Very reasonable. My story on the insane PC is a little funny.

During my time at college to become a historian. I worked at SCAN (a British computer retailer) because I'm also interested in technology. I repaired, and upgraded one guys PC 6 times in the course of my 6 years at university.
Each year he would get the newest CPU & GPU of his brands. Which I would understand if maybe he was a streamer, or content creator. However he was just like you, and I!
It made me research into PC components a lot, because there was no way a new CPU would do so much better than the previous years CPU that it was noticable.
That's when I found the amazing Ryzen Threadripper, I have the 3990X. Which is a 64 core, 128 thread CPU.
I used to rock a 3090ti with it, however with the 5000 series of nVidia launched I decided to upgrade that too.

Oh I mean definitely not just reskins. It's a whole new source code. They basically rebuilt HLL from the bottom up with 10x better code. I've seen some of the original SC due to leakers for HLL before Team17 came in. It was a mess and had comments just like Mojang with "I don't know why it works, but it does" 🤣

The only issue they have with making HLL really, really, nice in just one big update:
Is the data that the community servers and the plugins they use rely on. They can't just change it all at once otherwise community servers would be unplayable for weeks. Either resulting in player loss, or overpacked official servers with long queues.

^ most of this knowledge is able to be obtained straight from their dev brief

Yeah, Team17 has a lot in store for HLL. However they have to do is slowly since it's an already existing game.
Just like Discord bots, the owners once their bot is big can't just do a major change in code without it breaking something else.

By no means is the game unplayable but being forced to stop using something entirely because the devs broke it (and don’t know how it broke allegedly) and are incapable of fixing it after a couple of patches shows that there is an issue with how the devs are currently handling the game

I did play the game at launch on PC and was forced to switch to console not long before its most recent release due to some circumstances ; the censorship is the least of my issues I’m more concerned about the fact that they fucked the AI even further, not to mention the graphics, clipping, CS gas, yada yada…

I appreciate how VOID is willing to represent some more taboo topics (which most companies don’t as you’ve pointed out), but the grittiness isn’t lost simply because they put some clothes on women

It most certainly is. The only way for that to be true, would be that you would have to only have played the game after these changes were made. Otherwise it IS less impactful since you know what was there originally.

My thoughts exactly. Had it been done entirely to expand into that market then fine. I don't like it but that's the cost of doing business. It shouldn't have had to affect me though. PC players who bought into this buggy game because they respected how principled the devs were are now punished for the sake of money and their inability to maintain two builds. And consoles players almost unanimously have a "fuck you got mine" mentality about the whole affair.

Yeah that’s where we agree since PC had to be impacted by it. Now I may disagree on the claim from some that the censorship significantly impacted the game’s grittiness, though I can definitely say PC got fucked really badly.
