The worst part about the one you drove Beni is that the hook is so far in under it so the dolly itself has a really long drawbar
mine is like 2,50 meters iirc
2,5 meter in length?
what
closer to like 3 meters damnit
Well i mean like i never driven something like this
No no Jรถlli
beni, i dont think your drawbar will be far off 2.5m
That's for dirt and asphalt hauling
I just know it was 25.25 mether total lengrh
yeah, but your draw bar reaches under your tail
Yes
For normal box trailers we tend to use shorter ones where the VBG hook is basically mounted as far back as it gets
Yeah for you cassette nubs
๐
But as said box trucks you ain't gonna see any in Sweden that has that long of a drawbar
Our 6 axle has an even longer drawbar than mine has
it was extended because it was next to impossible to reverse with a short one
what jolli? ๐
I don't want to
I prob need a couple of tries reversing
Well
If i see my father reverse this damn thing it looks so easy
But today i tried to
Damn
But looky this nub Jรถlli
A bad example pic ikr, but well the VBG hook is mounted about where the rear lights of the truck is
handy
Damn that would cost much more toll here
๐๐ค ๐จ๐จ๐๐จ๐จ
imagine missing the freaking ferry bcs some cops decided it wasn't your lucky day
oh, so not so dick-ish
But for sure, there are those kinds of cops too but not here really
bcs the ferry i took to go to ireland is like 14hour one way, so you have to wait 3 days for the next one
bruh
they arent police, thats the dvsa. the people who inspect the vehicle and your logs
theyre worse than cops
tbf if they aren't being dicks, they could follow you to the ferry and do the inspection in the queue
thats if they are...
which they probably will if yo do that ๐ but they cant actually pull you over. they can only request
however if theres a police car near by, then youve messed up
oh so you could just keep going and say "oh sorry, you were in my blindspot" type of bs
well, they have to be infront of you, thats how they probably got away with it ๐
didnt let him in haha
and remember kids, don't pull in front of a truck without respecting his safety stopping distance
Yeah same here we have SVV which controls vehicles and they can like request you to stop and you're obliged to comply with it and any signs they have up and if you drive past it they can however chose to call the popo to get them to chase after you
Y'all dont have enough axles still. 11 axles for our fuel trucks, and that is 1 trailer

and ours still take more weight with less axles
Speaking of bridges
This is what happens when 170t goes over a bridge it shouldn't
China
or
thats just poor bridge quality
im sure it shouldnt just snap off the whole bridge would it?
It's China
yea xD
It's a Chinese bridge
It was built to look like a Scandinavian bridge but much cheaper
it looks like the top part isnt even positioned partly over the supports
like they do basicly everywhere but china
Prob out of rice
They ran out of Ramen ๐
xd
I saw the video of that bridge collapse and well... it's disturbing, don't recommend watching it at all
i love that kinda stuff. now i really want to watch it ๐
I didn't see that as disturbing
ยฏ_(ใ)_/ยฏ
"The truck was loaded with 187 tons, while the maximum allowed load is 65 tons. When the truck drove over the pass, resonance occurred due to the overload, causing the overpass to collapse." But this tho, what an wise man
tragic
It's low life you're right cuz it's in a Volvo I don't think you can go much lower in the life chain ๐
Don't know. Probably not :D
does it show a fleet number in the top left? i take it if someone has that they can also control it?
I dunno if it's a fleet number or what it is but it shows a number there yes and also the number plate of the truck in question and mine ends with 232
I can control the heater on 5 of our other trucks from here too
ah, thats what i was curious about, if there was just a number you used to log in or something
Nah you need a login and proper credentials to access it
Like you get assigned an account by your company and then they can ofc limit what you can see and access and all that. You get to set your own PW tho but dang the PW requirements for this was insane. Had to be like 12 characters minimum and contain 1 uppercase letter, 1 lowercase letter, 1 number etc
so you cant just log into a different truck if you spied its number?
Nah
As said you have your personal account which is then in turn tied to your company and all that
Well you could still control them depending on what vehicles your company lets you control
Like I can control my heater in this app and the heater of 5 other of our trucks incl the twin truck of mine and then some other trucks that are further north
and they can all control yours too i take it
Well I actually think I'm the first one out of the office that gets access to this app
The rest doesn't seem to be aware that it's available or too old to even care
wake them up in the middle of the night, absolutely boiling
still think its pretty cool you can control an aspect of a truck from your phone. dont know if any other manufacturers have done it yet
Yeah it's really nice since ours have the cooling unit connected too so now in the winter I can heat it up before I walk to it so I got a warm and cozy truck while in the summer I can cool it down before I get to it
It's really cool that you're able to control such a thing through just your phone
I start Tuesday next week
Lol
But why. I don't really have much bad to say about the Volvo
I dislike Volvo so much that I've told my boss that if he gives me one I'll rather quit
๐คท
I told my boss once that it was good of him to put me in a Volvo for 2 weeks cuz it makes you appreciate how good you have it in Scania even more when you get back to it.
Lol

