#problem with autotracking and elgato capture card

I am having 2 separate issues, but both are related to my elgato HD 60X external capture card.
The first issue is that when I connect emotracker via qusb2snes, the elgato tells me that the "device is in use by other software" and it stops capturing. How do I resolve this conflict?

The second issue I am having is that periodically throughout capturing, when not using autotracker, my capture card just loses the device! I am wondering if this can be an issue with my USB 3 cable or USB input itself?

Any advice would be really appreciated. I am just so bummed that I couldnt try and qualify for main tournament because I can capture anything anymore for some reason.

You can either use OBS to capture or the Elgato software, but you can't use both. What most people do is use the output HDMI on the elgato card and watch the game thru that (which is the only thing guaranteed to have 0 delay)

How do you use OBS to capture playing on console without a capture card?

I'm confused about what you are asking. You can add the elgato as a source in obs and control your settings there. If you do that then you can't also use the 4k elgato software since it fights for control over the capture care

Then you just use the HDMI pass thru to your TV or whatever device you're actually playing the game on.

Some of your other problems do seem strange to me. I've not run into issues where using qusb causing capture card issues before. I have an older external hd60 and never seen that before

Either it's unrelated or maybe something strange is going on with using the same USB port as your fxpax?

Honestly, I am confused by what I am asking. I work on people, not software/hardware, so sorry if I am not explaining it appropriately, but I really appreciate you taking the time to try and help me! the set up you described is what I am doing. I am using an fxpak pro/analogue super NT, HDMI in to capture card, HDMI out to screen 1, USB to PC, i also have a microusb to the fkpack pro. I have my capture card sourced into my OBS, capture card is not recording, recording through OBS. With this set up, i get this error (See photo). You can see my timer is at 3 minutes, but the time on the capture is :42, because it somehow lost the signal.

Its confusing because I am having 2 separate issues. 1. elgato is losing the signal, sometimes it takes 2 mintes, sometimes it takes 40 minutes and 2. it randomly decides the software is being used by a second device.

What you want to use is a Video Capture Device Source, not a Game Capture Source. This allows you to select your video capture device so OBS can directly use it to display your game capture without the need for Elgato software at all.

Thanks. I’ll give it a shot.

So be the capture card was still crashing, I ended up adding a usb 3.0 card to reduce how much power the capture card was drawing. That worked!!!
