Lol like I said
For sure ๐
There is a Knight Reefer Volvo basically pointed at me
LOL.
Silly Wolvo
They only ordered like five or six pallets... Don't know why they aren't done unloading yet
I finally get to see how much data my laptop uses when connected to my hotspot
It's used a total of 10GB since the 14th of this month ๐
Because they are slow. I spent 13 hours at a Walgreens once. 11 hours in they told me I could leave and come back
After three hours I call my DM and make damn sure my detention clock is started.
Then they tell the customer my detention clock is started.
After that it usually takes them an hour or two at most.
I gotta start that manually, and update it every hour
Automatic arrival but manual detention
So I don't even get sleep
I'll keep my automatic detention lmao
That's BS
I got 22hrs worth of detention due to Cargill parking me for a full 24hrs and some change.
Cargill/Lineage/Miller, Walgreens, Sygma and Smith/Kroeger can eat my shorts.
I figured out that I probably wont get paid after 5 hours of detention anyway
USX likes to short its drivers
tbh Knight isn't supposed to pay us detention after fourteen hours but they will
They cap us at $50, but I got a good manager
Take care of your drivers, they take care of you.
My dispatchers learned this.
I have a CDL.
If they want me, they need to keep me happy. c: Leverage is nice.
Mind you, I am VERY easy to please. Give me miles to run and time with my lady and I will not complain
Exactly. My manager has gone as far as to argue with a shipper for me on my behalf, when they refused to load me.
Fantastic!
I arrived 4 hours earIy, left 3 hours after my appointment, and returned the next day, first thing in the morning. They handed me a paper that wasn't completely filled, told me to sign it, saying I was late. I refused.
Wal-Mart falsely terminated me from their account because a guard stated I was "Watching videos while driving" and padded on "oh he also ran one of our stop signs" to make me look even worse.
My phone is lined up (unfortunately) with my hood mirror. So when I look into it, it looks like I'm watching my phone. To top it off, it was just playing music. :/
My DM went to bat for me and my terminal manager dropped it and got me an 1,800 mile load to make up for the false report.
Damn
I was still removed from the Wal-Mart account, but screw those guys. I hate Wal-Mart anyway. Last thing I want to be doing is contributing to their shenanigans.
Ye
Also, they tried to get you to sign a false document?!
The shipper did, yes
Yeah, I figured. Dude, that's awful.
One of my stops in Vegas actually said that they were short a case of 17 steaks. Started to accuse me and I reminded him that HE cut the damn seal.
He shut up real quick, took his lumper check and buzzed off.
oh god that reminds me
I am not looking forward to writing out another check for this load
god I hate lumpers
Don't get me started with them.
They barely know english and they're all unionized.
Easily one of the worst scams out right now.
Yup.
I keep forgetting to tell dispatch I ended up paying the lumper for a load I did like two weeks ago and they never gave me a receipt. I was unaware the money came out of my paycheck and was reimbursed via their system.
Probably why that paycheck was $350 instead of $500.
Big oof.
I damn near shit myself the first time I was told to pay $150 for an unload. I called my company and they took care of me
Lumpers piss me off to no end. Companies like Cargill are too cheap to hire their own people so they contract out and they make money by the trailer via their little scheme.
They know we have no choice because we can't touch that crap. Contamination and whatnot.
I almost just left without my bills that day
Well, I definitely can't handle raw meat nor can I legally operate a forklift
Because they unloaded me, then told me to pay
Dude, I know a guy who SHUT THE REEFER OFF and left it detached in their door. Threatened to leave if they didn't take an EFS check because they wanted cash. They had to unload the trailer or else it was going to be ruined right at their dock and they would be responsible.
Needless to say they took a check afterwards.
iirc they wanted $350. Absolute racket
Wow, I wish I could do that
Technically, you can. If you don't mind dispatch getting a little salty. ๐
I am box only
Aww, dang
Ye
I do miss dryvans... So simple. Drop and hooks every day
I wanna do reefer
Fuel the truck every 1,200 miles and keep rolling, no need to worry about reefer fuel
What are you making at USX anyway? per mile, I mean.
I'm at 42cpm at Knight and that was my starting pay