lmao
Wew
My fifth wheel won't lock around my kingpin
i read this out of context for some reason lol
I just put in my 2 week notice

@vagrant cosmos on Tortenรฅsen?
Oh dang thought I saw your red Volvo
Understandable
is it just me, or does that tipper body look crooked against the cab? at a fair angle
niet problem, normal katastrof
koleka if it drives it drives
It's Jรถlli that drives it, did you even expect something else?

I've been off work for the past week. Needed to decompress after three months of almost no days off
i had my first week off after 7 months the other week. Time flies when youre enjoying yourself
Aye longing for my week off when RDR2 releases
I have 3 weeks off in 1,5 mths
still don't get to drive the big boy truck do you? ๐
Oh wow
With a tag
Is it better for fuel for it to be an 8x2...?
I still don't understand why nobody has anything x4 there
We basically only have 4x2 here
The daf is a 6x4, the new one.
But it's a 8x2 for manoeuvrability and weight
Twin tyres reduce payload.
And no need
Plus, 6x2 is plated for 80t, so 176,000lbs. Enough for a lot of things
Moh, this is the one day I got on the 730 ๐
fine
This seems right
Nice wheel chocking
My favorite is when one of our guys puts one wheel chock between the set of tandems and butts it up against the front tandem so the trailer will roll like two feet before running over the chock
he wants to see it ramp up the chocks and do a jump
I've jumped over chocks like that with an empty trailer before
It's hilarious
Best Wishes from Spain yaa :))
They let you sit in the 730 by yourself? Woah
pretty sure they'd need a supervisor for you ๐
wheres this all coming from? ๐

6x4 or 6x2 Taglift for an All Arounder, boys? Your thoughts?
taglift,
saves on tyre wear
less weight for more payload
easier to manoeuvre in tight bits
@royal gull quick question, sorry for the ping, but do you know where to get foglights like that?
been looking for ages
tysm ๐๐ป
youre allowed to stay in the truck?!?
damn, here we arent allowed to stay, incase it did start sinking and say you didnt wake up or something
until its too late
and also getting to a life boat will take much longer.
so we always have to leave the truck
@mellow nimbus Yoo. I bought that for my Dad in Germany in Hof (Berg) (A Big Parkijng Spot for real life Truckers)
Ah alright
That depends on the ferry here
The open ones we're allowed to stay in the cabins in, but obviously the closed ones we need to get out and into the common peasant area of the ferry
Looks like it yeah
surprised he didnt swap it with the rear lift axle then
then he can kinda steer and just keep that up
True
wtf is going on here?
?
looks like a weird way to torque wheel nuts ๐
i get its designed to not put downwards force on the nuts but...
never seen anything like that
We have like an air thingy
Smth like this
I missed this.
Took this photo last night.
A few miles up, at Monument Hill in Wyoming, it was so slippery I was basically going up the hill at an angle. Once I got near the top I spotted a freshly jackknifed truck in the snowbank. Didn't get a picture of that unfortunately
I did stop and walk back to the truck to see if they were okay, which they were thankfully
The cab had actually been partially detached from the chassis and the trailer broke free of the fifth wheel. They had some speed about them
Beni, thats more for workshops, what Noxxi showed was the 'On the go' torque bar, ive just never seen one have the extra bracket on. Just looked weird at first sight
Yes of course. Never saw smth like that too
We usually don't torque wheels
O.o?!
I think we're not even allowed
What the...?
wOT
Why not?
We drop off our trucks when we come home and the mechanics usually look if the trucks are fine
And if not you'll get notified and get another truck with the number and keys sent to you
If something happens when you're driving they come to you
Which usually takes long....Good for you...You get payed for doing nothing then
Yeah I have no clue how to work it
I mean not being able to put any force on it and I need to tighten the nuts as I've switched tyres recently
Ohhh gotcha
it didnt come with studded?
Nah studless so I got them studded thus weekend and swapped all 6 on the trailer for Nokian Hakka
Talk about me being
after going over all 12 wheels
๐ fridge drivers.... ๐
And proud of it ๐ค
Hell yeah

