I have clicked on that, picked up a couple new maps.
My quesiton is: could someone tell me step-by-step how to launch these maps ?
(The last time I heard of mod maps, they were like landmark icons on the bottom right of the mission select screen)
Should just show up somewhere on the mission select screen when you load up quick play I would assume
Havent actually played any custom maps this update yet

you just need to hit them with nonlethal and create distance, if you're within around 5-10meters they won't surrender
They do surrender. I had them surrender multiple times which is kinda surprising given my habit of going with beanbag shotgun

Nexus is one of the many reasons I don't even bother with manual modding anymore
I've never had an issue with nexus and I have never been able to use mod.io in ready or not so for me, nexus is the only good option
It could not be easier for this game: you just unzip and place in \steamapps\common\Ready Or Not\ReadyOrNot\Content\Paks

If I would know what screwed up the game I wouldn't be wasting my time trying to figure out how to avoid manually messing with modding. My point is the game got borked when I attempted it manually hence why I don't want to attempt that again.
In any case given that supposedly the maps are installed, but they don't show up anywhere in the game - or I have no clue where I should be finding them - I can consider this as another borked attempt too
Currently they get downloaded to the wrong directory, so they don't get loaded
Technically you can move the file to the correct spot and it works

It worked before the DLC launch, but they seemed to have messed something up. In fact, it currently goes to the location mods were downloaded to during early access.

It does mess with my zen some fierce when I have like 1 hour to play some after a work day, and I end up spending it with trying to figure out why something doesn't work
every single time i've marked a suspect as DOA and cuffed them they immediately got back up again and went into the cuffed position
why is that? i mean judge says that the suspect is dead when he marks them as doa but they get back up again
and why would they need to play dead
the suspect's hope is that you will neglect cuffing them, and they can pop back up behind you as you move past. Or to escape. Either way folks consider suspects less of a threat when they think they are dead. When you cuff them anyway, despite them playing dead, they figure "welp, I'm busted, I might as well stop pretending" in the hopes of getting medical treatment sooner

Clear everything on the first floor while avoiding the dance floor and dance floor bathrooms, then clear the second story, dance floor and bathrooms last.
Up on the second story at the DJ booth, look down at his DJ deck and you'll get a prompt to hold F to turn off the music

Center first story dance floor, first story bathhouse and the 2nd story dance area are the deadliest because of how many angles the suspects can pixel-peek you from, the bathhouse is especially dangerous because the stairway area there has glass above that suspects will see you through but you won't see them until they start shooting.

Beyond the shield the other back options just let you open locked doors or fling nades farther, the mirror gives you intel so it's definitely uniquely useful
Optimally the player carries the wand, ai carry every other back tool.

also idk why but the breach shotgun has been taking like 3 bullets or more to open a wooden door

Usually not
They turn much slower, and have worse aim. Though headshots still happen, and shooting through walls after seeing you isn't going anywhere

Just played '23 Megabytes A Second ' twice. Went to stack on the front door of the floor 2, far apartment. Was engaged through the closed door as I approached. I'd say wmaybe they were waiting on me? But the person firing is on the far side of the room, outside of hearing range, and firing through obstacles in the room itself. Other than that, I'd say AI improved since I played last December.

Yeah! If you're talkin about the balaclavas, you can find em when you go to customize your character in multiplayer lobbies. Under the character drop down menu, in the customization tab, scroll all the way down and you should find ones labeled Echo, they're the ones with the masks.
You can only select em in Multiplayer lobbies sadly, cause your default and only character in commander mode and quick play is Judge.

Performance wise, probably yeah. I think the main drawback is just trying to convert all the keyboard controls to controller. Some people manage to run it with the steam deck, but heck it has a lot more buttons and customizability than the usual controller. So it's probably gonna be a long time before we ever see a console port
And btw, i mean with medium to low graphics on steam deck ron
I tried playing Ron on my deck, and it was feeling a pretty big hit to performance, but if I tried messing with the settings it could probably be pretty passable
I've heard of a couple people playing Ron on the steam deck as their main way of playing, so I guess its pretty doable
Also im only asking because i asked in a lobby on tavr āshould i get a pc or a steam deck for ron, ground branch, and operatorā and they all said get a pc.