Also, US Xpress wont install an APU in my truck, even though my dog can easily mess with the radio, turn on the blinker, and lock my doors, plus the heat, so I need to keep the engine running
35 cpm right now
Not bad!
Knight doesn't have APU's either. But it doesn't bother me, one less thing I have to worry about breaking. I just idle the truck if it's 70*F or hotter
'Cause 70F when the sun is out turns into 90F in the cab real quick
This truck shuts down at 68F and above 28F
iirc mine shuts down at 65F
But if I don't shut it off at all when I stop it'll stay running all night
Woke up last night freezing my balls off. Was 57F outside and like 30F inside my rig
My god your people are slow
oh god what happened lmao
Are you unloaded yet?
oh, nope
they charge $40 per billable hour here so I'm not surprised they're making sure it takes an hour
knobgobblers
I think I might get a receipt book. I got an idea.
oh?
So they charge 40 per hour, and my company doesn't do detention well, so, I say we start charging them ourselves.
Let's say, 50 an hour you sit?
Lol
That's brilliant.
Pretty sure that's something you could get fired for if it gets reported though. ๐
Dang
I'd ask your company about it. If they say no... Probably not a good idea but I'm not saying don't make them eat their just desserts
The reason I say it isn't a good idea is because it's not your truck.
Plus they agree to a certain amount of detention whenever the company books the load after a certain amount of time from what I know.
When I get my rig, I plan on limiting it to 80MPH.
So essentially, once I figure out how much it costs me to sit for a day, I'll divide that by the hour and charge based on that amount so if I have to sit for a day I can recoop my losses or at least half of them for that day.
Hmm.
Knight charges $24/hr.
I get $12/hr of that $24.
I know if I run 600 miles in a day (And I usually do) I can make about $250.
That's at .42 a mile.
Imagine 750 miles a day at $5 a mile.
Nobody would hire me to haul their freight ๐
I average about 550 miles myself
What's your rig limited to?
68
I'm limited to 65
YIKES
I either get short loads, or I get loads that are delivered 2 days after I get there
So no point to rush
Yeah I pass Knight all the time.
I get loads over 1,300 miles relatively consistently too
Prime and TMC are the slowest trucks I have ever seen
I think Prime's flatbeds are 57
Ah haven't seen many of them
which is funny because it negates the tarp pay and higher ppm due to running less miles
TMC is 62
So is Wilson/Jim Palmer
But 57 is deadly on the interstate. Speeds out here are 75-80 most of the time
Well, my 14 hour clock just expired. WTF with your people man.
I have no idea ๐
Yeah dude, Cali ain't no joke! I do not run 55 on these freeways. 65 all day long
55 or 65 though, the guy that slams into you at 100MPH from behind while looking at his phone is still dead.
Dude, I was 5 miles from your dropoff today
๐
I'm off Spreckel in Manteca
wait
were you at the Love's with all the French tourists this morning?
Pilot across the street
Lmfao
I stopped in there to get food and got swarmed by people taking pictures of semi trucks. I let one guy in to get a bunch of interior photos
9 am this morning
They didn't speak any English, only French
wow. We were across the street from one another.
At the same. Damn. TIME.
๐
If only we wanted arbys
Right?!
We would've met and I wouldn't have known it since I have no idea how you look lmao
Best way to get here right now is I-5, Hwy 99 is slow coming into Sacramento
They had a wreck happen as I was coming in, I ended up on a street parallel to the highway to avoid it
Aw yis
I'm also going on hometime so I can just PC to the truck stop c:
I love personal conveyance.
Have abused it a few times to get to my destination if it was within 50 miles of me ๐
That was at Navajo... Haven't had to do that with Knight
yet
Haha
Finally.
Have to call claims because the lumpers stole a case of meat and put it down as missing.
I'm saying they stole it... I don't know that for a fact.
But every time I deal with meat and lumpers, some always goes missing.
I literally have no issues with any other freight.
Jesus tits! @stable lynx I'm en route as soon as I hook back up to my empty
$266 to move SIX PALLETS over the course of five hours!
I should've asked if you'd be cool with me knocking on the door ๐ not gonna do that just in case
@thick cedar you still awake
Ok imma get out my truck here in a minute and head inside
Alrighty bud. Let me know when and I'll head that way.
K
๐
Dang you need to clean your window
Did the 2 of you get to meet?
Ye