More to come thought I'll share

Oh right didn't see that on mobile lemme fix
๐
Got to sweep this bad boy out night before last. ๐ Good lord I hate that part of my job.
I think I'm good for another month or so. ๐
There's a ton of food in there you can't see
All non perishable
I only have water in my fridge. I go to a restaurant with my colleagues everyday ๐
I generally go and eat by myself at places but if I get trapped on I-80 in the winter for a few days I want to be prepared~
Picking up the new trailers in Herzlake, Germany.
Oooh pretty
The truck is only dirty since its raining and dont wanna waste the money to wash it when it be dirty in 10 mins again
Yeah. Weather is going down here too
We barely have any places to stop and eat at here and those we have generally serve fast food or are really expensive. I mean I just want some proper food
We basically have an Autobahn Restaurant every 50 km
And do you have to bunk up a lot in your trucks in America? I mean I don't know about others but I don't generally bunk up a lot as if I want some food or drinks I just stop at a grocery store along the way
Aye Beni that I know, been in Germany before ๐
๐
In America, the truck becomes our house basically, we live and work in the truck.
I do that too but i usually only drive Sunday-Friday and on the weekend i'm home
I was out for 3 weeks at a time, but i am in between jobs ATM
I will see what i get at my next job
Well but yeah I understand that but can't you just pull into a grocery store to buy food when you need food?
Yeah...You live in America there's like a 24/7 every 1km
Not really, most stores won't allow a truck to park in their lot due to our size
We cant do that
That's a shame really how some of you truckers gets treated over there cuz I mean where in the world would that store be if you lot didn't bring their goods to them
I understand that they might not want a whole gang of you to be parked up in there for the night or so but you should at least be allowed to get in and do some shopping

@patent bolt I usually stay on the road for two months at a time.
Ah I see, but so your grocery shopping then is basically limited to what you can bunk up or get a hold of at a gas station?
Aye but to be fair your gas stations ive heard are massive compared to ours with a wide selection of stuff
ofcourse have u seen some of their drivers?
they need a whole trucksize of room to get out

How long do u guys drive a day
Don't have the patience for that...
slippery yet?
https://www.facebook.com/109513830473580/videos/1108075816058057/ is this how americans unload when theyve been forced to wait to unload way too long? @stable lynx ๐
How long you all drive a day
a lot
too much lol
Like?
On a normal week i work 14-15 hours/day
Max 10 hours.
Definetly over the average here
Is it manual or automatic truck
of course auto
Oh lmao
I personally do 8-11 hours a day driving with up to 14 hours on duty
Do you buy a truck or does the company give you 1
I work for a company
So they give u a truck
No
i feel it easier to park irl then euro truck tbh
It's so easy in ets
What is the technique
exp is the key word
irl i learned reversing cuz i tried thousands of times
the more you do it, the easier it gets
I have the wheel
The first time i reversed succesfully was when i was 14
Never just assume you are clear either
I was the proudest dude alive lmao
U driving trucks since 14
if you are unsure, do a walkaround

