Ive been playing yesterday after the maintenance completed with no issues, woke up today and suddenly got this error even tho the game is already installed and updated (the play button turned into "update").
Ive tried:
Reinstalling Maplestory
Reinstalling Nexon Launcher
Repairing Installation
and everything has led back to this error when i tried installing/repairing the game
please help

Try restarting your computer, making sure you run Nexon Launcher as admin, and repairing again.

i completely deleted all of the old files so could it be that the registry entries have been corrupted or something?
had a bad shutdown yesterday

Try doing uninstall from the launcher, to clean any such remaining entries?

but it keeps throwing the error
i doubt it actually deletes registry entries tho

A tidy uninstall should. idk what Nexon code does.

oh christ please no
omg i fixed it
remembered seeing an uninstall file in the folder for the nexon launcher
so i tried it instead of just deleting the launcher folder
and it worked