Yup. Absolutely stand up guy, he is. C: Talked about our shenanigans for a few hours before heading to bed.
Nice
Pretty cool how you two managed to cross paths.
Seems to of happened to a few of us at some point
i might have seen brad drive around before since i drove past a couple of places where he posted pictures and saw one of the trucks there
It's a small world c:
It really is
Yea this dude is real cool man.
This parked next to me today
It's not yours tho is it Vince?
Nah it isnt

Please read the channel description before posting anymore online pictures, if you want you can share those in #photos @thick cedar
Depends on the projector
Nice ๐
I mean, it's smart.
But the boss payed extra for us to get a Television inside of the trucks,
so i am fine.
ive never used my tv,
ever
You can get better porn on the mobile phones these days...

You could get the real stuff at truck stops instead
or you could get more than you bargained for instead more like ๐
might aswell open the window
a laptop is more practical
Gaming Laptop
for when you wanna play ats on your break time
Or ETS2 ๐
Thought you would be out of there by now @thick cedar
I am spending my 34 in Phoenix, AZ
I'm leaving tomorrow. Had another day with my lady today. C:
My next destination is Phoenix! ๐
My load picks up tomorrow from Tracy, CA at noon and ends in Phoenix off Buckeye
When you gonna be in?
@thick cedar From when I was in Sacramento it was nice
but I was in the more urban parts so that probably explains that
Suburbia in Sac is noice.
On the surface.
All the Karens hide there.
I saw the Karen's final boss rocking pink hair and a Range Rover today.
oh
@stable lynx my appointment is 09/30/19 at 0900. I'll be there well before that hopefully.
@round panther I'm staying at the truck stop on 2828 El Centro Rd in Sacramento
To give you an idea of the area
I am scheduled to leave at 0500 09/29/19
I was only there for a day so I'm not at all familiar with Sacramento.
Big oof hahaha
But no guarentee
According to my preplans, I'm going to go back to Cali from Phoenix then grab another load out of here to get 'er done.
going back to cali is the name of a song by the notorious big
I've been listening to California Love by 2Pac, California Soul by Marlena Shaw and Cowboy by Kid Rock way too much.
I am on I-10 at exit 135
ah! Nice spot for a yard.
Dude they better get something from the 100 yards around here that gets me home
For sure ๐
Hello truckers
I need a professional opinion
Anyone here?
Its a question about engines!
Engines? :eyes:
Shouldn't you be driving?
I'm waiting for them to load my trailer
It's U.S Cold Storage so I'm going to be a while. Have been here for almost four hours
USCS has a horrible track record as far as I'm concerned.
Americold is part of their conglomerate.
Much in the way Miller, Cargill and Lineage are tangled together.
They all suck and do not value my time.
My door almost smashed me.
Was opening the rear doors. Secured one of them. Went to secure the other and remembered I didn't have a door tie. In a lapse of very, very poor judgement I left the door unsecured and went back to remove a plank from inside the trailer. The door swung back around, and had the dock worker not been there to yell at me I don't think I would've noticed in time to put up my elbow and stop it.
TL;DR I just cheated decapitation by a 400lb door by simply putting my elbow up in a blocking stance as if about to be punched.
You being loaded now?
Yup!
why are your doors so heavy
Refrigerator.
It's all insulated to high hell so I can cool my trailer to -10F when it's 100+F outside.
My trailer can go below that but not even my doors are that heavy ๐ฎ
We often run them at -26C since we haul ice cream
Any trailer is a fridge trailer in scandi during winter ๐
lol
Aye funniest part is when winter hits and you can just take any bag and hang it out the window with ice cream in it and use it as a backup freezer
epic
In a short while its back to this again

@thick cedar we meet again lol
yeeee
I spotted and stopped to help out at a van fire earlier.
Nothing I could do but we got emergency services out there. Thankfully both occupants were safe.