But now, if you had a hostage situation and you didnt wanna alert the hostage taker, it would be authorized in that scenario and could be really useful

Iām pretty sure theyāve nerfed it, prior to DLC release the stinger launcher was so op. You could fire point blank and you wouldnāt get stunned. But now you get stunned all the time if you donāt fire far enough lol.

with the current ai there really isnt much you can do because they're just so stubborn and aggressive.
Things like breaching doors and the like should affect their morale but it never seems nearly as impactful as grenades. So really the only way to get a surrender in gameplay is grenades and less lethal weapons

just breach slowly but not too slowly, don't rush too, check your surroundings before entering. also if you're paranoid (like me) just use a riot shield when you enter a room

Most maps donāt even cook files in the Ready or Not directory, so maps are basically independent from Ready or Not (with the exception of referenced assets, which mimic the file path of the game to spawn objects. Although even referenced assets donāt conflict with the game)
When making a mod map, creators bring in content from outside the game. UltraDynamicSky, Megascans, MSPresets, mod files, etc. Since these files are not in the game files, they must be cooked. Conflicts start to happen when two mods have cooked files with the same name and in the same directory. This happens often, since most mappers follow a similar layout in their UE5 project.

Conflicts can be resolved by either changing the directory of the files being cooked, or changing the name of the file being cooked (like how I added Matthew onto the end of the megascans master material)
Yeah, most of the time it can be fixed by renaming. However, itās annoying when someone reports something and it turns out to be a conflicting issue since they have 200 other maps installed.

The main reason conflicts happen are when an asset of a mod replaces the asset of another mod. However, the only time this causes conflicts are when the assets are different. I imagine that SWATorNot maps donāt conflict with each other. Although they use the same files, same directory, same name, they are the same since they all come from the same project.

That would be a solution, it would just be hard to get everyone coordinating to use the third party mod.
There are issues with it though.
If the mod adds third party stuff separately from the map mods, it prevents the creator from making changes to the third party content. This is often necessary for stuff like UltraDynamicSky, as its materials, textures, and blueprints often need to be changed to match the creatorās needs.
Itās all just a balancing act, until the SDK comes along.
Also, if they do somehow make changes, they will conflict with every single map with that asset.

The F90 can use rifle optics while the g36 can only use pistol optics, so it's mostly up to personal preference
The UMP has high stopping power but poor penetration, high-ish recoil, low firerate, and lower-than-average mag capacity. The MP7 takes an extra shot than the UMP to down suspects, but has higher penetration, lower recoil, drastically faster firerate, and a much larger magazine

No shield, no nvg, no lockpick, no nades. You can only spawn in and pull out the magnum and nothing else.
Keep your AI from using nades and wedges/lockpick as well

get two negotiators and an officer with the +chance of nonlethal ammunition causing a surrender, its like a 50% chance they comply when you yell at them and then each pepper ball has like a 25% chance to cause a surrender as well. Source: Trust me

why AI officers can't disarm booby traps on doors anymore?
think they only do it if they actually spotted it instead of just know the door is trapped
gas grenades and a lot of luck, i got it a couple weeks ago. It's hard af, but not impossible
they should still be able to, you just have to order them to do it

With dx12 for whatever reason when it tries to load anything it takes a few more seconds than it would in dx11. so I just go with 11

Idk what their plans are for future DLC, but after Greased Palms and Hide and Seek we need some missions where we knock FISA down a peg or two. Raid a FISA office, break into some executive with the groups mansion to arrest them, etc etc
the magnum, if you want something semi auto probably the five seven? it pierces armor pretty good
I sure was hoping the AI will be better with the 1.0 release... But here I have AI teammates, staning in the line of fire, not even trying to move, and trying to hit a suspect and exchange fire with the guy from half map away, until they run out of ammo, then swap to secondary and continue to do the same thing.
And don't even get me started on the arresting animation, making both the teammate and the suspect slide all over the place to start the cuffing animation, mostly putting my guy in a position where he is exposed to angles of attack.
But hey at least the suspects are still superhuman. They might use iron sights and do spray-n-pray from half map away but they can still hit you in the head with the spending of a magazine or so before I would even find where they shoot from.
Pre 1.0 at least I could use my AI teammates to pinpoint the attacker, by equipping them with IR lasers, because they did point right at the threats.

The beanbag gun is a projectile but it has infinite lethal headshot range 
Instead of having a damage multiplier beanbag headshots just tell NPCs health to go to 0, lmao.

