There's these two suspects on brisa cove who are just exchanging fire at eachother for some reason

Also because buck or birdshot pellets will bounce off the door, and possibly injure someone. Frangible rounds in the breaching shotgun mostly disintegrate on impact, transferring more force and are safer generally.

there are no servers, the game is peer to peer
someone and me (in the same region) have played before a few monthsa go, trying to again, exact same mods, even no mods, they join and instantly get booted
probably there arent that many in your region but yeah #๐looking-for-players helps
is it just me or after i installed the game i lost all my clothes that i unlocked a long time ago
i still have my saves but all the clothes that i unlocked b4 are locked now
when i pressed alt f4 on ready or not when i came back i lost everything

I try not to use C2 for the reason that it puts civilians on the other side of the door in danger, I try to just use the shotgun

swat bot dont care if the shield visor is cracked, they can still shoot accurately with their five seven
well yeah AI does AI things but the game should probably be balanced around players not bots
void see players kill suspects instead of arresting them, get angry, make suspect actively fighting players instead of simulating irl suspect to "punish" players
SWAT AI is RNG a lot of the times, usually in the player's favor though
when work then they work as intended, if fail then they gonna fail miserably
some situations make suspects into john wick
if a suspects gets line of sight with you, no matter how ridiculously stupid or unspottable that LoS is, he will lock onto you and shoot for like 5 seconds straight with solid accuracy
so a guy exposes like half his head from a window 20 meters away and suddenly you're getting wrecked through a wall
i wish i knew what the stat differences where between the shotguns that load slower versus the ones that load faster that are supposed to make using the slower re-loading shotgun more beneficial, im sure its something, i just dont know what it is

every shotgun i've used wrecks people in 1 shot. i don't think pumps have an advantage
its not the pump versus none-pump, i mean the 870 and m1014 have super fast reloading of each shell and the B1301 and Supernova both reload really slowly, shell by shell
it's an odd one if that's all it is
particularly since the 1301 has better ergonomics and a feeding ramp which makes it faster to reload than the benelli m4 does
i agree that 870 and beneli have very cool reloads and i wish all shotguns reloaded like that cuz i love it
also i'm sad that the 870 doesn't look as cool when you're holding it vs on the menu
i like both, i just suspected there was a difference in how the guns show that were meant to balance that out
its the loading style, m4 and 870 load while 8 shells in your hand so you just need to put it in instead of b1301 and nova where you have to reach individual shell from the pouch to load into the gun
yeah but i would figure that if they're going to make the reloading twice as long there is something that balances that out

b1301 and nova hold 9 shells while m4 and 870 hold 8
and also better recoil control

There's an option to save replays in the settings, that's all you need

Level 4 plates, and a good easy to control weapon with good AP like BRN-180
The rest is up to aim and situational awareness skill

sometimes bots will start going off into connected rooms after clearing one
I had a bot walk off into the tunnels in Twisted Nerve after I told them to clear the garage
the bots can be fucked up and need you to tell them to follow you before issuing another command

You guys have an explaination for the character UI at the bottom left of the screen, I donโt know whether Im near dead or just having a bullet in my arm

When something goes red, it means you're hit there
When something goes dark red/brown, it means it's a broken limb
The outline of your character is your overall health. White is full, with darker reds being close to death
If you helmet gets shot you, you can see that it's removed from your character
also, if you hear medical beeping after getting shot it means you better watch yourself because you're near death
and you are always 2 bullets away from dying in this game no matter what you do

you can kick with red leg if you have kicker in team, but only till it's not broken
there's really no reason to kick a door anyway
just lockpick everything and then open from a distance

Ron does supply different tools as such, leaning, the wand, teammates covering, and it emphasizes the importance of all those things. Standing there reloading 8 shells like a moron while getting plinked by a makarov is just pathetic and awkward, calling it for educational purposes is to me disingenuous
I wonder how many people don't know you can reload cancel shotguns (which should still be improved because it cancels after like 1-2 more shells)

Its not that difficult to have an ai cover you or a friend if you are reloading, wether the ai covers you or not thats a whole separate issue with the teammates having brain damage.

The G36 or the MK18 are my favorites currently, they're both super reliable with the g36 having literally 0 recoil and it downs people with 2 shots to the chestt

From the vanilla game prob the MK18, tho I have a modded Q Honey Badger since it's hands down my favorite gun

i think less coverage/different armor type affect running speed, due to weight
It just decides where you have plates, if you dont have coverage in one side it's automatically filled with kevlar
There's no point to not running all sides unless you're running steel or you like using light armor
Light armor only allows front and back at most, heavy allows all three. But if you are running steel you suffer from movement acceleration penalty for every plate (front, back, and side) you use.
No reason to ever run steel IMO, unless you are using a mod to increase your health by a lot. If you are, then the reduced damage through steel might give you survivability better than breaking plates from ceramic.

