When I download a ats mod from a site and it opens that new tab, will I get a virus or adware if I let it load up the whole way and then hit the close button? Will I get a virus or adware if I click any link or button on the site that poped up?
You're not going to get a virus/adware from opening the tab, you can get something really useless/pointless if you click the wrong link or button and it makes you download something else.
Just keep your anti-virus program running in case, and if you'd like -- I can download and send you the .scs file for the mod if you want ๐

It's optional, it definitely makes it more realistic if that's what you're looking for.

Haha. Just offering a suggestion. Its neat because the creator modelled it after the real tesla semi, even to the interior being unique. Its a center-seater with dual displays that give a ton of information. The only truck with a full size navigation screen built in, and he was also working on implementing the automation functions as well. Tesla power stations are placed on your map, and it actually sounds like a tesla when it drives. No engine sound, just the motor whirring.
But the truck doesn't look good I agree, but they haul loads soo much better than your standard semi

1st number is number of wheels (duals count as 1) then the 2nd is the number of drive wheels.
so an Aussie Tri-drive is an 8x6. I'd say yours is a 10x8 because all those rear axles look like duals and thus drive axles.

The limit is 3 trailers, they don't state it in the rules, so you can't have more because you get automatically kicked, so it's allowed but you can't do it, which makes no sense, but through the time we have seen that it's how TMP works

On the 3 trailer Heavy Cargo DLC the front trailer is known as a jeep and the rear one is called a stinger. The main trailer connects to the jeep in the middle so the forward weight of the main trailer is spread over the 4 axles (2 truck, 2 jeep) equally. The stinger can't move up/down only left/right. Again, this 'extends' the rear of the main trailer to 4 axles to spread the load. Try taking it up a steep hill, you'll start lifting axles on the stinger/main trailer because it wont articulate vertically.
As for your trailer edit. I too had that idea, but I'm happy with being able to run a triple roadtrain. I don't want to abuse those new rules.

Just did a run of it with a front and rear escort, it's....too long, even for me. I can handle it but it's too much. But be interesting to see if it gets the ok from the admins. I wont be worried if it doesn't, it just too bloody long.
I don't see why it won't get approved, it's within the limit where you won't get kicked, the dolly connections seem correct, there appears to be not trailer clipping and as long as there isn't an invisible hitbox it should be allowed
I would like to do a two trailer version with dollies and jeeps. I think it would be far more managable than the three trailer, having been the lead truck in that.
While shorter, I think this does look much better and certainly tracks better. Still 5 trailers in total. Question remains however on the lowboy -> dolly connection. Is that legal, or illegal?

Hi guys I don't mean to step my bounds, but can I ask if there's a way to save edit to a 4x2 chassis? Just trying to remove a set of the rear wheels.
I've been toying around with the save, but it always results with a corrupt save.
It is always possible to alter between chassis configurations with save editing, one thing you have to keep in mind is the amount of axles, since that you'll need to have the right amount of wheels for it (front, rear, offset when applicable), and it's very easy to mess that up
I don't think there are any 4x2 chassis in ATS.

I didn't know the rims were tied to the axles. Probably why I couldn't remove them lol. I don't see any data paths referring to axle, so they are tied into the chassis like you say? I've seen those 4x2 in the workshop. Would it be as simple as finding that chassis data and swapping?
Yeah, for example if you have a 6x4, you'll have your front wheel, and rear wheels, one without offset and the other with offset of 2. When I want to alter certain parts, I usually try to get another truck, on which I can "borrow" the parts I put on it. Then it's just a matter of doing some tweaks like the addresses, depending on what you're doing, swapping or adding parts

Ok I was afraid it wasn't going to be as simple as changing chassis data.
Am I thinking it wrong? Workshop has a Peterbilt 579 with a 4x2. Copy that chassis and replace the 389 chassis and address of that with the 579.

I'm still breaking it before the chassis lol. Just trying to remove the air boxes on the 389 results in a bad save. Trying to absorb all I can from Lords tutorial.
If you have a chassis with a different amount of axles, it's definitely going to break the game when you change to that 4x2 if you don't do the wheels too

It's more than just delete random wheels... You gotta know which one is the one you don't need (clue: offset), plus gotta remove it from the list of addresses of that truck, and readjust the numbers in the square brackets if needed, and the count before the list, sounds complicated

I figured offset 2 is the set since the 4x2 is 0. Accessory count will go down and accessory brackets will need adjusted. I think I got what you're saying. Thank you very much for the input Lord. Really appreciate helping a random person like this.

Yeah, the way I see it is that you have different blocks or objects, they have attributes, and if there's any list of things associated with it, there's usually a line to define how many objects, like declaring the size of an array, then the actual list that points to each individual object

The caravans are in as default SCS at trailer dealerships, but they do not show up as being able to purchase like in ETS2, Yea ATS is kinda backseat so to speak. Thanks for the feedback tho. Happy trucking!

We have many combinations. The triple roadtrain is probably the most iconic. 3 semi trailers connected via dollies. generally 2 axle dollies, sometimes 3. Then you also have the 2AB Quad which is the same combination except you have a B trailer in front of the last semi trailer. That's as big as it gets on the public roads. I know me roadtrain mate, I see em all the time.

