What CPU and motherboard do you have?
well i haven't built it yet im slowly buying the parts
What are you targeting then?
cause i5 covers like 8 generations of CPUs 😛
TFW ECC memory is cheaper than non ECC
It's a memory type that is for workstations and servers
aha
Both would be best suited for intel platforms
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Team-Group-DDR4-2400-Internal-Memory/dp/B00O3J4B0Y/ref=sr_1_1?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1516042189&sr=1-1&refinements=p_n_style_browse-bin%3A11416345031%2Cp_n_feature_keywords_browse-bin%3A2914615031%2C2841372031 is basicly as cheap as you can go, don't know the brand though, so just giving an example
aha mk
namebrand 8GB seems to be ~80£ or so
mmk mk
so I'd say just get 16GB, it's not much extra and you got some room to breathe
unless you're tight on budget that is
do i need a hard drive ?
you need one bigger than 160
wha do you need that 160gb for then?
I was going for a GTX1060 and a i5-7600K in my build
apparently Kingston HyperX FURY Memory is relatively cheap
@sand valley Save your money, don't get a bulldozer based build
At minimum get AM4, if you absolutely can't spare some money for a better cpu, and get a bulldozer for that
otherwise, get Ryzen, the extra cash for that will be worth it
is ryzen actually better? in comparison with intel cpus in the same price range
A friend of mine has a Ryzen 5 1600x and compared to the i5-7600K that I'm gonna use (pretty much the same prize) it's only really better at multi core operations
I don't think that's really needed for gaming
not what I've heard
Most tests I've seen, ryzen hits above it's price point
vs. intel
https://es.pcpartpicker.com/list/jR77D8 <- a more suitable build, though more expensive
It you need to drop back on the price @sand valley cut the graphics card down a notch or two
1070 you're looking at 1440p gaming or so
Then you should arguably be using a 1080
And then you definitley shouldn't be getting a bulldozer at least
And i can only spebd 1070
https://de.pcpartpicker.com/list/QV82KZ what do you think - I'm not entirely sure if I should stick to intel or switch to AMD
mine's for 1080p gaming then
you can save ~100€ for close to the same performance
In the grand scheme of things, when you're comparing 7xxx series intel vs. ryzen, the variance won't amount to a lot
it's once you drop down to previous generation AMD that things start to be painful
yeah
the mainboard in the list you linked is also cheaper though
maybe i'll just loo at a bit more cheaper mainboard
@hexed aurora Can you build me a pc for max. 850€ with a 1070 in it. I want to have a 1070
Yeah, there's no reason to pick a motherboard with overclocking ability if the cpu isn't an X on ryzen
GPU at half your budget is going to be nigh impossible to make balanced
I'm not even sure if I do overclocking at all - probably not [in near future] but I like to keep that option open. I guess I could still find a cheaper mobo when I use the i5
The build I linked to you @sand valley is probably the lowest I'd suggest for a 1070, any lower, you'll be pushing your luck on being able to run thing
@marble forge If you don't know, you probably aren't going to do it 😉
Wellm I actually wanted to do it in my current PC already but failed when I noticed that my i5-4440 doesn't support that XD
like I said, I'm not entirely sure but If it doesn't make a huge difference in the price I'll just get a mainboard that's capable of overclocking
@sand valley https://de.pcpartpicker.com/list/v6CWnn
@hexed aurora i meant 850€
But that's pushing it for 4k gaming
I want a 1070 in it
I guess that one could use a less powerful PSU as well
derp, got the wrong link xD
yeah but that doesn't even look too bad lol
I was thinking about one of these 3 builds
Btw, will they allvrun on ultra at duisburg calais with no lag?
you already got storage right
Please make a de link
^ https://de.pcpartpicker.com/list/3KfZ4C for the german prices
Ye
some prices are missing in DE
1070 isnt avaible
look at mindfactory
To expensive
Been pinching on everything, that's about as cheap as you can get it
maybe you should think about if you really need 4K gaming
^
I guess for a little cheaper you could go for 1080 or maybe 1440p gaming
the 1070 is prohibitively expensive, it's over 50% of the budget
you can play games on ultra even with a GTX1060 depending on which game, just not in 4K
So either you need to cough up a bigger budget, or you have to settle for lower quality
@marble forge ets2 duisburg calais on ultra without lag?
the FX 8350 is a horrible CPU and won't be able to deliver 4k gaming reliably
It's an 8 years old cpu
ask @fluid quiver
what?
mit ner 1060
Ja
define "lag". On calais Duisburg FPS drops below 60 at ultra and 400% scaling, not so much at 200%.