my father let me reverse his truck everytime we were at an undloading or loading zone lol
I have like a beeper in my truck
Usually gets the ppls attention
So many wrecks occurred because someone got lazy or complicit
still someone might be wearing headphones, so better safe then sorry
I once had this guy refusing to move when i reversed. I was so angry i just shouted his arse off lmfao
Why would you refuse to get away from a reversing truck?
just hit em
What's the problem like....
also, don't make it a habit of using your phone while driving
Never
We can run over a car if they are parked in a place where there is no possible way you will get around, provided you looked for the owner, and the police are on scene.
only when doing a burnout @vagrant cosmos
How could u use your phone when driving
by holding it?
That's difficult
it's so easy to just pick it up, it's stupid :/
Unless u got some tesla trucks
and pick up their car and park it where they cant get it out xD
I see polish truckers have the daily news and driving on highway lol
thats what they did at the industrial area i worked in a warehouse
i seen em with tvs
I like chushing them though
covering the whole right side
If u have a accident does your company pay for the stuffs @thick cedar
They have their tv on, brewing coffe making calls
Insurance existe @clear ore
The work of course
Of course i brew coffe in my truck not a problem
yes
They pay for everything
not fines
๐ ๐ ๐
Never had a fine
uh
And that's good lol
Not in my truck
Yes but not in my truck
ofcourse
my car is another story
Speeding in America crazy
Lol easy here
hmm
Autobahn
yes koleka
We dont got a autobahn
The limit is like 70
i drive waaay faster in 80kmh zones
I know
๐ ๐ ๐
xD
Where are your beds in the truck
in the engine bay
we fold the cab forward
and place a tent underneith the cab
๐

well
All good
true kolekas open the hood
and sleep under there
and have partys with other kolekas and bbq
All the kolekas here open hood and do the laundry
in 48 hour stops
theyre just high functioning alcoholics tbh
wait! you guys don't sleep with your cargo?

if u see how some of them drive that perfect when they get stopped with 6 times the limit
compared to some normal europeans who drank 2 beer Xd
I like it to be seeing the sky apple
xD
xD
๐ณ๐ด
basicly koleka van
:3
and hopefully some day a truck
eeh
maasvlakte
tons of em
got to love the ones who run containers and forget to unhook them so u just slowly see their trailer get lifted up 5 meters
I'll come back when guys are chill
I'm chill

He's both
this is the one i drive :3
thats a nice truck
Man is nice! Imo!
Man is so comfy
it looks like u got alot of space behind the cab tho
https://gyazo.com/c5ea4c0845276bed974018decf0d025c gaps for days
i drove a man Hooklift for 7 months, best truck so far
beni
The bed is nice
do u ever drive netherlands
maybe next year
Do u guys not have these
no
Disgustang
that stuff dont fit
even teh scania t's with 4 axles in europe are smaller then that
And that's my one
What u mean it dont fit
Bulky
try to fit an american truck in here
with an trailer that doesnt steer
and then turn at the end of the street

Trailers steer?
Some do yes
even the trailers that dont steere
with more axles then the american 2 axles
steer better trough that
then an american truck
on the machine trailer i drive, axel 1 + 2 lifts and 3 + 4 steers
i dont think an american truck can even go trough there without getting stuck
i assume u just lift the front 2 unless u have a certain amount of weight on there?
or can they only be lifted when its no loads
i can lift #2 with load, but there is more wear and tear

ah yes dont drive that truck to rotterdam port
Are u taught how to drive a truck
they will just give u 20 tickets
No
Yes same here

