@candid solstice that looks better the problem with that is only online ..:D
i will start adding custom POI on my sygictruck gps , might take a while ..:D
I forget that the country isn't covered by a mobile signal everywhere... lol
nearest industrial estates are good too
assuming you've got nothing expensive on board, some estates can be rough AF
definately, although since i dont do curtains or anything i dont need to worry about that, if they want to try and steal a 20+t excavator they can try

i wonder if a truck GPS shows the parking spots ?
are you looking for one tonight?
are your routes different every week?
do you transport expensive goods?
curtain sider?
mainly motorway miles or rural?
no, not tonight
i mainly transport general goods
will be nice away from traffic since the company is not paying for motorway garages
routes different every week?
yes
if there isnt software to find you parking spots, youll just have to use a bit of intuition.
i kind of have an idea of how scotland is layed out, and know a bunch of decent bits
but worse comes to worse, i just find a space
any space big enough to fit a truck is a parking space
aslong as you arent in the way
true π
i parked infront of a grave yard once with a 30t wheel loader π
but because i was gonna be there and gone before sunrise its fine
no one would even know i was there
π
This is how I was parked against a dock today. Needless to say, I bitched out my fleet manager and told him to stop giving me box truck loads
god
you work for U.S Express?
I feel bad for you dude
@candid solstice Still remember about the warning alert on truck ? Yeah I just found it on my country. That's device placed on back of his truck and the sound just long-mid beep. The truck is dump truck type Isuzu Giga
This the truck
Trucks we use at my company to haul sugar beets
1 truck 2 driver ?
I mean before someone talk it about 1 truck more than 1 driver is having bad income. So I thought it so rarely found a case like you.
we run 12 hour shift so its slip seating so trucks run 24 hours
What a bunch of cry babies π
i see they've never tried unloading on a busy city center street
if you're complaining about your truck being a few feet on the road, you've done nothing yet
ive blocked high streets to set up and lift containers
Have had to direct traffic around a truck backing out/in more times than I'd like to admit
we do it every day im at our yard
as its too small to turn in most the time due to trailers being everywhere
and steel lying everywhere
weve had to direct traffic away from a street in a town centre for about an hour because i had to move containers and welfare units out of our site
which meant i needed to set up on the street,
with cables and all hanging from the buildings
Daaaamn!

99% of my deliveries are unloading on road .... Many customers dont have a yard so Sam you kinda lucky lol
kinda lucky to have to block roads completely?
In my country always happen XD
They just completely block the road within 5 - 10 minutes just for backing up.
kinda normal,
youve got to other wise some idiot with a car will get as close to you as possible and not realise that trucks actually move
Ahhh I see, but in here many case is motorcycle just slip through the back of truck and almost got hit and the driver need hard brake.
They're kind of idiot not know how to hard to see blind spot with heavy loaded
tbh, theyre actually not bad up here
tend to give you space
but most of the time you would just rather not risk it
The plastic when everything else is paint π whaaaat?!
Beautiful trucks otherwise though
looks well
No its like horrible, because you have to watch for traffic , the goods , your own safety etc. I hate it when I have to unload in the middle of a lane, and that happens in big cities also.

sounds like just one more thing to watch for then
it never really bothered me to unload somewhere on the street
@azure vapor then you are in the wrong profession.
Maybe you should consider changing to like a office worker or smthing
Yeah XD
Just said if you got something happen in the middle of the lane, and you need to unload. Just said accident and need to unload, so you don't wanna unload the cargo and let your other driver/engineer do it ?
@upper bolt Interesting, as I recently figured out what it was in the UK. I posted about it here: https://discordapp.com/channels/307433337126125568/323725520439083011/609085857441382427
What is the average wage of a class 2 trucker
Depends on where you live.

