under settings, controls, there is a list of devices. You can add one yourself, given your control element has been recognized successfully, else, this option will be grayed out.

If the first controller is set, the game will let you set second one should be detected by the game. You'll see the names of detected devices in the log. To assign buttons on set controller, head to "Keys and buttons" menu. If you know the syntax, you can edit controls.sii in your profile directly. This allows you to set light mode directly, make the hold only assignments on turn indicators, or reassign debug view move buttons from numpad to arrow keys, or assign more than 2 buttons to single action, or use single key for multiple actions. In the manual section there is braking pressure modes PNG - this involves the combination of either spring and elastomer ring near the pedal. For the softest setting, remove the ring and install soft spring, replacing the hard spring, if it's there.

The capacitor failure is usually isolated to the device, where capacitor failed. If one blows up in your PC, nothing will be affected most of the time.

unless you invert its (the capacitor) position, it has a low likely hood of blowing.

Yeah I forgot about that, I just need time to learn how to use it, I am from the UK so driving with a truck on the opposite side I'm don't have the muscle memory to shift with my right hand yet.

You can still drive with sequential gears but the switch locks it so it will only go up and down without it sliding out.

You can check if Secure Boot is enabled with msinfo32. The system needs to boot in UEFI mode for that to work. If it is and Secure Boot is disabled, refer to your motherboard manual on how to enable Secure Boot after going into UEFI setup and how to check if Secure Boot is actually on.

The only downside to the Kobra 3 v2 is that the nozzle is brass, and when it wears out, you have to buy the entire hotend. The Kobra X already has a hardened steel nozzle, and you only need to change the nozzle.

Are you holding the clutch pedal? If the clutch is assigned, you have to hold it for the shift to occur. Moving the gear lever pre-selects the gear.

Also depends of the GPU you're getting and the games you're playing at... A good GPU can allow you to get a 1440p monitor, but if you play heavy games on a RTX 5050 you'll be stuck with a 1080p one

Otherwise, you should ideally look for an IPS panel running at 120Hz or above, with an adjustable stand

Maybe you could find a 21:9 monitor in your budget, which could be a good idea if you're playing a lot of simulation games

I recently picked up assassin's creed shadows after not playing it since I bought it at launch, I had it installed on a regular 2.5" SSD but for some reason the game would randomly crash and restart my PC. there was no pattern in the crashes.
I thought my memory was the issue, messed with the RAM speeds and all.
didn't fix it, probably even made it worse.
I moved the game last week to a M.2 SSD and haven't had a crash since.

so then I monitored the game in task manager to see what it demands of my SSD and I assume it barely pushed the read limit of that 2.5" SSD

i had a weird thing happen to me a while ago with war thunder, before playing it I was conducting research on a short article I was writing on the effect of RAM speed on gaming performance. After doing it I left my RAM speed at the lowest DDR4 speed (simply forgot to change it back), during my gaming session my pc froze on one frame. Had to restart and then my motherboard showed a DRAM error. Obviously I panicked as RAM costs as much as a liver now. Luckily just re-seating the RAM fixed it

tho, there was a few complaints from other people who experienced a similar issue while playing war thunder, perhaps it corrupted my RAM?

I took a look on the rtings page, the black smearing is during their local dimming test with the white square moving on black screen.
that's just a VA panel limit it'll always have a tiny bit of smearing

But unless your PC can handle a game at 300 fps and you actually benefit from those 300hz go for it (like CSGO, if you are a pro) just that the average human won’t notice a difference between say 144 and 300 hz. OLEDs are great but pricey. If your wallet is big enough to afford it go for it. Most monitors are good, just avoid the very cheap ones and you should be good

Is anyone here any good with batteries? I have a ebike which I couldn’t use for a while which left my battery comply drained. I then did a stupid move by trying to turn the ebike on where I saw low battery warning. After charging it and riding for some time I got a low voltage warning on my display. Is my battery cooked? (Battery age 2 ish years, around 50 charge cycles, a good li ion battery)

If the battery is severely discharged (like its voltage is outside its normal range by a long shot), than the battery may be damaged and shouldn't be used

It isn’t damaged as I have used it in the sense that it’s going to blow up. What happened was that the low voltage protection kicked in with a semi full battery. I hope it’s just a balancing issue and leaving it charging overnight + 12 hours on charger to balance it helps (read it online, some say it can help)

There is a chance a few cells or a cell group are unbalanced after they have been left uncharged for a while, yes. But it could (hopefully) just be a minor unbalance that the BMS can fix. Cells arent gonna blow up from that, if they did my charging and using it would have caused them to do it

i just took it out for a spin and so far its fine. We will see how it holds up after 20 ish km (before my battery had a range of 70-75 km) if i get a low voltage warning then its a unbalanced or damaged cell group which have to be replaced. Hopefully it isnt

BMS probs should have data of which cell is affected, or generally where it is located which should make it easier to at least identify the affected set

hey, I took another ride, my bike is weird lol

So when I start it up its giving me the low voltage warning again, fair enough. I change the controller so that it thinks I have a 36v battery instead of a 48, then back to 48 and it works. No errors, full charge and no issues while using max power

I think my bikes controller is weird. if the battery really was damaged I would be getting errors while riding even after I do my "trick"

re reply edit a wheel got drift, could be it just needs a good clean, but be cairfull if you decide to, if the steering is anything like joystick sensors in controlers, they can be fragile

because it is based on parallel processing, and benefits a LOT more from multithreading compared to usual programs/games, which are more "linear"

the biggest cpu to exist yet has 96 cores, iirc, whilst gpus have had over 4k cores for a few years now

this is also why GPUs are faster for rendering; while a CPU can be faster for a sungular task, it can only render <amount of cores/threads> pixels at once, whereas gpus can do >50x more at once, although a bit slower, but overall much faster.

if you really need a pc, I strongly advise you save up a bit more for better storage and RAM (especially storage, hard to find decent cheap options), try not to go with Adata, they are known for having quite a few reliability problems. The Motherboard has a M.2 slot, use it. I guarantee you it will make a difference over those sata drives. Good luck! I hope I helped in some way

Again, like I said before, this is a great option for uni students or high school students whom are on a budget and want apple. You could solve the overheating by adding a bit of metal or thermal pad to connect the cpu with the back plate (which if I know apple, is aluminium, so good enough thermal conductivity)