However if you don't want 4K an 1070 is wasted monies.
get a good 1060.
He wants 4k, but at 850€…
I would like to play on 4k
oh. damn
But my budget is 850€
4K is too much for a 1060 imho.
My honest opinion: cough up a bigger budget
^^this
bruh
Xd
no begging here…
you can get a job, or ask your family
I cant get more money
And
I need a pc
As fastest as possible
For school
And gaming
lol
Then you should settle for a non-4k capable computer
until you can afford a new gpu, then sell the old one
4k @ 850€ is very difficult, if not impossible to achieve
https://de.pcpartpicker.com/list/9srQCy will not be able to run games at 4k, that cpu is going to hold you back
so many prices missing lol
Heck, I run into issues with my E5-1650v3, which is an haswell @ 3.5GHz if I really try pushing things
maybe, but if you really can't cough up any more, you're better off going for intel, you can get more performance for your money if bulldozer is the only affordable AMD option
that's still the same one @sand valley
when
dunno
I guess the new one isn't going to be cheaper right
so much window tho
not really a big difference though
i dunno
the part of the window that's bigger is mostly just metal inside
that
why would I need a window there
that thing looks good as well
cos it is
h440 is worth it tho
you can feel its quality
just watch out if you get a strix card
the R5 apparently allows for way longer GPUs
both of them are about the same size in general though
the h440 i have like 2mm gap between the end of the card and the hdd area
ooooh
😄
I guess I'm fine with the R5
but thanks for the tip it looks pretty good indeed
i can have a GPU that is as wide as the case cause removable hard drive bay is ❤
true
1050ti vs 1060 3gb ?
which one is bette r?
K
@sand valley will ets run on uiltra at duisburg calais?
Wit no lag
A 1070 dont.
Look avergho
Hr has 1070
And +60fps
With 80 players
@sand valley
The only way to play on Ultra settings without lag is to go play single player
@spiral yew Get a string.
oh dear god
this is a school computer
HP of some sort
Its been like this for months
it's so bad task manager doesn't even work
E7500 in 2018
these are crap
not even 10 years old
one if the labs hasa pc with an athlon x2 from mid 2000s
My first pc made it to 15 years old before it was replaced
everyone changing thermal paste on an am3 board
Ah, always fun when they swapped the paste for adheisive
depends a little, later opterons where LGA
hardly a reason for it to be different
Xeon uses the same sockets as desktop does
mid to high-end xeon use the same as HEDT for that generation
low-end xeon use standard LGA for that generation
for some reason
Why have a new socket when the core is essentially the same?
cheaper to produce a ton of LGA2011-3 than some LGA2011-3 and <insert random bs-ery socket for servers here>
by having the same socket for server and desktop, intel makes workstation computers far easier and cheaper than if they had a different socket
^virtualization oriented chip
https://ark.intel.com/products/82765/Intel-Xeon-Processor-E5-1650-v3-15M-Cache-3_50-GHz is the one I got in my desktop
It's important if you're not familiar with Xeon lineup of CPUs
that intel lists the QPI buslink information even if it has 0
QPI bus speed is important when you build multi-cpu machines
the details are most likely filled out by a script, they give the fab spec to a script and it generates it
I've had the pleasure of explaining QPI to someone who bought a 1xxx series xeon in the past
yeah, they had bought 4 of them, hoping to build a quad cpu system
he never stopped to ask himself why a 1xxxx was cheaper than a 2xxx or a 4xxx even though they had the rest of the specs where the same
1xxxx is single scalability
2xxxx is 2, 4xxxx is 4
you'll also see Scalability on ark
which will give the same info, but it's easier to just go straight for the scaling you need from the p/n
I belive SP has retained that nomanclature for scalability
a little annoying that they ditched the E3/5/7 prefix though, the new bronze, silver, gold, platinum is a bit confusing still
Doubt it
and no, the first number in the pn doesn't match scalability anymore
you got gold 5xxxx for example :/
that's alright
Scalability is S8S
that's 8 cpus
No it doesn't
Memory optimized
M model can have 1.5TB, non M can have 768GB
I haven't seen any around, but not been watching too much for them
yeah, Supermicro has them
the 2123BT-HNC0R is ~6k USD
probably just fine temp
Wasn't just on temps, but they didn't fare well in terms of doing stuff with those cores either
I got a bulldozer based Opteron server at home, temps are alright, but it's dog slow
my mobile i5 laptop can do more faster than that thing
much better use of the money
I'm hoping for a middleground somewhere between Ryzen and Epyc that isn't Threadripper
certified ECC support with AVX512 etc.
