SWAT AI suck at breaching and there is no request command for them to hand you one of their grenades so its unreliable at best

a simple rework to the slot economy I think is whats needed. SMG mags should not be worth the same as AR mags, same for a single grenade or pepperspray

My preferences range from
Soft change- make some things like SMG mags give you more for the cost of 1 slot. So putting 1 into an SMG mag gives you two mags, stuff like that
Harder change- still involving slots kinda but made more like insurgency, everything costs points including the guns themselves, armour helmets magazines and so on and are each worth different values. Lets you get more wacky with loadouts so you can simply not take a primary and spend all the points on tons of grenades
SEF change - weight system
no mercy for terrorists removes that issue

I like the idea of having to buy guns maybe only for commander mode. Add a budget system to commander depending on how well you do. You know how you have those options for cops you can hire make some of them cost more but they have more expierence or bonuses.

commander mode should have the missions in chronological order

In that game you manage a SWAT-like element and you get called to procedurally generated handcrafted levels (as in the levels are handcrafted but the mission objectives and situations can be different)
My only complaint about RONs music is it feels like its not used enough for some missions

I kinda liked that with SWAT 4, if something loud happened the music kicked in and it added to the intensity
RONs music sometimes feels like it kicks in way too slow
Swat 4 main menu theme is nice but I would consider the second Ron theme called “Special weapons and tactics” and honest to god masterpiece

Combat music plays when multiple suspects are interacting with you at once, so it can happen without a gunfight going on just as long as theirs shit happening with a lot of noise.

They certainly could have done more with the music to make it even more dynamic
having bits of the music that change depending on the breach type a bit louder higher tempo for bangs and stingers and sort of slight intensity but still calm for CS
And things just going a bit more crazy when a firefight starts

LSS takes place in 2024 and BP takes place in 2028-9

First reflection on my end is that there is a gap between Boiling Point and the rest of RoN.
In the rest of RoN, LS is a decaying city of crime. In Boiling Point, people got up and grabbed pitchforks and torches, plus terrorists are like taking whole buildings down.
That is true but they have shown clear improvement in the dlc cycle. Adam update maps that were touched up (for example valley of the dolls) show a clear worse writing style then stuff from the dlc cycle for example or 1.0 maps like hide and seek. I like seeing the improvement it makes me happy for them.
I want to see improvements its why I complain so much haha

SWAT 3 is such a somewhat campy but still dark 99 vision of 2005 with the swat team ensuring a peace treaty signing by stopping terrorists plots and ends with a nuclear disarmament and feels so much more hopeful and pre 9/11 lmao
SWAT 4 is just grim and a lot more grounded compared to swat 4

All the vanilla maps could do with some better voice lines from Judge, TOC and the element commenting on things around them while obviously not being too on the nose
A debrief for missions could be nice too to contextualise outcomes
But something I REALLY want is interview tapes of VIP suspects if you take them alive

There is some holes in the writing, some briefings arent that well written imo, leave out some details that would be nice, some just getting things wrong to the point it cant be intentional.

It's not realistic for a swat team to handle a situation like A new America, but the priority would be to save civilians. The bomb threat complicates things, it would require an EOD team to be on site and ready
RON certainly likes its missions that are unreasonable for a swat team to handle
a lot of missions, but I really don't mind. I just roleplay as a tier one unit, FBI HRT whatever. I would like some simple, smaller missions tho. Arrest warrants, barricaded suspects in regular houses or apartments

If RoN had an accurate scale of tactics and officer/SWAT involvement to suspects, it would be a pretty boring game
first off, 5 guys handling the vast majority of missions is not realistic in itself, disregarding whether its a swat type mission or not
It obviously has to be a bit over the top but doesnt have to be of the level ron goes to
I know briefings talk about other teams and other entry points, but still
SWAT 4 glaze incoming but that game has plenty of missions a swat wouldnt really handle but manages to feel believable to a degree
A good chunk of RONs (though mostly the DLC ones) are not believable in the slightest
I don’t disagree that I’d like to see a batch of more grounded missions, though. Simple stuff like suburban calls, or incidents at stores/smaller industrial areas
I like to believe that the game takes place in the same universe as cyberpunk given the amount of fearless schizoradicals we fight. Even security guys and PMCs are exited to gun down cops in Los Suenos

ones set well out of reasonable bounds for a metropolitan swat like the dark water missions, huge terror threats like a new america
You can have tricky suspects that dont give up easily but if they were mobsters, cartel and usual crooks it wouldnt feel so out of place
the vanilla maps do mostly consist of that which is good
its just some missions really feel like they jump the shark
The enemies in most of the missions are vanilla bandits
Honestly after the current DLC I wonder if it would even be possible to keep escalating without D platoon going rogue or Los Suenos descending into civil war

Ready or Not is a video game so it must be getting harder and larger scale as you go further into the story so escalating and jumping the shark isn’t exactly a confusing decision from the developers. You can’t just have 15 levels straight of firefights featuring like at most 7 gangbangers

suspect equipment and specific gimmicks.
Dorms for example plays quite differently because of all the crawl spaces for suspects and civvies to go through, greased palms is a cluttered mess with few doors, neon tomb has loud music and lights that can make things a bit trickier
the levels need to challenge player restraint and tactics more than shooting
They should continue missions like bank, Bank was probably the most unique map in the game. If there is a next dlc it should have a gimmick for each level, They dont have to be too crazy but have a gimmick that is noticable. This DLC made GREAT progress with that but they can go further.
id actually like to see another map that obstructs night vision significantly like neon did, it was a cool concept snd emphasized flashlight usage
ANA’s ir traps were also a cool gimmick bc you’d never expect to be needing to use nods in a daylight map
AnA is an amazing mission imo suspects that actually interact with the enviroment and you can actual do stuff to mess with their ability. The MLO suspects turning on the fire alarm to distract you, Even them shooting fire extinguishers all amazing.

i prefer to disarm them to keep the suspects split up to pick them off
The less stealthy you are the more aggressive they will be and the more alert they will be. Not fun.

No map in this game is easy, And I personally think No Good Deed is heavily underrated

i did use it to s rank relapse where it can be kinda better than the beanbag
the beanbag even though it stuns targets in one shot can have its issues like accidentally headshotting the suspects (AI teammates can fuck this up) and if you miss your shots you're likely gonna die
with teh flash grenade you barely have to aim and it affects more than one enemy
the trade off is less ammo but if you use your shots really well it might as well not be a problem