Snowy peaks :3
Hadn't thought of that.
Hmm that yellow bulk trailer ahead has to be Haukebรธe @vagrant cosmos
I can't quite figure out where it is taken yet exactly tho, but just wait for it and I'll figure it out
hint, tunnel
Oh it's from Sortland towards Gullesfjorden
jupp ๐
something tells me you live close, since you guessed Haukebรธe :x
i was driving this one, went to get a load of old asphalt
indeed
ever been to Blokken ?
take the first right after the tunnel, and follow the fjord
HAK is making a new bridge out there somewhere, so we drive a lot from Myre to Rรธdsand to deliver or take away stuff
Oh is it nice out there? Nah never been there only been going through the tunnel to Sortland and that place past Sortland as you go over the bridge and to the left and pass like downtown Sortland which I always forget the name of
Stokmarknes
Hahaha like most of the Norwegian roads as soon as you head of the main road you mean? xD
yeah
this was a real challenge moving down the road, the machine is 3.10 wide, and the residents down there do not care to slow down if they meet you
๐ what axles steer on that trailer?
cool, good to see another low loader driver
Ah I see, sadly tho it's according to the law you that's too "wide" and therefore also you that are required to stop/yield to other traffic
i know
But yeah I feel ya, too many cars nowadays don't show respect towards trucks here even tho they often weigh as much as 50 times their cars and have a harder time coming to a stop or moving aside in the winter etc
I've reached that point in my career now where I'm like "I don't even care, I'm bigger than you and if you can't show respect then okey it's you who gets hurt the most if we collide"
xD
that works over here, if you keep going hard enough, they pull over eventually
helps that our roads are tiny af ๐
Worst i've done so far is asphalt, wake up at 7, get a load, drive 10-15 mins to Harstad, wait 5 hours untill you get to unload.. :x
asphalt is 80% waiting 20% driving
That red Scania is Harstad based
i know :x
And yeah works fine here too as people cut corners and etc and think they can get away with it until they see you coming with your truck and not like budging an inch for them and putting them in their place they basically poop their pants and steer clear of you in the last second xD
you know youve done it right when you still see their brake lights in your mirror ๐
yeah :/ if only people could learn to drive
Aye it's hilarious to see the panic in their eyes when they realise that they ain't gonna win that chicken race
๐
there is one place in Harstad i really don't like, that one tunnel right before the average speed zone when you drive out of the city
when i took the YSK, i scraped the tires on that little foot path they have in there.. :x
Mรธlnรฅstunnelen
maybe?
It is
And yeah meeting trucks in it is a nightmare and it's not uncommon that trucks smash mirrors with each other in it xD
The tunnels over Hammarรธya is way worse tho
there is a reason half the mirror on the semi is black xD

Oh on Stangnes
yeah
Nice nice
gives you a nice change of pace?
Takes away my sleep
We start at 3 am and end at 3 pm when we have the day shift
Night shift is ofc 3pm to 3am
ah well, never bored ๐
Only 12 hours
@vagrant cosmos (sorry for the ping) It takes up to 5 hours waiting to unload that? What do you do in that time then?
Nothing really
Na, you dont need to wait really when driving asphalt
Usually you get to feed the spreader right away and get out
Dunno why its so hard to work in norway
Log into Facebook to start sharing and connecting with your friends, family, and people you know.
Feel free to join and show us tipping trucks from scandinavia
Paparazzo ๐
@queen brook The reason that they have to wait is because the spreader should never stop for a longer amount of time so they'd rather see the trucks lining up on a line waiting than the asphalt laying itself having to stop
And sometimes the distance between the roadworks and the place they load up can be quite long
In my case it was because we were laying on the communal roads inside the town
Entrance/exit for the new tunnel and Hagebyveien
Here they atleast organize it that way no one has to wait
This new driver license app is weird :s
Weird, in Australia C is just for car not trucks
Our equivalent for trucks would be HC or MC
we don't do much of mutli trailers here in western europe, if so it's like 2 20 feet container trailers with a dolly
or a circus
Dirty trash truck
Aye saw SVV released their app now so you can get your license digitally in that app, quite cool
Cant wait for Them to get hacked and leaked
That will be a lot of fun ๐
will happen eventually
I couldn't even tell you how our licenses are lettered because every state has different ones. The only thing that's universal is Class A, B, and C. Everything else is different by state
Vice is a giant hot take
Delete this trash ๐
In all seriousness, glad to hear they're letting women work in proper industries.
its not that they dont let them, its just that most dont pursue it unfortunately. atleast over here
Traditionally in Japan the woman is a housewife, perhaps a nurse or doctor. I've never heard of a Japanese trucker who's female until today.
Not as far as I know anyway
Ehm no that's a false statement.
Nothing ๐
Fix it :>
Haha not mine tho but yeah, I can't access that anyways as I don't have a Norwegian license ๐