But we just do it
Well you can have 4 light on the rooftop
ofcourse
And some leds on the front
So i gotta learn how to drive a truck by yourself
since your obstructing your view
No
U*
YOu just drive
Man I know how to drive a car
i technicly would have to learn myself yes
Just not a big ass truck
i got all my licenses paid
i paid all myself
That's the good thin here
12-14k euro
that way if i have problems at the company i can just switch to a different one
without being stuck there for example 5 years
My company paid 9k for both of my licenses
yeah
honestly
id probs do that too
if u are forced to camp in truck for 48 hour break
just bbq with coworkers have some fun
xD
That was the week where there was a massive crash and we weren't allowed to leave
Had to stand there from Friday- Monday
nah, its just tight
i had been there before but years ago in a different wagon. remembered it being a bit bigger
xd
Where the grass at
uh
Nah its my Ipad connected to the stereo via USB streaming YouTube Music ๐ค
That's cool
These trucks actually support Apple Car Play
Done for the week :D
@patent bolt Lofast? :3
ahh, cool ๐
Aye rather not, got pissed at dispatch for sending me out here on a Friday
I'd rather be home now playing the new Modern Warfare
i forgot it was friday already
Aye I feel ya
Unload boat tomorrow tho, 1000 tonnes
Oooof working on a Saturday no thank you ๐คฃ
U guys take some beautiful pics
some weapon that
Aye lifting quite high
question, where do you guys have your shoes while driving?
On the feet
Noxii, I'd love to drive wherever you live ๐ฎ
It's up in Northern Norway Jumpy!
@patent bolt any chance that company will hire me if I get a visa? ๐ god that's beautiful
@vagrant cosmos I keep mine on my feet ๐ค
but ud needa speak their language
Man is there any chance a company would hire me if i live in the usa
In the USA they'll hire anyone with a damn pulse.
Just look up "Swift trucking fails"
Aye Swift is well known, but I wonder if that's because Swift is sooooo big that like ofc they're gonna have some bad drivers if they have tons of drivers
I still haven't paid C.R England back ๐
look at waberers
they went bankrupt cuz their drivers
so they got taken over now
xD
And yeah Lim you'd need to learn one of the Scandinavian languages if you wanna get employed by my company ๐
Waberers is the EU Swift
So I'm not a trucker
But is this a good career
Cuz i like traveling u know
Seeing the stuffs
Driving
Well... When I get my 3,000 miles a week, I make about $1,400 before taxes
For that week
Most of the time my paychecks are $500-$800 because of waiting to be loaded and unloaded.
You drive for 11 hours, stop for ten, then do it again.
Well u take breaks in those 11 hours right
Truck's limited to 65MPH, so after ten hours you can do about 650 uninterrupted miles but obviously you'll almost never have a perfect day.
U drive a truck in the usa?
I take a half hour break after driving for five hours, then drive for another five-ish hours. Running the clock out 100% is almost impossible.
I do, yeah. I drive for Knight Transportation.
wait
u can drive fivehours before u guys need to do a break?
thats kinda stupid
like most of your roads are straight u can fall asleep easy
in europe u can drive like 3 then 15 min break
and so on
You are, yeah.
u can just keep on driving on one straight end if ud feel like it
wtf
thats so unsafe
I mean... You can take up to a three hour break.
We do, within 8 hours of starting the day
If you need a nap you have the time.
We have an 11 hour driving clock and a 14hr work day clock. So you can use 3 of the 14 to sleep before it starts eating up your drive time.
I hate stopping.
I have the endurance to not need a break. I just stop to use the loo and grab a snack outside of taking my mandatory 30min break
The less I move, the less money I make.
Oh, that 14 hour clock also counts for pretrip and fueling. Any on-duty not driving time.
Reason i asked about the shoes is because i (and most likely Noxii) keep them on the ladder ๐
๐
Not driven with shoes on for years
It feels so weird to not have them on for me
You get used to it, also keeps the truck cleaner
Need to start doing that
put them on the top doorstep since the door covers it + keeping truck more clean
since most people got like either slippers or something they wear
My door steps are exposed ๐
Go in and out the passanger door ;)
Anyways back to sleep, work in 2 hours xD
Safe travels!
U ever drive over some scary bridges?
I need fuel and then I'm bound for Illinois. I picked up from Calexico, California earlier
Not really. Unless you count ice and slush on I-70 through Glenwood Canyon in Colorado.
I never drove in snow
I have driven U.S 6 in the snow... That's kinda sketchy.
Im a Florida boi
๐ ๐ ๐
U drive on like cliffs and shit right?
Or are all the highways pretty much straight
Still waiting on a truck for my new company
My jobb half the year
I drive on the mountains quite a bit.
@vagrant cosmos ever tought of livestreaming that stuff in the winter?
would be pretty fun to watch tbh
Just yesterday I was in some canyons in Nevada and Arizona. Playing the Fallout: New Vegas soundtrack haha
lol
So like on the edge of em?
Yes, but i don't have signal for most of the trip

