You made it about majority satisfaction, when it was about notable dissatisfaction.

People come into RoN with all kinds of expectations. My goal is not to invalidate the major criticisms, see literally my entire history in this discord attempting to make the game better via feedback/reports/spreadsheets and videos explaining issues, my only point was that with the only available metric we have (steam) the majority of people are satisfied AND the issues that many long-time-fans see just don't reach most of the playerbase. (laser misalignment still broken kekw, 5 months of damage being broken)
People who come in with low/average expectations and are still disappointed I honestly don't care much about. The genre probably isn't for them, comparatively there is nothing on the market that does what RoN does. (also I'm doing it again, which I hate, le-indie-dev)
Bugs suck, Void has a hard time pushing patches to fix front-facing issues, and in hindsight, having every single AI work independently (which makes scripted events seeming impossible) is a real bad decision.
Why are we talking so much about the playerbase 'ignoring the issues', isn't that 95% of what we talk about here?
The only people who come into discord/forums are looking for groups to play or looking to complain

Playerbase ignoring issues? Yes because the 5k avg people who play per day have fun and usually don't give a shit. People play goof fucked bug filled games and still have fun. Do I myself wanna see shit fixed sure but I'm not letting random stuff like bugs ruin my fun unless it's incredibly game breaking.
I'm personally going to wait for more improvements before I commit to playing through the entire campaign, but I did have a great time during the missions I tried

For the first part I can say for certain, if the change over to UE5 was going to happen pre 1.0, then we'd be getting 1.0 now instead of a DLC and the engine revamp

Just seen the teaser for the hurricane, imagine if the new update involved the level during the hurricane, not only having the worry about being attacked from suspects, also worrying about being harmed during the hurricane depending on the circumstances. A long shot, though would be crazy. Could also lead to the introduction of being in the role of the national guard responding to a situation in the future given the national guard being deployed during the natural disasters like hurricanes such a riots, looting or something like that

Swat was just balanced in a way you were rewarded for stealth and less lethal was always an option except for the obvious shit hit the fan missions
You were rewarded in the sense that the AI wouldn't be as likely to 180 makarov you in the face, but otherwise the game is pretty forgiving overall, except for actual S ranks.

Swat 3 was a little less forgiving
Only reason I haven't completed it is because I want to S-rank it all and can't get past like the 4th mission because the AI will just snap shoot you in the leg, or your teammates legs

Yea like how on the gas station thereās a police car barricade but no officers the same on the other maps even tho in one of there announcements they said they would be adding them
Well, they have the animations for them that they haven't implemented yet so the idea is still there
It would be cool to see more police activity on the maps beside just swat like maybe some dead officers or something scattered thru out but hopefully they implement it in the dlc š
Maybe even have officers outside to get back to and hand over suspects to complete a mission instead of it just finishing when you've done all the objectives.
I have noticed if you tell civilians to run to the exit they will go there and get arrested so there is a form of that already but only for the civs
Alot of things could be added to be fair. Maybe even 1-2 missions where you do a helicopter insertion with UH-60's since SWAT is provided with those. Maybe even Bell 407's or Eurocopter AS350's.
Would be dope to see more diversity.
Something like that for the port would be nice but then again there is already the entrance by boat with stealth also some more joint ops missions or ones like a lethal obsession that delve into the backstory of are character
Maybe undercover missions, bomb threats in really crowded area's where you have to find the threat and then act on it, vip escorts/protection etc.
Prison riot controls, evacuations, vehicle interdictions maybe?
Or maybe even a scouting phase where you are a regular LSPD officer, and you respond to a call with another one of your buddies, where you can see the events that led to the situation you are plopped into as a SWAT.
Comparable to the payday map, where you see different jobs popping up with different voice logs playing that give you a small background to the job you're abt to take
Due to the game being in the perspective of a SWAT officer, it most likely wouldn't fit into what they're trying to do. Still a good idea in general tho.

Im not so sure. I wouldnt think of it as more than a play-once scenario for singleplayer. Strictly an option for story reasons.
And it would also depend on the scenario, obviously LSPD officers wouldn't be responding to a situation as shown in rust belt.

A helicopter insertion would for sure be a really dope thing. Some sort of "neutralize a high-profile criminal or terrorist group conducting a hostage situation inside the building". Of course, you'd wanna make sure that there is a good reason for there being a helicopter so maybe say like "negotiations have failed, and it is believed the syndicate is preparing to execute their demands within the next hour. The building's security systems are heavily fortified, and traditional ground approaches are deemed too risky due to potential traps and heavy resistance". Maybe make it a skyscraper map? Something like the Ziba Tower from Battlefield would be awesome.

let's imagine you're a swat operator in ron, you have the upper hand, you don't stomp like you've eaten an entire mcdonald's, and you take a suspect by surprise. this suspect doesn't have their gun in ready position, they aren't looking directly at you, but they are aware that swat is doing a raid. what happens? the suspect reacts way faster than you, so despite having that upper hand of surprising the suspect, they still get their gun into a ready position, aim at you and take a shoot, all while you were already aiming at them, ready to shoot
solution? never directly engage with UNAWARE suspects because the game can't be bothered to provide you with a fair AI behavior

port is just finding everybody from my experience, postal has those long sightlines with a ton of very slim gaps between pieces of concealment that the suspects like to no-scope headshot you from, especially outside, but bringing a ton of door wedges is always a good idea to cut off potential ambushes while you are clearing a different portion
Not everyone has the same opinion as you. That's one of the reasons why the game is still on Mostly positive and not Mixed or Negative.

oh yeye
yup, my preferred method for that is bring a lot of door wedges, start outside, clear the office right at spawn, once you get to the hallway that goes to the loading bay to the left with the main mail room being accessed from the two doors on your right, you wedge those 3, then go back outside, head westward and wedge all the doors going between the inside and outside, go back and do the west after, be careful when doing the west lot with the loading bays because there are long sightlines and quite a few corners where you have to be mindful of.

Stuttering happens when the game is loading shaders, it will disappear with time as you play (until next driver update). I think DX11 helps but you get overall less FPS, something like that.

There is no visual indication on the paperdoll about shots that hit your torso unless you take damage.
Ceramic takes no damage until it breaks (can sometimes be more than 13 shots).
Meanwhile the paperdoll will show the first hit to any limb. Basically just bias from misleading visual information

The way the game works isn't what is in the cinematic
In the briefing it says he killed his mum and has his brother hostage but when you get there the bother isn't tied up and says "what are you doing to my brother" or something like that and there's a woman in the other apartment which looks like she could be the mum and there's no body anywhere

All my runs were non lethal. SA58 Only kills if limb causes arterial bleeding, 2 shot chest or headshot. If you shoot them once in the chest it'll be just an incap and not death.
That's why you do gas station non lethal to bring it back to normal
It's faster to do it that way.

Arresting 1 suspect alive will offset 1 or 2 killed/incaped suspects, but only if YOU kill them and not your teammate