lol
being behind 1 or 2 generations on cpu tech isn't necessarily bad though
non HEDT I doubt we'll see 8 cored ones
Lol
Try find the core challenge of my Gaming PC
Unfortunatly the picture is too small, take a bigger one, I'm sure that PC can handle that 😃
It's bad that when i had to check my CPU (first time so it was first time taking it out), there was dust on the connections and socket :/
Aaaand that's why i'm never gonna get a PC/PC Stuff from ASUS
every now and then i have to take my CPU fan out and heat sink and the CPU out to clean dust. Cos when ASUS made my pc they were absolute idiots
I even have a list that big of what died in it and what is on way to dying...
CPU Fan - Died
CPU - Dying
RAM - 50% Died
HDD - Died
PSU - Died
Wifi/BT chip - Dying
Motherboard - 75% died and still dying/faulty
Disc Drive - Died
USB Ports At Back - 50% of them died
Ethernet Port - Dying
Integrated GPU - Died
PC Grounding - Faulty
New PSU - Doing Very Well
Graphics Card - Doing Very Well
New HDD - Having A Hard Time
rip
So yeah
I'm surprised it's sorta alive rn tbh
I've had to fix it around 50 odd times
Cos it likes to kill itself and then i have to re-install Windows
Instead of replacing the stuff in my PC i'm just gonna build a PC Entirely as it would be better
And i'm not getting an AMD cpu -_-
My CPU is a 3.5Ghz and it likes to go to like 5Ghz sometimes
It can't limit itself anymore :/
And it's primary thermal sensor died so it's using it's backup one... https://i.sgtbreadstick.tk/2018-01-19_10-20-17.gif
If you hear anything about Skyfall and Solace, if it's not a hoax, it's probably related to SPARC, so don't worry about it
🤔
Just hook up a mega ohm meter to your computer to download
"megs" only makes me think about family guy
lol look what I found
64GB Ram ? :0
megabytes
ôh
lol
Sad.
xD
@marble forge I bought a PC for 1100€. There is a GTX 1070TI from KFA2 and AMD Ryzen 1500X
Is this good for 1100€ ?
idk
16GB Ram
700Watt
he said ill be able to play battlefield 1 on ultra
sry
not 750Watt
700*
I have 750
from Corsair
😂
1100€
1100€ included with Win10 Pro + 2x 2TB HDD + 1SSD 250GB + 16GB Ram
😛
i think 1100€ Is very fair
- Be quiet! Dark Base 700
Yep
1100€ for that spec is good Alive
meanwhile I'm just sitting here being disappointed in the lack of rx 570s and 580s decent video cards at anything approaching msrp
I dont even know if that video card will work with the motherboard
buy prebuilt and flip the rest for parts, supposedly gets you close to MSRP
Wow, found 8 year old headphones, sound tinny af tho. I have bass on full and it’s like there’s no bass. Guess headphones have changed a lot 😂
Not really, you just bought bad headphones 8 years ago
My dad has a pair of headphones that are ~35 years old, they are still far better than anything I've owned so far
Err
I can't open Edge browser or Chrome
And i can't open IE either
it was working a min ago though... :/
i don't wanna restart pc cos i don't want it to go deaded again
Do you have any antivirus programs that would prevent you from opening a web browser cause I had one and the program wouldn't allow me to open a web browser unless I used the in game steam browser
anyone got a nice case they would recommend?