In Brighton this fine morning.
Got me some Panda Express and I'll be bound for Ohio today!
panda express?
American Asian food
Orange chicken, honey walnut shrimp and pepper chicken with wantons, egg fried rice and sweet 'n' sour sauce.
Not bad at all c:
I get hometime this weekend. I cant wait.
π€
I get home time every weekend.
@thick cedar wasnt my choice to have that on the truck either but the next truck i will get will be paint and also i geus paints grill.
Painted*
This one has already 539271 KM on it.
Mine only has 450 000km on it and it's getting traded now π
Mine gas 97k miles. Real units π
I am at my delivery point. I get here in my window, and they tell me I am late. And that I will be waiting. So I said fine, even though i wasn't late, but whatever. That was 3 hours ago. They have not moved me since then, and have no intentions of moving me soon.
I called my fleet manager and let him know that my home terminal is 5 miles away, and my ride has no problem getting me. Plus there is much better paying jobs out there already for me.
Aye some truckers over there seem to get treated really badly, here no one would be up for that actually. We either get to load/unload when we get there or we won't load at all and they can find some other company to take it π
I leave here in 15 minutes loaded or not
I went to my home terminal. Not sure what will happen tomorrow
I finally got the delivery done.
I have a sneaking feeling that someone's gonna get fired for this one.
You?
Hope not lol

I was on time, the company was late
I sat for over a day waiting to get unloaded
Rip
Yeah, I just about quit today
Okay. Well lets hope you wont get fired
I got that same engine
It's so pretty
Noice JΓΆlli
Your truck reminds me a bit of this one I drove a couple of times before π
Close but no cigar
Except that one has the proper axle layout.
Nah its fine where it is

any UK lorry drivers have there own truck ? need some advice
own? as in bought?
yes
advice for what?
starting on your own
i was interested if there is a job market to be able to start as self employed
well i dont own one myself, but i do know its damn hard to get work with all the giants around with low prices
and you need a load of contacts in the induustry
not to mention very expensive insurance, maintenance and equipment.
mmm, so there is nothing in the Uk like americans have ?
i know in Netherlands the company Heister Camp will give you contracts if you have your own lorry
there is no market like that in the Uk ?
Avail
i wonder how reliable is this agency
no clue, never used it
yes i do
i have impreza and supra and honda
@formal minnow
i do but people think it is a lie
He's welsh, he owns a Supra and a honda, and he drives in Amerillo, TX. Plus owns a brand new tow truck?

i work in texas and i won 110,536$ from a scratch off
thats why i have thease vehicles
That tow truck is about $200,000 right now.
Doubtful, considering it's BRAND NEW
Ohhh, the lies are real here
It sucks that tow truck is a stock photo for a truck sales place.
yo keep talking shit
Sup
There's not a doubt in my mind that "Steve the gamer" here won 110k from a scratch card, bought a 200k wrecker that was kindly gifted from his Friend. Even though he works for a tow company already.
Owns a honda, supra and an impreza and the only pics he has of his truck. Is a stock photo.
Not one doubt in my mind π
@stiff wolf I wouldn't solely rely on the backload websites as their rates aren't amazing
If I were you I would specialise in one thing, like bulk powders. Either that or get yourself on with a container haulier
Unless you already own a trailer you can struggle with the agents
Rip jΓΆllis Sisu
That's gone a long time ago
Jolli has moved to the dark side now
Yep, rip jollis v8 instead π
For the sake of that truck I do hope its an opticruise.