Well atm you are on saltfjellet
Not really as its taken earlier
Cheater
Atm I'm just north of Mosjรธen
Korgen?
Dรธnna, ouside sandnessjรธen
To Oslo actually
Well I couldn't cuz I got the trailer in Fauske and were racing against the train
I would have loved to go through Sweden
Sweden is really nice
And nah it didn't, the trailer I have on was supposed to be on the train from Narvik fullt loaded with fish but for some reason it never made it into it
So now we're driving it non stop down
Fish from vesterรฅlen? :o
Dunno really
It's a race against the clock tho to make it in time down since its fresh going for export
5 days, after that you can just throw the fish away
Japan, like many Easter Cultures, have been so embedded within the gender roles and the expectation that people don't really branch out from what they're "supposed" to be doing.
Yup and ofc our unloading time is set after the trains arrival time so that's what I meant that we're racing it ๐ฌ
It's good to see the generation now slowly edge away from that. Instead of doing what each individuals like to do.
Course, it'll be tough to fully fade away from that. In a collective society where they emphasize group over individuals, it's almost taboo to stick out and do what you like to do.

picking up the containers
do the rear legs not extend?
usually the rear outriggers extend
otherwise theres really no use to them
with the smaller cranes, there is only outriggers at the crane
but, with larger, above 30tm mainly. there is 2 sets of outriggers
and they might aswell not be there if they dont extend
so dont go and say they dont usually extend, because thats the stupidest thing ive heard
from what i see with those type of crane trucks here and with the ones at a place i worked
they never extend them
like outwards
why wouldnt they? on mine, if you dont extend them you reduce your lift capacity massively.
anything that isnt directly over the side of the wagon and you really notice it
the sensors for my rear legs messed up for a short while, made things so much more difficult

yours? @patent bolt
This is my new one yes
very nice congrats
show
An older Streamline R580
is is the one with the digital speedo?
no S's?
Nah
Known for a while we wouldn't get any S models
We're only keeping these for 18 months I've been told
the newer R aren't like the S with the flat cab floor right
i take it theyre the same height as the older Rs, so the trailers will be flush?
nice
They're a bit lower I actually think