^ which supports an ATX motherboard and has good cable managment
thx i will check it out
No problem
i rebooted pc and it fixed it
ah ok
I've actually also watched some videos about cases and those videos also like Fractial Design's cases
Or you can just go for the NZXT S340
I see many people on the internet using this case
alright thx
Np
ive been lookin at cases for the past few days because i want to get a nice one
also a good quality one
What is the definition of a nice case for you? Do you want the case to look good from the outside or inside? Does it need a glass panel, etc
Welp I would like a window panel and good cable managment
and I guess good from inside and outside
Does the color matter?
nope
Also, what's your budget?
Alright, give me a moment

Fractal Design meshify C
gee thanks bro
Phanteks Eclipse p400, seems good for its value, but still not something I would actually purchase.
Corsair Carbide Clear 400C, seems ok for its value.
NZXT S340 Elite, has nice cable management, but it's small compared to other cases. Airflow is also not that great, but also not that bad.
Fractial Design meshify C, still a winner for me and thus is this case the one I recommend
I just like Fractial Design, their cases are nice looking (I like simple designs), cable management is nice and the price is also not too high.
Anyway, if you really don't know what to choose, I suggest you to just watch some videos on YouTube and see why the YouTuber likes/dislikes the case.
thx tuxy i will check it out
I've actually never heard of that case, but it definitely looks like a fun case to build a system with.
Mine is in the red version of it, just beaware if you plan on AIO cooling both your CPU and GPU
I have the fan for my GPU on the outside because I couldn't fit the CPU and GPU cooler on the inside, there's about 2mm too little room
When I build a new box, I might try a hardline in it, for the fun of it
It has a lot of room, but with the cpu cooler I have (First generation GTX H100i), the tubing is too stiff to mount one way, and the other way there's interference with the remains of the 5.25" bay (that is mostly removable), which means I had to use the fans to drop it down by a little, which is just enough to cause interference with the back fan spot where I put the GPU rad
u talking about the aerocool case?
yeah
hmm
It's still a MicroATX case, but it's roomy to be one
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/122925899724?ul_noapp=true anyone know if this is legit?
what was it?
do you guys think GPU prices are going to be normal again in august or so?
the cheapest asus Strix 1060 I could find is currently at 378€... I'm thinking about getting it right now in case it gets even more expensive
Nobody knows what the future brings
If you need a gpu now, you get it now, if what you got is working, and you can wait, wait.
Volta is on the horizon this summer for example (if nvidia stick to their releases as previous years)
hm
@marble forge it was a 1080ti for like £120
lol
Nvidia won't release Volta this year
Why would they?
AMD is nowhere near as good
They're selling loads of cards
They have released new cards like clockwork, regardless of AMDs standing
my CPU is significantly cooler than my HDD
and the GPU is just as cool as the HDDs
my CPU sits below 25°C in idle and my HDDs are constantly at 29° and 30°
I guess my HDDs would be a lot cooler as well if had a proper case. My PC is pre-assembled and there's practically no ariflow in the case
the CPU fan directly sucks air to the inside and then there's no fan to suck it back out or something so the hot air just stays in there 🤦
no medion
I think it's a german brand
one of those PCs you get in a grocery / discount store xd
actually the sell the "Medion" brand to discount and grocery stores and "micorstar" brand to electronics stores but the PCs are the same, as soon as you open the microstar packaging it says medion in there as well xD
I suspect that they sell the cheap stuff or products that failed tests to the grocery stores
my CPU thermal sensor died so i can't tell what temp my CPU is
https://i.sgtbreadstick.tk/2018-01-23_14-57-34.gif
it just jumps up and down
luckily my cpu has a backup thermal sensor :3
GPU is around same temp as CPU after a good game of ETS2 and stuffs https://i.sgtbreadstick.tk/2018-01-23_14-58-58.png
what stuff do you have now?