Maybe an opticruise can protect the valves? π @queen brook
No its an manual ans its fine
My tire after a few miles in Tennessee.
Good thing there's a Knight yard in Olive Branch. Pulled 'er in for repairs~
I picked up this trailer in Memphis.
wow, you can repair that?
It's probably a remould to begin with, they're cheap and nasty
Often have chunks come off and large sections of the tread seperating from the tyre carcass
Wow, you lucky that tire don't blew off in the middle of the road.
I was ever feel that same before, not on truck but on my van. After driving fuel and oil inside coal mining site, I'm driving to town to refuel the gas and the oil. But my tire just blew off and almost got accident caused that.
Oof
Big oof for that XD
Maybe a Dell Latitude 14 Rugged Extreme will cut it?
Hahahah, I was thinking about that. But too expensive, in my country more Rp. 35.000.000 (USD $2.500). I need around Rp. 16.000.000 (USD $1.200) XD
I've had a steer tire blow. Trailer tires and drive tires just make noise, but a steer can yank you off the highway.
I am lucky so far. Going to Georgia over the next 2 days
Today some self loading action
mmmmmh, scania
typical volvo π
Don't you love it when the lot is empty, yet they cant park right, so they block driving lanes
iam actually more impressed that the truck and trailer are actually stright Fallen π
Lol
Not here, absolutely pissing down in Lofoten atm...
Rip
@stable lynx you've got a Cascadia, yeah?
I want a 2020 Cascadia. This 2020 LT is trash
Nice inside, at least
(My girlfriend and I decided to be lazy and shove everything off the bottom bunk to cuddle and it kind of made a mess of everything)
I really miss my KW to be honest
This truck is a great work horse, but not the best truck overall
Dude... This makes me miss my T-680 so much
It turns like a damn train. :/
I can't even back it up properly because my tight setups I use in the Cascadia and T-680 don't work with the International LT.
I'm usually very tight knit and precise but with this truck you have to be loose and lazy and there is no room for that half the time or anytime you're in a truck stop
Too bad I wont even be at a truck stop tonight
D:
I am glad I got a full inspection one on my truck yesterday. Because they broke something on my on board computer.
ugh!
That sucks dude
In other news... My lady gave me a gift for our anniversary.
Probably doesn't seem like much but I'm going to cherish and enjoy it~
So, I get to head to Tunnel Hill, GA to get my on board system fixed. I also get to meet the guy that takes all my complaints and gets me work.
o h !
You're gonna meet your boss. Nice...
Somebody's in trouble.
How much money do you guys get a mile?
I've heard some people can get up to $2.25 to $2.50, is this true?
Those are specialized transports mostly. I get .34 but I have seen 1.50 for the same thing, just a lot more experience
Net or Gross?
Net
Oh so $18 about then
Still not so bad
Im thinking about doing LTL
Multiple jobs at once
3 am wakeup call tomorrow
No traffic at least lol
@spiral creek
How much we're paid depends entirely on the cargo and whether or not you own the truck and trailer.
If you're working for a company like I am, you make between 23cpm and 48cpm (highest paying job I've found and it's flatbed)
If you own your own truck and the right equipment you can make better money. Up to $5 per mile or better for refrigerated, there's also department of defense so tanks and stuff, then you have HAZMAT, as well as super heavy haul. The pay scale only goes up from reefer. I know guys bringing in upwards of 6-8k gross income a week running plain old box trailers. But remember that they have to cover fuel, insurance, truck payments, etc.
A lot better idea then me lol
I used to think ATS was unrealistic. And in some regards it is. But it isn't that far off. The money you would normally get is tripled so it balances the scale but I'd love to get a proper economy mod going that's actually true to life based on cargoes and whether or not you own the truck and trailer
I geuss America is still way too far behind on something once again
Yeah, I find the fact that people get paid by the mile to be wrong in so many ways as it encourage the driver to push on to earn money even if they shouldn't due to weather, exhaustion etc and ergo a higher risk of accidents
We don't even have hourly pay here JΓΆlli, we have a set amount per month, ofc we get overtime but let's say I work 3 days one week due to few loads I still get paid for all 5 π
pay to the mile is a recipe for disaster
Salary? Works in some job types where you do same things every week. But if I was payed by salary I wouldn't like it.
The hours vary too much
It works for jobs where you have consistent hours
Trucking isnt one
Hourly wage is the best choice
Works fine for us as our salary is nicely put together
again, youve got more consistent hours, so itll work.
anyone without set routes will prefer hourly
How are mine consistent? We can start every hour of the day from early morning to late evening depending on what route.
you said your salary is put together? so they look at what routes youve done, and make the salary based on that?
sounds weird
either way, hourly imo is the best, as youre paid for what you do.
never out of pocket
So, 3 am today-1 pm and 11pm-6 am are my runs for this delivery. I hate this job sometimes.
Just for this 1 load
I am on my way to corporate to get my truck fixed
I wont deliver until 3 am tomorrow morning
ok so there is a park in my city that is under construction and every monday to friday i hear their trucks passing by
you live in a city
so theres gonna be traffic
the traffic here isnt that bad
if i will remember maybe tomorrow im gonna go and take a pic of them
I don't get it how you can claim hourly is the best when I get paid even if I don't do anything, I get paid a full day even if I just drive for 2 hours, I get paid if I'm at home due to lack of loads even so obviously the way we get paid ain't bad.
but what happens when youre actually busy?
So what? We're still getting paid for a full day no matter what
exactly, your days cant go over your card
youll get paid for a full cards worth no matter what, but in jobs where you might work past the card
then youll be out of pocket
which is my point
Paid per mile is probably one of the worst systems
So you're simply saying that illegally working is better if you get paid by the hour then?
not everyones job involvoes driving constantly
No but from when you start your card you have 15 hours to get your work shift done before you're required to stop for the day no matter if you spend 5 of those hours wandering about in circles or not
13 hours if you're out of 9 hours rests tho.
some people can deliver something to a site, then operate or assist in the operation of the machine
then a few days later theyll go away
but yeah thats also what i was getting at
because some people do it
not saying i do
Ofc some people are always ignoring laws, rules, guidelines etc from time to time.
However as long as we're obeying the laws the way we get paid ain't really bad
yeah, it suits the job
I'm laughing my ass off
I genuinely can't contain my guffaw
No front license plate π
I wish.
If I owned my own truck I absolutely would be.
I put my name in for my company. They are routing me to Tinnel Hill, GA for a fix, then I bet I will pull a couple loads
She thirsty
too bad i didnt have my phone with me, but i walked past a volvo fh 2012 parked at a service station
Is it something thats not normal to be refueling?
Is it not normal to post a picture of me refeuling my truck?
As this is "Real life trucking"
does the truck fuel pumps have a thing where you can engage it and leave it be while it refuels? like in the US for diesel pumps?
Ye they do
But it already clicked
So i had to do it by hand
Because it feul 85% by itself and the other 15% you need to do yourself.
No its not normal, nobosy wants to see an fuel tank only
@serene wedge yeah bcs the nozzle goes in too deep and it triggers early
@ocean jolt yes its nice to have tbh as you prob spend like 5 to max 10 min at a pumps
@queen brook if you dont have anything positive to say then dont.
I can send a picture how i am refeuling my truck.
If thats annoying you then dont react and just leave it how it is.
Na chief
If you dont have anything positive to say then just dont.
Freedom of speech yalls
Good for you
Indeed it is
Looking at those 500k KM just lets me remember how much i been through with this truck from being almost in a deadly crash to almost going sideways
And driving score
Driving score doesnt really matter to me anymore. I left it with 80%+ when i had 3 weeks vacation and it was back at 62 so i do not really focus on that anymore.
how did it lower if you weren't driving it?
Have you heard of other drivers
oh so the other guy didn't care at all of was just doing a whole lot of city driving
@ocean jolt because we have a engine break what means you spare the normal breaks and the engine slows down the truck by itself, when you go like pedal to the metal and brake last minute and stuff then it lowers.
It goes up when you save feul, Spare your brakes, And drive economical.
And i have to say i sometimes go 90KMP myself but thats most likely to pass up other trucks.
As i dont need brakes because we have a distance holder on the truck and cruise control you still have to be alert but the truck does most of it you only have to steer
If I can go 90, I go 90
no body really cares here. except cameras
Black road with white lines = 90
Unless you've got serious weight then 80
Little tires don't like it too much
Or if the load is utter trash and is barely staying on
nice
Looking at it it doesn't look that old, looks like so many American trucks still do today except the fact that it's a cabover
I think it's an old Freightliner Argosy but I'm not sure
That's the only Freightliner cabover I know of
I think the shop is finished with my truck, but they did nothing lol
Sounds accurate
The trucks missing it's chin so you gotta make up for it with an extra one
Eat ass π€£