Looks like I am looking for a new company sooner then I thought. They want to slow us down to 18 MPH slower then most traffic. I will not be in a truck that goes that slow.
18 mph? THat's mental
Yep
New trailer
must still be lettered with the new advertisement on it and possibly a new truck soon
The boss is maybe going to buy a new Scania S, he likes them but he also has good partnership with DAF
Maybe he gets you a new DAF
Does anyone know why theres no cabover trucks in the us? Shorter wheel base is very useful.
Less space.
Mostly in the cabin.
The doghouse sits between you and the passenger and you have to climb over the transmission housing to get to the bed
Maintenance is also a pain because lifting the cab up tosses everything you have all over the place
But yeah... I do still want a cabover
Simple solution, just carry a cardboard box and put all the stuff in it before lifting the cab
More like don't be a literal garbage can and organize your crap properly
Ah, good god...
This is out where my lady lives.
I'm glad I'm teaching her how to drive like a sane person and not like a Californian
a lot of our cab overs have a flat floor
if not, they usually have only a very minimal step, like 6 inches
its down to the aero dynamics why they like to stretch them out, and better engine cooling
but mainly just because they can
Well, I am officially done with my company.
Oof
Yeah cabovers here doesn't have a huge step as Disney says, my R has about a 10cm step in the middle basically and the new S has a completely flat floor, the Volvo FH only have like 4 or 5cm and I think the Mercedes Actros and Renault T Range are completely flat as well
@humble grail Mhmm i think he will but then it will be a CF for sure, i would like a XF because its a lot bigger and has more space. But idk i'll see.
I wish you luck though, hopefully you get an XF, if not, a CF gets the job done imo
-_-
Ok so basically for my Product Design A Level I am making a washing facility to go inside a truck cabin. It would be really helpful if any drivers (or really anyone who owns a vehicle of any kind) can fill in this form for me as it will help with my research, thanks
Link: https://forms.gle/SwGjjAqvL3qLhTZe8
a sink?
personally i wouldnt want one, im never out for more than 1 or 2 nights in a row. and ive never really thought, man i wish i had a sink. Basically becuase there is no space for it
i would rather have the space, than a sink
plus, that would look pretty ugly in a truck cab imo
No it's the truck of a colleague and friend of mine @formal minnow
He is mine but not yet decorated
nice

Just got back home from again and gotta say so far the Scania Next Gen trucks are by far the best truck I've ever driven and I can say for sure that the current Volvo FH (speaking of experience) can't even measure itself with it, they're 2 completely different classes.
I love my Volvo

Oh you have weekend now? I will start in 2 hours :D
Ah yeah not really i got home last evening and ill head back out on the road in about 2 hours here too
I see you're cleaver
I know some trailers have codes that only the company knows and you have to request it to actually know it
We have nothing as nothing happens to them up here ๐คฃ
okay can anyone explain me being a trucker?
like do you have a own truck, i have no idea how this all works tho.
thx
I'm working for a company
so you like rent a truck?
No
have the truck as long as you work there?
They buy them
do you have like every route you ride another truck?
No
I have my own truck
And i get a new one every 4 years
so like when you go work there, you get a truck, and every 4 years you get a new one?
I'm going to work in 1 hour
This is just my truck
No one else drives it
We all have our own trucks
and you can do whatever you want with it?
No sadly not
what kinda truck is it
A Volvo
A Crapvo
I've driven the new Volvo FH and I don't like them at all
xd
Told my boss that I'll try a Mercedes, I'll try a DAF if he wants but if he gives me a Volvo I'll quit
For me it's a good truck
Good gearbox, has space
It can drive