This is kinda the extent of the danger levels I experience. Imagine this, but on the side of a mountain.
xd
but in scandinavia etc
most of the mountain roads at the bottom
so there wont be as much fog etc usually
man i wanna drive in scandinavia irl tbh
Lmao true
U ever drive on something like this @thick cedar
That was I-80 coming up to the Evanston port of Entry in Wyoming, Eastbound.
probs a weight limit for like 5 tons on a road like that paper
Trucks do travel that.
well
My guy
That's the million dollar highway and it's in Colorado iirc
million dollar?
Have never driven it myself but I've driven U.S 6 from I-70 up into Salt Lake City. It's a lot like that.
The kinda weather i usually work with in wintertime
I'm coast to coast OTR
That's cool
I love that weather so much ^u^
But i dont got the balls to drive on that edge
I prefer the Midwest though.
Utah, Colorado, Wyoming, Idaho, Montana, etc.
I actually collected my first Knight truck from Lakeland, FL in Polk County.
How fast u go on those mountain roads
Picked up my first load for this company in Jacksonville, FL and took it to Atlanta.
I do whatever the speed limit tells me to do. I like living
i honestly want to drive in snow
You can generally get away with 10-15MPH over the limit in some places, but it took me a long time to get up the courage to try that.
Speed limit, what's that?
Do u get to pick where u wanna drive
On I-70 coming down into Denver you BETTER be doing that speed limit or you're gonna kill someone.
Let's say I dont wanna drive on those mountain roads
No, not really
You can choose, to a certain extent, yeah.
Depends on the company
You can politely ask your dispatcher not to send you that way
It has worked well for me so far. No NYC
Yet
How much was your license
NYC is a no. Period. If I am dispatched to there, then I will refuse the load until I quit
Y no
Lmaoooo
Can't even enter until 6 PM, 4 hour wait on a bridge, most deliveries are stupid small. And traffic can go F*k itself
Do u work in the us @stable lynx
Yes
How much is a truck license
My license was 10k
Yeah.
C.R England bung me harder than my ex ever did
When you renew it it's just like renewing a normal one
So u gotta rack up that money working at retail
Well i never renewed mine
I'm 18
๐ ๐ ๐
Hell
No
C.R England paid for it.
I have yet to pay them back.
The licence isnt that bad, its the schooling that will kill you
What's that like
Takes about two to eight weeks depending on who you're going with
You learn how to pretrip, back and drive the thing.
I was top of my class (which shocked the hell outta me) since I'd been playing ETS2 and ATS for the last six years with a wheel and pedals
It absolutely did yeah
so if ud look with mouse in mirrors etc
u will do it irl too
alltough ud be trying to reach for a mouse and then go like
its not pc
My actual OTR trainer was wacked out by the fact that I always watched my trailer in my mirrors from day one.
I needed no training behind the wheel.
Only the paperwork side.
u dont want a kid under it do u
Exactly
But I meant when turning
A lot of people, apparently, don't watch their mirrors when they turn
Yup
like what if theres a miata next to u at an traffic light
ud litterally pull your trailer over it
till the wheels go over it

Yeah.
Or you'll smash the shit out of a lamppost with your trailer and then that's your job gone.
Let me find that video...
hmm
well
its not hard to hit shit with american trailers
since they dont steer at all
like
even european trailers without steering axles steer better behind the trucks
Swift Driver #swift #driver #truck
THIS is why Swift is the wrong company to work for
Their trainers are trash
I now work for the biggest trucking company in the U.S though.
Knight Transportation has purchased five companies including Swift Transportation and they're slowly turning the company around.
They couldn't save HVH or Falcon, but at least they got KoldTrans
Also a big advantage you Euros have over us is your trailers are only... 30M? Ours are 53ft
only in finland
they have that big
wel
their biggest single trailer is like 25 meter there
we have stuff like this
sometimes with 2 trailers onthe rear
but usually this
I've seen those in the U.S for car hauling.
I would love to drive a rigid.
Same
this is like
the longest we have
in most europe parts
where theyre allowed
this is like 35 meters or something if i recall correctly
what truck brand is that
But yeah... Our semi trailers are absolute units
They're DAF trucks with a Peterbilt badge
they dont really even look like daf
iirc they're the C types
Actually Capri that's not quite true
ร land has it too and so does Sweden
Norway is also in the process of testing it right now as well
the big 5 axle 25 meter trailer?
O.o
hmm cant find pics of it
have fun'
Thank!

any truck driver from the US? do you need a tachograph card and a driving card in US ?
Idk man
You mean the jumbo trailers Capri?
What in the world

@thick cedar That hat looks uncomfortable as hell
Nah but you have elogs now
E-Logs are okay
It's the ELD mandate that's trash
AOBRD systems were ๐
Waking up in Texas this morning. Conrad, specifically.
Last night my fuel economy got crazy ๐
is there any companies you guys know of in Canada/Usa, that hire drivers from other countries?
Leaving Tommorow morning South of Spain - UK

Most any, as long as you can speak English
well, i had B+ in English
but problem is that i live on the other side of the ocean :/