Hello real life truckers
I need your help
Can someome tell me how much weight I can LEGALLY (real life speaking) haul with this chasis configuration for the box liner
AND
The same thing, with the same chasis, except with one axle lifted
In this case the front
In Europe, that is.
Google isn't helping me.
Or at least it fails to present the information in a form that I can understand
same weights
aslong as the lift axle is down when youre loaded
to prevent axle overload
And that leads me to my next question
Realistically how much can I haul with the axle up, tones wise
depends what coutry and what axles are on your unit
Ets wont answer that question
I can easily pull 40 tons+ with the axle up
Which isnt realistic
its not legal irl no
Yeah I meam
"Axle overload"
Forget about the legal part a sec
Say
My taglift will only support like 10 tonnes of cargo with the lift up
Now, realistically speaking
How much will the trailer support
With the axle up
usually 8 ton axles, so 16
So up to 16 tonnes, I can lift up
Anything further, lift down
I see
Unironically helpful
Thanks a lot guys
yeah, but it can also depend on how the load is spread, you could have 20 ton on the trailer, but it could be slightly loaded to the rear, so 16 ton of it could be on the rear of the trailer, and 4 ton on the front of the trailer
plus, trailers weigh about 7-8 ton
Yeah, I get the load position thing
But bare equal pressurez generally 8 per axle
I see
yeah, so theres already about 4 ton on the rear
Mhm
If that was ATS I could answer very easy lol
Very generally/vaguely speaking
If my taglift cant handle it
The trailer shouldnt either
in ets, yes. because loads are dead centre 100% of the time
Yeah
Yeah I getcha
Can I ask something else when it pertains
To trailer chasis
?
Which one of the two position variants is objectively better?
Imo its the first because its more steer-capable/smaller turn radius
As the wheels are further up front
Hence less time to turn
Or am I missing something
turn radius is the same, they design steers not to scrub tyres, so the trailer will 'pivot' on the middle axle,

