my suggestion, get a different headset that uses USB instead of those quite outdated 3.5mm jacks.

If the headset is brand new, it's faulty and you should return it. If not, you may have to buy a new one

they're like $50 or so for low grade ones. That's not so bad.

$100 if you want some better sounding ones.

The whole "I've been having this issue for years" really makes me think the ports on the laptop are bad.

Avoid it entirely by using a USB headset instead.

The summary of how I wanted to contact Seasonic and had a heart attack :
I installed the new PSU, pc boots but no post. I try the old PSU and the same thing happened. I reseated everything twice. No post. Then I remove the CMOS battery and wait ~20 seconds. Put the battery back in and I try the new PSU. It boots and finally even beeps. 1 beep, 2 fast beeps. It's a memory error. Tomorrow I'm going to make sure the memory is plugged in correctly and I hope it finally boots

I don't think so. It's based on your PC/laptop model or the keyboard model.

For the example on your laptop, you can't use different keybind on your f1 to f12 from the factory. When you open the settings on Window it's just came for keybind on touchpad.

Hey folks got an issue with a laptop I purchased last year. I purchased it September, brand new online from laptops direct. It's developed a fault over this last week we're it'd turn off if both the cpu and gpu are hit with a load simultaneously. The warranty status with Medion (manufacturers) show the warranty as having expired March 2019, months before I even purchased it.

Laptops direct aren't getting back to me on my message as they need to give me a 1 year warranty under consumer rights act.

Any idea where to go with this?

I was simulating what a game would do, like a modern game at top settings. It was only hit for a few seconds and cut out, I'd expect thermal throttling or something before shut down. The symptoms shown to me show an internal fault, at least in my eyes.

my XPS 15 had a similar issue where it would shut down when the dedicated GPU was hit with load

it is/was an issue with the temperature sensor on the card

worked with a specific firmware version

others report the card running at 500+ Celsius

That's one of my assumptions, the power brick isn't upto the job plus it's really hot to the touch

I've also noticed that under load, the CPU sits at around 40W but the moment the GPU is hit with load it drops to 17W (since it's a 'u' processor they'll boost to full tdp and then revert back to base tdp) but moments before crashing it'll drop as low as 8w

A) Shape is awkward, it won't sit flat and neither can I rest anything ontop, cooling needs or not this is bad.
B) White just gets dirty quicker, especially the controller so will need a darker colour and preferably black
C) Soo many vents, gonna be a nightmare keeping it clear of dust

Well if you have free sync or G sync shouldn't matter, but I think you still end up paying more for having one of those

Curved monitors are nice for a more immersive experience, but you really only get the best out of it when it's on an ultrawide. The curve isn't as noticeable on smaller panels.

Both the monitors you've linked are only 1080p, which is kind of poor value for money at that screen size, as the pixel density will be quite low, meaning that you'll be able to see the individual pixels more easily. I'd look to be getting a 1440p display anything above 27".

Hey, question for the android folk. How would I enable Mirror link on a OnePlus 7T? Just got it today, was told it was supported. My car radio just hangs on preparing connection, whereas with my old phone it'd be a second and it'll load up on the screen. Got audio via Bluetooth and android auto launches, but nothing else. USB debugging is enabled.

Could it just be too high Res for the radio to support? Radio is a 7010b (unknown brand), 64mb ram WinceOS

When you only record, you will not be able to get this, because Replay buffer is only useful when you stream.

If you have NVidia GPU, you can use GeForce Experience and its "Replay Capture"

Adrenalin is the driver suite. Recording software is called Radeon ReLive and can be installed within that suite. It is more then enough.

NVMe will handle mid 70s quite fine

it's close to bottlenecking throughput but it's nothing you'll notice

It's not NVME as the port didn't support that so it's a SATA M.2
I do try to keep it cool, the original temperature was around 80C if I had the cpu under load. I've put thermal pads on it so it touches the laptop chassis down to 76C under the same conditions

You could get a thermal pad to connect it to the laptop's chassis which is presumably metal (i7 commands a high price and therefore quality) which would help.
