All the guns in game perform more or less exactly the same. There's no real advantage or disadvantage between any of them. And some rounds perform in ways that they shouldn't. And gun recoil is laughable.

In standard FPS games you could change their DPS and accuracy, but in this game all suspects go down in 2-3 shots and the gun's accuracy depends on the player's actual aim

From the standpoint you all seem to be taking: you're happy with all the guns being plain, unrealistic and identical to one another - seemingly all in the aims of "realism", which I'd be willing to postulate that none of you have sufficient real world experience to comment on such a thing. Not to mention that this video game already has very limited content, so diversifying the gun-play would hardly be a negative.

in FEAR, the original, they boasted how clever the AI was at the time. top Notch (for the time) and they actually got me! I was sneaking around and they spotted me but rather than just shoot, they didn't. Instead they set me up, and had a guy draw my eyeline, and another snuck up on me and point blanked me with a shot gun. Was really cool honestly

To be fair, ignoring the gameplay, the ARs all have different enough designs/roles to justify being separate
ARWC - Modernized 'Tactical' AR
BCM - Partially-modernized AR
DMP4PDW - Ultra-compact integrally silenced .300 blk PDW
MK18 - Retro AR
SR-16 - Modernized 14.5" AR

A lot of the other weapons have similar controls to the AR-15 but are otherwise seperate platforms from it