potato
i regret buying that printer
cos its rly heavy and i'll have to take it upstairs on my own
@marble forge GTX 1070ti , AMD Ryzen 1700X , 16GB Ram
for how much?
you forgot storae
i wonder if you could get like pci-e IDE cards
and just use ide storage
gg
tonspieker
holy crap
Wut
mindfactory is pretty much the cheapest hardware shopping site in germany and since 5 minutes ago all of their 1060's except for the asus Dual cards are sold out
and prices on other german sites are all pretty much as high as in the image above
Where do I find my ETS2 "Pfad" , i need it for MP.
complaining about current gpu pricing
Yeah it's too expansive ! 💸
@plucky whale Got my 1070ti for 390€
used?
Nope.
PC Store next to me
btw
how to livestream with nvidia experience ?
With this broadcoast thing 😂
idk
xD
seriously where exactly did you get a 1070 ti for 370€??
how to livestream with nvidia experience ?
what you mean? streams at all?
@sand valley
Geforce experience work only with Twitch, YouTube and Facebook
Other services can't be set
I have 8,5MBPS and i want to stream ETS2 in 1080p (Nvidia Broadcast) , how many bitrate can I choose ?
Video bitrate: 4,000-8,000 kbps Audio bitrate: 192kbps
@sand valley depends on platform that you want to stream. Twitch, for example, is limiting bitrate unless you have N subscribers/watchers. For youtube I use 6000 for 1080p60
@bleak ingot Youtube
@sand valley Actually, Youtube (AFAIK) does not limit bitrate. So you can choose whatever rate you want. It depends on your network speed. I think 6000 is enough.
Alright , thx.
Nice
my GPU didn't like me messing with the graphic setting on AC:BF so it blue screened my pc
note the cpu ram + mobo are free
I think thats the mobo I'll be getting anyway
and I have to get a monitor
I could probably get a passively cooled 1030 and not suffer much
but I want to OC it some
I would only put a 1030 in a media centre pc
not for any gaming, just video decoding/game streaming
i got a problemo
i got a new hard drive https://i.sgtbreadstick.tk/2018-01-26_09-36-14.png (WDC)

any ideas on how to make it show up or something?
Initialize it first
Yes
Which is better for 3tb, MBR or GPT?
Gpt
thanks
It doesn't matter much actually
Yep, my bad :)
#HardDriveCloning
GPT always, if it's your system driver, you especially want it, MBR can't be booted from in UEFI mode
Anyone else use Malwarebytes premium?
I just noticed that it has started using 30% of my CPU and 95% of my ram
I did a search and found out I wasn't the only one having that issue
Nothing I'd leave installed permanently, your AV should be compitent enough
mine is sophos 😉
good news though, sophos finally made a home version of their enterprise AV
good Krav
its great cos i can scan ma pc from like my grans if i log in
all the scout pcs are on it apart from one i think
My mom bought a new laptop, and rather than installing avast, which my dad for some reason swears by, I hooked her on sophos
inifinite percent fewer popups from it
and you can do things from online https://i.imgur.com/V3cJBjg.png
i forgot about the email thing on the top corner 🤔
I love setting up a fresh windows install
lol
I'm still mindly pissed that MS removed the imaging capabilities in Windows 10
8.1 had amazing imaging caps
avast 🤦
u think avast is bad?
i am using Windows Defender m8
cos i cba re-installing my antivirus i had but forgot the name of
don't you still have the box when you bought or did you throw it away
you don't go to a store and buy a anti-virus program
no...
