What is better AMD Ryzen 5 2600 or Intel Core i5 9th gen?

depends on the use case because on the 1 hand the i5 has 6 cores whereas the AMD Ryzen has 6 cores with 12 threads. Having said this Intel tends to lead with single core performance so if it's literally just for gaming then I'd argue the Ryzen would be the way to go, same as if you were after streaming as you'd be able to prioritise the workload amongst the threads. The other thing to consider is that the AMD CPU doesn't have a GPU whereas the Intel 1 does thus you could save a bit of money by not buying a GPU straight away if you went with the Intel CPU. you're looking at the i5 9400F then I'd have to recommend going with the AMD Ryzen on the basis that it has Simultaneous Multi-Threading (same thing as Intel's Hyper Threading essentially) and is able to perform better when using all of the available cores and threads, single core performance between the 2 CPU's isn't even worth a mention as the points are very close to each other. it's totally up to you but I'd personally get a new one. 50Hz is not that much and with a GTX1070, you'll definitely get well over 50FPS so a monitor with a higher refresh rate (typically 60Hz, but if you're into competitive FPS shooters a 120Hz or 144Hz one) is worth it. Also, a larger Monitor (maybe 27") won't do any harm

it all comes down to the resolution you want to paly on. A 1080 or something equivalent is way overpowered for 1080p@50FPS, and if you don't want to upgrade your monitor it's a waste of money to buy a super good graphics card. On the other hand, if you do plan to upgrade your monitor, say for WQHD or even 4K or 144Hz, you'd have to upgrade your GPU again. Also, an i5 is totally fine, but again it depends on what you want to do. An i7 or a ryzen CPU has more threads and therefore better performance when multitasking, but a good i5 may have a better single-core performance so it's good for just gaming

In some computational situations the Vega64 is faster, in other like gaming, depending on game, the GTX1070 is faster

even the vega 56 is faster than the gtx 1070 in a lot of games, especially if you're running them with DirectX 12
