It's a short range radio under 1000km so you need to be close to each other for it to work. Press and hold X to talk.

ETS2 got updated, and TruckersMP hasn't applied their own update that's compatible with the newer version.

There's also no way to change your beta to the correct version that TruckersMP uses at the moment.