last time i bought an antivirus from a store was like 2008 when i was with my dad getting an antivirus software for pc
one thing I miss from windows 10 is the ability to mount .isos
the only things i get digital is games from steam
without third-party software
i miss the feature of being able to play DVDs on Windows 10 without 3rd party
i always download digitally tbh
going to the shop to get something is a bit of a time waster unless ur already there to get something else tbh
I slapped a different HDD in my craptop and installed windows 7 on it
I still have the windows 10 ssd
why the hell has my mate got a new laptop... WITH ANDROID ON IT
🤔
The only downside is I couldn't get the windows install usb to boot in uefi mode
I tried both
nothing worked
I just put it in bios mode
the only downside is I have to remember to change it back for windows 10
yeah
unless you got it when it was free
I did
then you are like me with unlimited windows 10 licenses when you sign in with ur MS email
🤔
i was gonna get an original sony walkman
but very expensive
plus the one i saw had a broken cassette turning motor
ur better off with one
But that would cost alot of moneh
cheaper than a laptop plus you can do anything tbh
hands down best antivirus to install: Sophos home: https://home.sophos.com
already installing Norton one, thanks videogamer :3
yeah but all I can afford is a big bag of potatoes
lol wat
crap i lost the keys to my vinyl record/cassette storage box
ofc i had to put them on top of something that's same color as them
gg me
well can't you have 2 antiviruses running? 😆
Bad idea, remove the bad one, install sophos
-_-
i'll put sophos on my laptop
which i forgot where i put it
norton died rip
imma get sophos then
when your other antivirus sees the antivirus as a virus
windows defender ftw
7+ should get them automatically if it is a common/built-in controller on the CPU
If it's a non-cpu bound controller, then it's not guaranteed
Well this is lame instead of the game crashing due to the graphic setting my computer would blue screen when I tried playing the game
I was installing it on a laptop
all bets were off on whether or not it would have drivers for everything
(it didn't have drivers for ethernet or wifi)
I had to find those off a different company's website
Jesus
wew
not that hot my cpu 1 time hitted 90C
i've hit 144F with a stock cooler
I can't change the cooler without major surgery
hasn't checked the thermal paste since i got it 🤷
also should point out that it's a laptop
so my pc doesnt work without a box fan beating cold air into it
🤔
I plugged my mouse in
try reinstalling the driver from your laptop's site, if that happens again after, then try a refresh of win10
gotta love my raspberry pi 3
got OSMC on it
and i got Kodi too :3
Just seeing how these GUI themes go and stuff
But deffo is good
When it comes to repair, farmers have always been self reliant. But the modernization of tractors and other farm equipment over the past few decades has left...
that is basically what they do
with a laser
pretty sure amd does the same thing with the ryzen 3s
or they're just broken ryzen 7s/5s
😄
Hello
Basically I'm buying parts for my pc and I will need to buy a wifi card or adapter for a wireless connection
But i'm a bit stuck on what one to buy, does anybody have one that they would recommend? EU shipping pls
@charred granite you can either buy a mobo with a built-in wifi or you can buy internal/external wifi adapter
mobo is motherboard
oh then you can still buy the card but you will need to know how far away from the router you are
2 meters, I'd pull a cable
ethernet?
yea
yes, any other cable would be silly
well the door would block the access
because the router is outside my door on a little table
can't you run a cable under the door?
depends on how much space there is between the bottom of the door and the floor
most doors have a gap between the door frame and the door. depends on the age of the house big said gap is
find a standard IEC power cable, and see if it fits, that way you have a clue of an ethernet cable would work
well they do make flat ethernet cables
welp i just have a look
it would be a problem with the cable anyways
because my setup is like
wait let me
second
it's OT, so posting it here is fine 😉
on topic pictures is fine to post in the channels, only once it's off topic/just to show off, you should use #photos
Ok cool so
Here is the router
Table removed for some reason
here is the wall where my setup is
And the cable can’t go like across my floor
It would be a waste of time to put the cable all around the room to get to there because that’s the only way possible
🤷 i have a 50ft cable going from my router to my pc
ohh lol
If the gap is the size of the door pictures on the second one, you'd be fine with an ethernet cable
they make ready-made cables up to 50M long
i've seen ready made 100ft cables
50M > 100Ft
:o
100ft is "only" about 30M
but if i move house that's a pain isn't it?
not very
no?
no not really
it depends on how you want it to look
well if i am actually going to buy the ethernet then i would have to put it all around my room
because i cant have a cable going across my room
there's easy to use cable clamps that costs next to nothing a piece
aha ok
thank you
but im still quite attached to my decision on the wifi adapter
aha yes
i got that here actually
you'll spend more on a adapter then you would a 50M cable
it doesnt matter about the price

mPCIe is for laptops and smff cases where you have the antenna embedded in/around the chassis
You could also just purchase a powerline

Some of them even have wifi built-in
on a scale of one to boned how screwed am I?