lol i hope for you
Scanias new gearbox is faster
Scania has more space in the cab as they've moved the dashboard forward xD
Scania has a wider bed ๐
Every truck has their goods and bads
I'm happy with my truck
truck*
๐ณ
sorry
Have you ever driven a Next Gen?
How can you seriously misstype those 2 words like that
I posted a pic here like a couple of days ago of mine
So scroll up and you'll see of all of ours I suppose
Um.
I'd suggest to keep it SFW. Please
Isn't Pabst a beer brand?
Has something to do with border crossing if I recall right
I thought it was something with Engine emissions or noise
@thick cedar ??
lรคrmarm
It's not that loud compared to the original
Smth like that
Ah noise levels
Yes
English not me good
you ever go to the netherlands?
I was in Sweden 3 times
thats not what i asked
loll
And i basically told you no
okay
lol
what do you prefer
night or day drives
?
night
where is your work bases
bases
less traffic, less idiots
based
what city
Well i drive to Coca Cola today
Both has their charms
or more idiots, drunk stupid 20y/o
Sometimes it hard to stay awake at nights
Especially when you haven't slept well
how long is your average drive time?
for 1 job
I can not drive longer than 9 hours
And 2 times a week i can drive 10
you can do 10 hours 2x a week correct?
Yup
but like for 1 job
how long are you underway
idk if thats corrects english
I'm working Sunday 10 P.M - Friday who know how long
the lenght of a drive depends on where you drive
Tonight I'm driving for about 4.5h to get to my dropoff point
New gens are nice, very nice. But have fun with the night heater, both our next gens have had issues causing them to stop working.
Granted yours might be a different heater due to colder temperatures.
I've never had problems with my truck
But it's only 2 yrs old so...
i cant bc i dont have a tuck
truck
Well speaking of trucks
See ya in 30 mins
Gotta go drive to my truck
have fun on the road
Well fun
ive had some issues with mine, but nothing ground breaking. worst has been a malfunctioning rear steer axle
Mine is the expensive one with it being able to cool my cabin at summer too
ayo gl
Also I can control mine via the Scania app in my phone
a remote controll airco
No
nothing much special tho
Its not the same thing dude
its a better version of an airco
Most vehicle aircons only run when the engines are running
mhm
It's just recently that trucks have started getting them built in being able to run when parked as well
its a great system
This is the first Scania generation that has that system
you don't have to get in a hot truck, and you don't have to leave the truck on
Volvo also got it on their new FH
Whats the warmest it gets in Norway though?
Mine can run when my engine is off
This summer it was around 35
Lucky
alright, i can see the point in it then. Over here there wouldnt be much point due to max of like. 25
And to be fair ANY cab gets warm AF as long as the sun is hitting it and it's above 10 outside
nothing a bag of ice infront of the night heater vent wont fix
Yeah I just used to idle my truck when I woke up due to it being too warm to sleep in
When it was like 40ยฐC i just turned on my engine and blew cold air for like 30 min, then it was good for 5 min
Yay
Summer!!!!
We don't have many german truckers anymore
Only from east europe
beni
where in germany do you work?
I had like the guys who load the truck say: "Wow, a guy who can speak german"
I work in Germany
where
like north
Germany
or al the way south
Germany

lol
Ok i need to go now. Cya in about 30 mins
wait, anyone in here ever drove from europe to england, via calais?
ayo cya
Fits you well then Jรถlli
Because im hot? ๐
No, because you're not cool
My new truck has an alkometer lock on it so I now have to go and find someone to blow in it before I can start it
Well many larger companies requires the smaller ones that drive for them to have it mounted in all of their trucks
I know for a fact the grocery store chain Coop here requires that all trucks operating for them have it
Also a weird flex but ok with the box on
Just 21 tonnes in total, usually it weighs around 35 tonnes
Light stuff

You too!
Holy cow people are quick to turn off their high beams now when the notice me
Chilling
Waiting for my colleague to finish washing his truck so we can change trailers
I love Sundays - Mondays
I'm screaming at my colleague that he's doing a great job
@patent bolt and @thick cedar gl guys, keep the road safe!
Yes koleka
how did u manage that
u got a lift axle?
Yes
It's fully loaded
because that is also illegal
wow
atleast it didnt take out your airbag
I literally drove 20 minutes
wow
couldve been worse.
does your company do their own maintenance?
Yes
why have they not send out a mechanic then
And i'm 6 hours away from the mechanic
wow
so they send out a mechanic to drive to u and back for a total of 12 hours for a tire
would be cheaper to call an local one
i assume u dont have spares either ๐
Nope
Of course i got the old shitty trailer from my colleague
He even told me the tires are not that good
lol
I think he's coming with 3 tires
lol
lmao
company i worked at shortly with 30 trucks
always had atleast 30 truck tires spare
and a decent amount of trailer spare
I'm telling you if i come home Friday the'll have like 100 spares in their Garage
lol
I guess he's already pissed cuz he needs to drive 12 hours
i would just say to my boss not my problem
ur spending more then a local one
whos there within a hour and gone within 30 mins after probs
since the tires basicly off the rim already
Idc i get paid good for just listening too music and watching Netflix now
Not my problem
true
and u can claim extra work hours
working late
since u dont have your driving time yet

