level: Attacking other users, Advertisement, Spamming, Trolling, Misusing assigned roles
High Level: Racism/Bigotry/Attacks on a particular group of people, NSFW/NSFL content, Discord TOS/Community Guidelines violations, Harrassing mods/devs, Impersonation, Alt accounts, NDA breaks

  • NOTE: Any offenses that occur in Voice Channels (VCs) may be considered High Level regardless of offense type due to the relative obstacles in moderating them and lack of records unlike text chat. Given these aspects you are held to an even higher standard within them and it's difficult to trust against repeat offenses.

Once again, please contact redalert @austere valley bluealert if you have any moderation related concerns or questions.
