You can use this plugin https://github.com/dariowouters/ts-fmod-plugin/releases/tag/1.41 for both ETS 2 and ATS, SP and on TMP. On TMP it is local, so no other players hear the modded sound of your truck. This video shows how to install the plugin for ETS2. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TFuq5h-OvHc The process is the same for ATS, you can then use any SP sound with this plugin for your trucks in MP, you just need to add the sound files in correct location and change whats in the selected.bank.txt. It's because you can't edit the root files in the steam library. Any edit has to be in the form of a mod in the mod folder.

Could someone make a mod that would let me put the Route Advisor in a tablet on my dash? Then I could have two GPS with different zoom levels. And I could have job info screen up all the time. I can do some of that with my phone using Sim Dashboard but I'd rather have it in my truck and use my phone as a phone. It would also be good if I could have the truck info tablet mod not be synced with my dashboard so I could have speed info on my instrument cluster and fuel info on a tablet or some other combination.

I did find a mod that puts an iPad on my left corner with GPS. It looks cool and I can make the GPS full screen on that big thing. But it's still synced with the in dash GPS and I can't put any Route Advisor screens on it. But I did find a mod that's helpful. Not quite what I wanted but ok. It puts the Route Advisor screens on the top and bottom of your screen in a smaller format.

It could be that your rain probability in game settings are set too low or set to off. Maybe check that under gameplay settings and increase it a little. Also, since this doesn't really relate to modding ATS, #support might be a better channel 😃

Skins and mods don't work natively on tmp. Skins can be local modded if you have the knowledge of blender, but I'm not going to step anywhere near that topic.

I can help with that topic.

Join a local mod server then look for a skin mod for the truck you want (good luck on ats) then if you manage to find one then you need to replace the .dds file or .png file that is the skin which you can kinda use as a guide i suggest many. Many layers then flattening image.

If you cant do that you need to find a template online for the truck you want to customize a skin for then edit save file code to add the local mod. Place the local mod with replaced skin in the correct file path and all done.

I made the skin and then made an scs mod file that works fine on the offline version of ATS. I want to get it into the online version for the VTC im in. The process of doing this is what is what I don't understand. i've been wondering if it's possible to mod the functionality of the in-game gps

i know you can change the visuals and change the voice nav

but what i had in mind involves how it actually works
essentially, i think quite a few people, at the very least myself, would enjoy having a gps that gives you distances with directions (think "take interstate 80 for 267 miles" and the like)

and i'm curious to know if that's even possible

at the moment, the built-in workaround is to just use all 10 of your checkpoints to mark where you need to turn and take exits
the issue there is, the more checkpoints you use to work around this, the less you have to mark points you want to visit (like a gas station or something like that)

In order to activate console and developer mode you must go to "Documents" and then to the "American Truck Simulator" folder. There you will find a file named config.cfg - open it using the notepad and find the "uset g_console 0" and "uset g_developer 0" line (you can use CTRL + F) and change their value from 0 to 1. You can open the console in the game by pressing the [~] key.

Best advice. Learn scs tools for blender. Its way too complicated for a guide as there is way too much that goes into making a truck mod. If you want to go down that path, start small with like cabin/truck accessories so you can learn file systems along with the how scs tools works.

Reverse engineer scs trucks in blender and learn how shaders work also

Modding can be hard, but it can be very rewarding if you stick to it, good luck

The trailers work fine i tested and got a 6 lowbed trailer combo working in tmp

If you are talking about trailers kind of dancing. Its because of ping apparently or it might be a trailer with a sketchy hitch point that wasnt designed for combo trailers

depends on what kind of cargo. If you want a custom name for the freight market, then its a simple file change. Now if you want a custom flatbed cargo, then thats a whole different story.

@nimble whale normally if the mod isnt in the trailer dealer then it must be as a job to take from the freight market...If not try sleeping ingame to advance time and see if the mod appears....If not the mod could be possibly broken naw updated! Thats all the info i can give you.

Got the mod working now, thanks Drift_Legend. Now i have a new question, i'd like to look into reskinning the ballast trucks that are on the rear of the trailer, is it possible to extract the current skin it has and then edit that?