Well i still woulda been sleeping at my truck
So don't care
Now i'm listening too music making breakfast
what u making
No i went to Pizza Hut

When everything was still good ๐
haha
Then i went to drive at about 4 P.M. and then boom
Well good thing i slept until like 8 P.M. ๐
lol

just think of life without truck drivers!!
Haha funniest thing is when an air bag on the trailer blows and you just cut off the air supply to that axle and strap it up and carry on ๐คฃ๐ค
Ehm you clearly have never done that
I'm watching Netflix rn ๐
Abd i selpt from 5-8 P.M. so i'm good if i have to start driving at like 1 A.M.
Haha yeah I feel ya, have watched like 6 episodes today of a series on Viaplay here
I'm on the ferry ๐ค
๐ฅ

I am just getting ready for bed. This will be my last runs with my company
And i'm still waiting
I hope you are done waiting by the time I wake up
Well hopefully
He shoulda been here 1 hour ago
I called him 6 times now
No response
You got 14 hours
I need my sleep
Do you actually sleep 14 hours
No lol
What in the world
#metoo
I sleep max 7 hours
I wanna sleep but I need to drive for a couple of hours when I get off the ferry
It pretty much is imposible to get a 100% score isnt it
Nah not really but as soon as you have it there's some person in a car pulling a stupid move ruining it for you
And that hill roll is ridiculous sometimes wanting you to roll in the weirdest of places
Mat master

Waiting on my load this morning
And I finally found my drop off point
That one is
copycats
A bit yeah but too curvy shapes
Ok. Well guys cya in 4 hours. Driving again :)

So, I have been without a load for just under 1,000 miles so far with another 300 miles to go tomorrow. I just have to love a company who cant figure out life.
Jesus
Last 4 hours to drive now until i'm done for the week
I should've worked until Friday
But because i waited 17 hours for my mechanic my whole tour went
Ah 17 hours waiting jeez, if we break down we just call Scania Assistance and they'll send out the nearest mechanic
Well aparently my Company only sends out our mechanics
I guess he had another call and then he was 11 hours too late

Lots of lots of waiting
Rip
Was here at 8, 8.30, its now 11.15 ๐

I clocked 822 miles of paid empty driving this week
oof
Hay, is there any American truckers that can give me advice for my CDL A test. I have my pre-trip and maneuvering skill test down but I need any advice for my road test. Like what got you points taken off and or caused you to fail your test,(If you did) and how did you fix or would have fixed it if done again.
obey the traffic laws

^the most underrated advice
Relax and drive like you would. Dont speed and pay attention to road signs. Make sure everything you do is deliberate, but relaxed.
what's the trick? turning wider?
Well...I guess it's not much harder to drive forwards, but backwards is preety hard
Nah easy as pie
would be easier if the dolly was longer
Not easy if you do it first time
the guys who drive gigaliner, combos (with a dolly) or b doubles are da real mvps tho
b doubles?
b doubles arent much different to the above combo. and youll find anything with more than 2 articulation points doesnt usually reverse much
so no, imo the above combos have it a bit worse, as they are expected to reverse a lot more often
yeah but the further appart those articulation point aren the easier it is to reverse, you don't have to jerk the truck too much to get it to turn the other way
that statement makes no sense, the articulation points are further apart yes, this means you have to jerk the truck more to get it to turn the other way
not less
i had it backwards in my head, yeah
but the theory behind b doubles and rigid with a dolly is the same
youve got 2 articulation points
so same logic
Worst combo to reverse is the one that has a normal trailer after the truck and the short and tiny wagon behind like in ETS2, those are a bloody nightmare to reverse and takes up so much space...
dollhouse i think theyre called?
Yeah might very well be, I dunno all I know is that they're a nightmare to reverse and takes up so much more space manouvering in any direction compared to normal 25.25
its called a calf but you can really call it whatever you want
I've heard B doubles are a pain in the arse
you cant be hasty or it's an instant frick up
and you can't do a fast manouver to straighten the trailer a bit like with a normal dolly trailer
but eh, never driven one so idk
Well so i drove b doubles then i guess
na thats not one

you
