I've read posts and comments about saitama's origin skill and to use it often... what is this talking about?

how necessary is it to upgrade things on saitama? like I'm at 230 and he still one shots basically everything
I'm a noob that doesn't even understand how upgrading works in the game so I want to avoid it if possible
and do I really need to do prereq quests to do bosses for the event?

You'll want to buy the potential and bonus potential scrolls once you've got some meso - apply them to all your gear.
Prioritize getting your weapon to legendary potential and cubing for attack % or boss %
Your glove will be able to roll critical damage % at legendary rank so prioritize that after weapon
There are also attack scrolls for your fairy heart in the shop - just buy them as you can and use on heart for extra damage

Ok. Last night I got it up to 5m cp.
I randomly figured out I could increase my stats so putting points into boss damage like doubled my cp
Dunno if I have the drive to get to lvl 255 but at least I have enough to kill the easier bosses