Powerline adpaters in my experience is pretty terrible
UAGS: 50% boned, 30% stoned, reinstall your drivers cleanly, if it returns, take out your GPU and re-seat it in the PCIe port, if that fails, a reinstall of Windows might help
My friend purchased 1 from TP-Link a couple of months ago and he still gets nice results, 40mbps and that's what he's paying for
I've been using a PowerLine adapter for over 2 years without a single glitch on my SimRig
It highly depends on how your house is wired and the quality of it. Bad grounds everywhere and wrong polarity will lower it's effectiveness I assume.
My house was built in 1952 and it works well.
I think I will just go with the WiFi card but thanks for your suggestions ;)
Alright, your decision. I would've chosen for LAN -> stable connection.
meh
my friend recommended me the wifi card as he has one himself
building my pc when all the parts come through the mail, pretty excited
When I load up my game it says I don’t have all the DLC and I try download then again but there is no option to ?
download from the internet or steam?
Steam
did u tick the boxes at the bottom?
so when u scroll down on library>euro truck sim2 and there will be a list of all dlcs u have bought
Yeah last time that I went on the game then this evening I went load it up and it says that I require the DLC when I have the DLC but it says it’s not installed Even though it was last night
hmm
are u talking about the ones on the workshop or the ones that you buy on the steam market?
Steam market
They were installed last night but now it saying that they are not
install them then
mhm
yes'
and then it should just start downloading
maybe just uncheck the boxes and check them again
check updates and maybe see if it's selected on 'always keep this game up to date;
i never had this problem so im not quite sure
ive sorted it
nice
Thank you very much for the support.
np :)
@unreal holly What phone is that?
OnePlus 5T @river olive
Someone can help me with Virtual Speditor i put my freight where i want to open TruckersMP and nop it is not standing what i wanted i put trailer live cattle
So i have a 32 gb sd card and i wanna move downloaded apps over but get an error message ' Couldn't move app'
there is enough room on the card too
yea
Try to create a folder, and copy your stuff into it, the root folder has limits. @noble turtle
huh?
What don't you understand?
The root folder of fat32 devices have a limit of how large a file you can save there
Wow, I was looking into graphics cards and I wish they were just a lot cheaper.
Was making a budget build for my friend. However, the GPU brought it upto £800 which isn't bad.
However, £290 of that is a GPU 😂
i need help with geforce experience
Hello
I'm considering to build my first gaming pc today but I'm kinda worried i wont lie
or should i wait till wednesday so my friend can help me?
If you need help with parts, plenty here who can assist
If it's just assembly, it's not terribly hard, very little that can be plugged in the wrong spots, and those that can have protection usually
Yeah, it's mostly about the cables being connected
If it requires force, it's probably wrong 😛
All modern cables are keyed, so you can't plug them in incorrectly, except for the front panel header, but that's just reading the manual and matching the plugs
watching eg Jayztwocents or LTT's build guides can give you some nice build tips too
Hmm thanks
but what about led lights? is that connected from the power supply?
i have seperate ones i bought
Depends on the motherboard and led lights, some motherboards have headers designed for RGB lights, reading the documentation for the LEDs and motherboard should help answer that
Aha yeah
If not, if you link us what you've purchased, someone here might also know
alright cool
the only problem, the led lights came with no guide whatsoever
unless it's in the motherboards guide?
What connector does the LED light(s) have?
That would plug into the power supply, a motherboard wouldn't contain a molex connector (which is what is shown in the image
alright, cool thank you
im ok with the installation of hardware but it's just connecting the cables and to not damage anything
so that's why im like meh
Like tuxy said, it's hard to connect anything in the wrong place.
Your PSU manual/other hardware manuals (or internet) will tell you what goes where
Not very
be aware, molex connectors can be tricky and may require a little force, unlike 99.99% of connectors in computers 😛
I broke my molex connector on my fan XD. If you have some pliers then you can easily sort it out.
rip
The things like power/reset switch should be lablled but like everything else there would be more info in the manual.
