is there anything being done regarding the Free Lean functionality not working
i didnt hear anything about it and i feels like it is mostly ignored
to me this feature is the core of the whole gameplay
(gameplay to me: get in, arrest everyone, get out unharmed)
it is very tough to get missions done correctly if you cant even look under a shelf to check for feet
or peek around a corner (and no, the lean left / right feature is not enough for that, you are basically already exposed when the lean left / right would let you peek, since your torso and knee will peek as well)

there is more to it than just left and right
its also way further out when only doing a left / right peek than the left / right peek actions
(you can also peek down and up, and if you have a shield, your feet are still exposed even when crouching, with the free lean down feature your feet will be covered when using the shield and gives your members a chance to shoot above the shield

Afaik the lean being blocked by things you'd normally be able to lean around is unintentional(?)

There is also a bug that disables leaning entirely, though this is not as common

find the Free Lean
try it out in solo
(using WASD keys you can lean while holding the free lean button, but it is way more effective than the E and Q lean options and offers a up and down peek as well, again, with a shield, you can even cover your feet when "free leaning down")
then go pick up a shotgun in a MP game and try to Free Lean a couple of times
you'll notice its not working or only sporadically

i am trying to get some closure on the "Free Lean sporadically not working" issue for clients
it has been about 6 weeks or so, and i dont see this issue being tracked in the know issues list
this issue feels very disruptive in the gameplay and it feels like a core feature
i have had some friends who i tried to convince to play, actually refund the game cause they felt like this issue not being addressed is a sign of rather not buying it. They said that a game that doesnt get a fix for core features seems dead or not properly maintained (again, no offense, just trying to get some closure)
there are quite a few reports in the #1050535723087958156 (just search "free lean") about this issue
yet it is not mentioned as a known issue, nor is there any reply from any moderator or dev on any of the reports
(actually just found it mentioned in the #❗known-issues-and-fixes channel i was looing at the #archived-known-issues channel
since every post in the #❗known-issues-and-fixes channel starts with "Please refer to the "official" ⁠known-issues for more information regarding issues. The list below is common bug reports and fixes, and is not indicative of Voids internal bug list."

This issue is very disruptive, not only because the feature is not working, but also because you might just walk out into the open, instead of just peeking a corner, since when the free lean just sporadically stops working, you are still using WASD and hence just move out of cover

and that is okay. We should still be respectful about it though
in any case, releasing a 1.0 version with a follow up comment of "we messed up but we dont know how" seems bad to some
to me that shows that the developers (or rather the development company) is openly and honestly communicating
however, if then nothing follows, it is logical that impatience comes on top of the frustration
in any case, some issues are hard to find yes, if there are synchronization issues between different threads
issues can arise that a developer just deems impossible
and finding the root cause of that is painful and difficult

There is Commander mode where you control a SWAT team and you have different missions

And each mission has lore that definitely ties into others

And nope, not a single cutscene

It's more so environmental story telling with minimal direct moments where you get told what happens, that's just in the premission optional briefing

It would be cool if they added scenarios other than hostage situations and always zip tying civilians. Bring in domestic violence situations or serving a search warrant that goes south. These are all good scenarios they have but basic plain clothes cop scenarios would be welcomed, IMHO

Its 100% worth it if you're willing to deal with common minor bugs or rare major bugs, I've had the game since beta and loved it despite the countless problems the games had since launch. Def worth the price tag if you're into milsims/tactical shooters, games like squad, siege, swat 4, ect

then again, might only affect you if it's when multiple people are in the lobby

yeah, to me its a core feature, i think it actually should be considered that, i dont think its feasable to play this on hard ai without this functionality
but it is only client side (weirdly enough, it is more common with shotguns for the clients, like some weapons seem to work towards this issue more than others)

and removing some really nasty child pornography stuff (when paying attention to the environment / game / mission "story")
the censorship isnt bad, its just some children being mad at not being able to go psycho
it is still an awesome game

And also respectfully Kaminsky is at the moment busy with Pax event together with Gerby. Before anyone says ‘void don’t care about the game and are at Pax instead’ only Kam and Gerby are there as part of marketing for the game. Actual devs are not present there. So Kaminsky not replying isn’t unheard of since he’s busy atm interacting with fans visiting Pax and content creators.

but it is very obvious, that the update cycle of this game got heavily cut
and introducing issues with a full release that pulled the game out of early access
but then not fixing anything and not communicating at all and just leave the broken mess behind on the full release
and reducing the update cycle even instead of working on it so the full release isnt worse than the early access version is unacceptable
but its only my opinion, you can have yours