Hello there. I have the biggest question about Ready or Not. You see, I want to play the game on my Steam Deck on the go, but I am having the hardest time trying to figure things out. I know for a fact that there's not official Steam layout for the deck so I am left with having to come up with my own controls to play the game, but doing so has made this even more difficult! Is there like a well suited layout here or is there one in the works I could try out for.l the game?

I think you'll just have to wait until the game gets official developer support for steamdeck. Or perhaps when they decide to add controller support it might get better as well.
There is mostly implemented controller bindings in the files, but I think they just gave up on it at some point when they realized there are too many keybinds.

Pulling out cuffs
dedicated grenade button
dedicated utility button (taser, c2, wedge)
stance mode (it's useful, but not necessary)
crouching
weapon down stance(makes you move faster)
teammates cameras
Ceramic is also currently bugged, making it the best armor in the game

i do use
crouch: less noise, taking cover peeking corners
low ready: move faster, take cover faster
teammates cam: we play tactically, we check them to be aware of where our teammates are.
dedicated tools: prepare for door wedging before i even approach the door. Too many times got door kicked in the face, because wedging with mouse pointing takes too long.

push door open with your shoulder: no
push door wide open with Open Door action: yes they hear this
Also, aren't some attachments just outright superior than others with the amount of stats
kicking door is a guarantee that they will shoot thu door also.

provided you're walking/crouching. They will hear running.

They can, but they have to walk very close to the wire. It doesn't happen very often.
If it's a frag trap they won't die, just be staggered instead.
why do the bombers on neon club never surrender, i have tried s ranking and with 5 people yelling for compliance+beanbags vks taser and melee still doesnt surrender

There is a bug where S-vest suspects will sometimes not surrender if a swat member is too close. You and your team need to be farther away, preferably backing up while they are still stunned.
that explains it, every time ive had that issue we all have been surrounding them
they can accidentally trigger them randomly across the map from you for no reason
otherwise you could have people dying 1000% out of your control
yeah i get that, which would sometimes be super annoying, but other times it would just be hillarious

Although I guess I've never set up a Rube Goldberg machine to set off a grenade and I've only been shot at by SWAT once or twice before, I wouldn't be very experienced with the subject
from the Ukraine war footage Ive seen, grenades can definitely fuck you up without killing you, so maybe knocking enemies down is actually legit
I feel like a good compromise would be:
If an npc activates the trap; only incapacitate anyone in the blast range.
If a player activates the trap; it behaves as normal
incapacitates and kills are counted as the same thing though

arrested civilian is +35 points, an incapacitated civilians is +5, like a suspect, so there is a difference
I haven't really accidentally incapacitated one since then, but this one time when I accidentally incapacitated a civilian pre-1.0, I got points off for unauthorized use of force, but no penalty for a civilian killed
I know, I'm talking about the "CIVILIAN KILLED" penalty

Nah, I played Valley of Dolls a lot pre-1.0 and Voll spawned in either the kitchen or the theater room 99% of the time
He used to be in the basement + roam outside a lot too. But yes still biased to inside
The best way for levels to remain fresh especially with the current systems we have in place is having suspects in completely unexpected places
I don't recall ever seeing Voll outside of those areas but maybe RNGesus decided to make things easy for me

I think this problem is most prevalent on Brisa Cove where the map designers added in so many bathrooms, closets, and other small areas only for suspects to not spawn in them at all
It needs to keep you in this constant loop of being a "new player" with dynamic and emergent gameplay
Imo the hard suspect nerf still needs to be walked back. Not all the way, but really needs to be bumped back up

You can put the raw paks in a mods folder and put it in the paks folder and it will work. But you cannot put the rars you download in and expect them to work, the game will not read them

Gunfighter has different parts, you only need to download the all in one if you want to use it all
I would say create a mods folder and put all the mods in that one folder. I don't know if the game is gonna work right if you put different mods in different folders.
The all in one is one download. Gunfighter has the core all in one mod and then the individual parts of the mod incase you want one thing but not the others.

im beginning to think that as far as the weapons are concerned, 5.56 is for armored enemies, while 300 blk is for unarmoured enemies
unarmoured enemies tend to be in larger groups, while armoured enemies are less numerous
maybe even SMGs would be better for unarmoured enemies that 300 blk
normally it doesn't matter that much, but on zero armor playthroughs, each shot counts in a way it usually doesn't as much
That's really going to take looking at the stats on what the rounds actually do in game.
IRL I'd say the opposite would be true. .300bl would be a round that defeats armour quite easily but doesn't do much damage past that on account of the smaller bullet; something I'd load with hollow points because the added power behind the round would make up for the armour pen issues that may arise from the hollow point.

I am aware of issues but I dont feel like any of them are so glaring they make the game unplayable to the point they need to be urgently fixed
Like sure they can be a pain but i come across them intermittently
The most intrusive issue ive found is the ragdoll physics when you incapacitate a subject and then restrain them
The only really annoying bug ive noticed (that has happened once is 2 npcs spawning on a box in the 23 Megabytes mission making it so they wouldnt put there hands up so we had to shoot a civ
I just dont understand why you feel the necessity to be so insufferable about it when these developers are seemingly working hard