Also slugs are another good tool, because they either incap to torso, or have a 10,000% (no im not kidding) arterial bleed chance on upper limb hits.
Apparently someone didn't notice the field for bleed chance, being 0-1, was not 0-100, so they put 100, resulting in a 10,000% chance for bleed, at least that's MMMM's theory.
The t2 or t1 sights can be mounted on carry handles, or they could just let it be irons.
Most of the optics in this game are pretty poopy so I wouldn't be upset to see carry handles as an option to replace default irons/certain optics

They should really have a priority to first clear sightlines, then evidence, and then arrest suspects/civvies.
They need the agency to close doors to secure sightlines if they need to in order to be safe while securing something, as well.
I should be able to point out a suspect or civvie, or piece of evidence, and either blue or red element will work together to cover one another and make sure they're good to let their gun down for a moment to tie some people up and bag some things. I shouldn't need to worry 1 guy running into the middle of an open room and then being ambushed and killed because he didn't think to have someone come with him, or even check his corners.

wtf is going on with the partial covers? I see a suspect, dude has his upper chest, arms and heads exposed, I unload with beanbags on the guy and the impacts happening at the object instead on him. I have seen this multiple times but until now I was unsure if I have seen it right. My entire AI team did the same shooting at the same target, none of the beanbags have hit the suspect

I breached the near large garage at the back of dealer, a suspect inside managed to slip away from the larger area hearing the breach and decided to literally loop the entire map in an attempt to flank us I suppose. But by the time he got there we were gone, so he just sat and camped that spot until I cleared the rest of the level and he was the last suspect
so of course he then decided to rush us, sprinting accross the map and into the dealer and got killed

well just now, my AI team is standing around picking their noses while I get shot at by 1 suspect I make him comply and surrender and another suspect opens up on me, emptying 2 mags at me, never once shooting at the team, and never once my team engaging the shooter. A+ for the devs for releasing the game into 1.0 with this kind of mess.
I just really want forced high ready to be completely disabled for EVERYTHING except clip brushes. This means plants will not kill you, and neither will random clutter on a desk that stops you from aiming in a free lean partial crouch.
Walls and doors can force high ready, everything else, including NPCs, cannot. There is no reason I cannot tuck the butt of my rifle or shotgun under my shoulder to shoot the methhead that gets up in my face. Maybe it wouldn't feel the best to shoot it that way, but it'll feel better than getting stabbed, likely.
The forced high ready mechanic is the most inconsistent, obnoxious, annoying, unintuitive, and pointless mechanic this game has. It only creates frustration, and has never made sense to me. Times where I should be able to aim, I cannot, times where I think I should not be able to aim, I can.
I understand the idea behind it, but this game doesn't benefit from its current implementation in any significant way, it's just another reason to play a different game instead, atm.
A lot of mechanics in this game could really use a 2nd pass to make them less experience ruining, tbh. There's no reason to make finding civilians on a huge map even MORE tedious, especially after all of the armed contacts have been dealt with.
Also VOID please for fucks sake give 10mm and 7.62x39 different damage curves from .45ACP and .300blk respectively, already. Nobody wants .45ACP but there's more recoil. Nobody wants .300blk but there's more recoil.

mods are located on the PAK folder inside the game directory.
should look something like this D:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Ready Or Not\ReadyOrNot\Content\Paks
unless youre using mod.io which in this case, i have no clue where they store those. lmao

I had to fiddle with the map I was downloading to get it to pop up. Purged my mods, reinstalled the mods, and then the modded levels tab showed for me

ron sound tracks so good, i wish they played more often. If it were up to me, i'd create something similar to payday 2 where the soundtrack where the song has parts to it and the part that plays is in accordance to whats happening to the player.

I would probably prioritize cuffing suspects, because unlike evidence, they can pull another gun on you, or run away which can lead to you spending 20 more minutes sweeping the entire map again. Pre 1.0 I even had one such search ending with an accidental triggering of a trap then a mission fail as result.

Is the lag in co-op mode a common issue that never got fixed in RoN? Host usually doesn't have any lag problems but the other lobby members do, same country.
is there any tips to lower lag when im playing on generally any objective? itās one of those Microsoft laptops btw. itās kinda annoying when I keep lagging constantly, i just got killed cuz of it.
the game is peer to peer so if host has a terrible connection (low up and/or down bandwidth) everyone will suffer, or if the host is using a vpn

I am looking for a mod that adds CS pistol and CS ammo to the game or that it generally introduces in the game.
At the moment, pistols can only be used with live ammunition or without ammunition.
The problem in single player is that the NPCs draw the pistol in some situations. They then shoot sharply, enemies die or without ammunition, the NPCs are killed sooner or later.

i thought that you suppose to cuffed all civis before encountering any suspects and have to apprehend/kill them
I was only running less leathal gear with the beanbags, so the suspects are not "neutralized" in the meaning of them incidentally passing away.
I think you can acthieve S if you down the suspects as long as you hit all the objectives, secure all the evidence and save all the civilians
no, you can only get S rank when you completed all objectives, cuffed all suspect alive and well(not even incap), cuffed all civis alive and well, get all evidences on the map