@warm shuttle When 1.35 comes out that'll be a legit combination on MP, maybe not as a tanker though. Nothing like that run in Australia, I have a handy chart which shows and names the combinations.

1 and 3 are normal combinations in ETS2 (B-double and HCT). 2 is a combination that you can now make thanks to the rule change (B triple). 4, 5 and 6 are not yet possible in ATS because there is no B trailers and no allowed in ETS2 (max 3 trailers [dollies count]). 7 is allowed in ATS. 8 will not be allowed in ATS after 1.35 (it's a 6 trailer combination, max is 5 for ATS) and finally 9 is well....A bit big.

9 is rare here in Australia, but you usually see them on roads in the outback
Though 7 is fairly common
9 is only ran on a couple of private mining roads. The biggest ever to be allowed on public roads was 3 B-Doubles combined, they nicknamed it the Caterpillar I think.

yeah you can only spawn it on 3 bay garages
It's annoying because the garage layout is the same in ETS2 and ATS. In ETS2 the spawn on the large garage allows you to spawn in huge combinations but in ATS the 3bay actually has more room than the large bay becasue the spawn in stupid spots.
The biggest I think you should make for your mod is a turnpike double. 2 long trailers + 2 axle dolly. The other combinations I'll save edit in myself, at my own risk!
I'm going to do the huge combos, but I think the only safe place for them will be Medford
so you can insta-teleport to the repair shop there

Apparently there's an unfinished 48ft box trailer chassis with the rear hook, exactly like the 45ft. I tested it out, doesn't work in SP without the mod installed or in MP.

I'd put dependencies first, like C2C first, then the other map expansions outwards, and if there's a particular fix, it should go after the map mod it's related to, then anything else should be last

You just have to download the latest version, and put the scs file(s) in the ATS mod folder (not atsmp, just regular one), you may have to unzip it if it's in a zip/rar archive

You need dollies
So either swap the jeeps for dollies or run jeep-two axle-dolly-jeep.
The reason is the back of the two axle is a pin hitch
So you cant link a fifth wheel to it
But you can link a dolly to it
As per the mods, when GDog and I were making ours
I had a build like yours, but had to redesign for the dolly, it is frustrating but not impossible. :)

Gdog, myself and another friend have a set of "highway double" low loaders. I run two transformers, Gdog runs a transformer and crane, and the third is a transformer and cable reel. We call the set the "power company".

With those jeeps changed to dollies you're good to go! I have a triple lowboy like that. It carries a bulldozer, scraper and milling machine. 203t of cargo grossing about...230tish? Would have to check again. Watch yourself on corners though because that rear trailer does not want to follow!

you can't use modded maps online, the only mods you can use is the one that lets you swap parts already in game on your truck or trailer, and the skoda and caravan mod from TMP

scs wont change it for a mp game so it looks better
its just that the connection point for truck 1 and truck 2 are incorrect anyway. SCS has been on the ball of making it so every truck/trailer connection point are at the right locations so people who do wanna mix and match can do so with whatever they like, like players who make the 55L roadtrains. the truck transporter should be no different and SCS should make them versatile like every other trailer in the game.
looks good in the garage tho. but upon closer investigation, i do believe the trailer nodes are in the correct location but its just the collision of the truck and trailer together that makes it wonky. since truck 2 normally sits a lot higher, it makes sense that the collision isnt the same as the normal t680, so it makes sense this collision model isnt as refined yet. this is experimental beta after all, theres still plenty of time to fix it.
the hook node is definitely where its supposed to be, otherwise it would be phasing through the chassis if it were lower. im 100% positive its the collision of the model.

@steep depot the piggybacks can only be picked up at the port in oakland since we dont have the washington DLC to get them from the kw plant. my guess is scs did this as a minor setting so we can still use them before the washington DLC is actually released and theyll probably patch it out later. but what im doing to make it look like a tow rig can only be done with save editing

@steep depot im back. and you do only get them at the port of oakland. theyre just VERY rare for whatever reason.
the only way to force them to spawn without modding is to camp on the oakland port shipping menu and constantly keep fast forwarding time by 3, 4, or 6 hours until they spawn in. but i personally wouldnt recommend 6 because its much easier to miss them that way, especially if they show up with less than a 6 hour waiting timer which is more probable.

the way SCS designed the piggypacks is the truck itself is a cargo file but the wheels that touch the ground are part of a separate invisible chassis file so they can roll. you cant have multiple chassis files on the same trailer so the wheel set thats a part of the chassis def is absent
thats why i specifically said truck 2 of the piggyback works. truck 1 would be floating and missing both rear axles (since they both touch the ground) and truck 3 would have the rear light bar apparatus which is unnecessary since its on a lowboy anyway
That would explain why there's only 1 wheel accessory on those piggy back trucks in their total definition. Good to know!
containers also work on flatbeds now. so theres that too. both the 20 and 40 footers work. and im assuming the 53's are sketchy because the cargo nodes on the flatbeds are different than the container skeletons.
heres a 40 container on the 45 chassis. from my observation, it seems that the space from the front of the container to the edge of the flatbed is consistent. so my guess is using a 53 container on a 53 chassis will result in rear overhang.

Can't allow vipers 389 in mp cause the lower end pc users will lag out when there are 2 or more, not everyone plays on a gaming computer.
