Super New player Super Confused

Hey! I am very new to maplestory, I played once last year during a new character launch but didn't play much since I was super confused. Really want to get into the game but don't even know where to start from. Can really use some help, advice on what to do and how to progress or what every new player should do or know. Don't even know much about the classes either.

I suggest you start out with the Wild Hunter class

It’s currently the only class that has a hyperburn (5 levels every time you level up til 260)

Even if you’ve no plans of maining it

You can simply leave it as a nlomien (specific boss u stop at for meso) mule (side chars that you do bossing on for meso)

I suggest you start at Challenger-Heroic

Its probably too late to achieve anything there but having the buffs should make dailies/grinding easier compared to going to Kronos/Hyp where you’ll have Legion (an account wide buffs that gets more stronger the more higher level char u have)

Challenger World are temporary and require you to leap when the world ends

Leap as in move from challenger world to a main world (same type only aka heroic to heroic, interactive to interactive)

So Once this challenger Herioc ends (which is when?). I will move to Heroic not Kronos?

So correct me if I am wrong please, is heroic F2P? I was told to go kronos since I can play F2P is that. Sorry if I am making this more complicated that it is.

more burning maps for Hyperion and less difficulty in finding maps

Majority of the population is in Kronos

so grind zones and farming places are shared between every player? kinda like have to find open spots?

In 260+ maps

A map can only hold 4 person

Maps are instanced meaning only you can see the mobs in your screen

and everybody else sees their own mob in their screen

if you enter a map and it already has 4 person the mobs won’t spawn

ohh alright, and as a new player is it easy to join maps and find spots?

Maps only start to get hard to find at 280+

awesome, also how to progress, I understand the part of making new character because of burner event to level up quickly and if I dont main it I can use as sub charcter to farm bosses as you said. But how to progress?

Links (make many job to lv210 ) but for starter, you can make all those to lv70

Then legion building

Pick a main to focus (they job you like)

And stuck in limbo for eternal

Legion block will help your account for building character in a long run

You can just try it all out

Legion building kinda need 42.. character anyway

Most ppl choose main by the theme

I recommend on choose them by your control and liking for farming then bossing

But for now you can just burn a wh

Wild hunter ( get it as a starter anchor)

Since there's the burning event, just stack the wh and the blessings together

And will get your first starter (lv260) character

You can use it as temp main for farming until you get a job that you like

for levels do arcane riger dailies and 7x monstwr park (you can get 1 free run per day and buy the rest w/meso)

I'm not sure on details but it's seems to have some effect on early world leaping

Like you leap from challenger to kronos/Hyperion (can't proceed before a date) maybe

arcane river is a region in lvl 200+

with hyperburn you yave access to terablink

terablink lets u go from lvl 30 > 200 in less than 20 min

monster park is a dungeon you run daily 7 times

as for gear progression youll have the item burn

for more details you can watch a gear progression guide on yt

and progression may be a little slow compared to Heroic

I heard that in heroics the vaccum pets and if i wanna spend money can be a lot more than interactives.

and its $10 everg month after

Reg Vac pets has a higher upfront peice about $300

and can be revived for free w/ regular water of life

You also have to consider gear progression

There’s no meso cubes in Interactive

I usually recommend Heroic since it’s one less tjing to worry about and the progression is much more straight forward