What motherboard did you buy>?
i bought the asus b250f
The manual usually have the lables, some have it on the pcb as well
consult the manual if unsure
aha alright
it's popular to bash on reading the manual, but when building a computer, it's nigh impossible to not read it a little at least
yh well the manual will be really handy in my case
i also have a question about the ram
so my mobo has 4 ram slots but i have 1 8gb stick, which slot do i put it in?
or does that depend off the mobo
The manual should say
it depends on the wiring of the slots, but it's usually either first or second slot
oh ok
with 1, it doesn't matter too much, but when you get to 2 sticks, you want to pair them together, so you should mount them in the same colored slot
it's once you get to high-end server systems where the difference between slot 1,2,4,8 and 16 actually starts to matter more
ahh
From the manual, DIMM_A2. Should be labbled but it appears to be second one across
2nd from the socket ^
yup got it
you count slots from the socket side 😃
for the 24 pin connector from the psu, does it matter which way it goes in?
oh ok ok
the side with the retainer should have a matching hitch on that side
yeah
There should be like a little clip thing http://prntscr.com/idoo8l
Which pin?
sec let me find the name
Oh, IK. The wires from the case
yeah
and they have 1 little pin but there is 2 of them
where do they go?
ohh the front panel connectors
Check the manual for the motherboard
Go to page 46 of the digital manual
should show you where on the board it is, and what goes where
It should be a fun and great experience.
You should be fine. There are many guides online and as long as you have manuals to check then it should be all good
thank you :)
so, no carpet and a nice work space, anything else i need to do before building ?
Ground yourself (You probs wont static shock your PC) but it's good just to touch a radiator or something before you start
oh alright
Just touch it once before hand and you should be fine.
yeah cool
What you want to do is keep you and your parts at the same ground level in reality 😛
periodically touch a ground point to ensure that you're not building up any static by moving around as well
Good luck
thank you, im about to get started
have fun
Listen to the man, he knows what he's saying :) static is your worst enemy !
I like to live dangerously, I have yet to ground myself when working on my computers xD
mostly dumb luck and sharing ground planes with the things I work on is my guess for why it's gone well
don't be like me
I bought a static wristband thing. I do quite a lot of phone repairs (Like screen replacements) and although hard to static I like to wear it
This was months ago
It's cheap protection against a very real component killer
Well, I saw a youtube video where they purposly staticed a load of PC hardware. Most of it was ok afterwards apart from 1 thing.
And that was with quite a bit of static iirc. IDK tho
Opinions of the Ryzer 3/5 with onboard vega graphics? I just saw Austin Evans didn't even have a graphics card
I think that it will be reasonably good for budget builds
Same with the Intel chips with vega
I hate the prices for GPUs now. So I think for people with a tight budget, a chip with good onboard graphics is good
I also believe the Ryzen 3 is only $100 which is pretty good
hi um
i have a problem with the io shield
basically idk if it's meant to be like that but it's like bendy
u can bend it in and out
and when i try to place the mobo it doesnt rlly stand out
It is tempting tbh with what GPU prices are like. However, the FPS is quite low on some benchmarks. However, on other benchmarks I've seen like 50FPS on GTA. But for the price it seems great and you can't really go wrong
Woop woop 🎊 Glad to hear. Now it's time for you to install all your games
Wat case is that?
Also thanks to my dad for helping me with 45% of building
nzxt s340
But it’s taken apart for now xD
XD
idc about the computer
you need a 3rd fan
Don’t fit
why
Oh, nice. If I ever get enough money I would want a black and blue NZXT case
Ahh nice
I bought black and red
the only problem
where the hell do I connect the led?
Molex connector .
Well done @charred granite, do post more pictures 😃
@grizzled crow The front pannel would probs cover it up. I don't believe the s340 has a clear front
i want my next case to have a clear front
My PC is junk rn. Litrally, I UPGRADED my CPU by spending £7. That's how bad of a chip it is.
But I make do with what I have and it works pretty well
Which PSU do you have @charred granite