It mostly for weight distribution
I see
So for ETS
Ima assume the first one is the better choice
Since they are closer to center
theyre both the same, no handling difference
I see
irl, the bottom one would reduce the impact of something heavy being placed at the back doors
less of a "seasaw " affect
And the first one?
i mean, you wouldnt even notice it, it would be a very minute difference
but more seasaw
π
π
I know ETS ismt the best realistic representation
So assume I'm asking from an IRL pov
I've made a S650 Scania with a long taglift chasis and naturally a 12+2 + retarder box
With the idea to be an
"all arounder" of sorts
Is this realistically any close to such an irl concept
A versatile truck, so to speak
Well yeah, but I mean I try to do well in many caterogies
because the last thing customers want is for the truck to be not making money
i mean yeah, it will pull well irl
tag allows for reduced tyre wear
It was originallg an S730, another irl trucker advised me that a S650 would be a better idea for an all arounder since I could still pull loads yet ima get slightly better economy on highways
But a second and third opinion is always nice
@paper bear because of the lower rpm optimal torque?
i guess
How would you make an all arounder
Im sorry if I ask stupid questions
I'm eager to learn and have this defect
Of wanting the best
@dense kraken but 650 isnt horrible right
Thank you guys
Last nights hill adventures really got me wanting to get an 730
Or 750 if volvo
620 just got obliriated by the hills
Crawl gears?
It was an 100kmh zone
this is an 8x4
76 tonner
620 engine
And it still gave up to the hills
And axles dont make an diffence as long as you dont have too many
And x4 or x2 and dry conditions, same thing
I see

they are brothers
Almost, there are 10 missing and they are brothers yes ^^
They shouldnt when they arent steep
@chrome wharf Are they screens for the Rev counters?
Looks neat as standard.
the fancier version looks like this
Oooo
Yeah it's just the budget one. But i can't complain. If it was for my boss he would have pick a DAF with the old interior. What was way cheaper than this one.
I like the old DAF interior
I like the newer Scania interior more.
tbh i'm not a trucker, never been in an irl truck, just here to watch π
but i do like the new scanias
I'm getting one around week 46/47 I've heard

I live in the city where one of their factory is too
so I sometimes see some on transport trailers
Oi Mr Ginder boi who are you to even mention breaking stuff?
π€£
I am delivering across the road from Chicagoland Speedway. Really cool
Oooh!
Do you folks ever find being a trucker to be tough at any time (long hauls, waiting periods, vehicle problems, etc.), or is it an easier thing for you to do (and you'd rather not be doing anything else)? Just curious
It's like most jobs in this world, doesn't pay enough for the time you sacrifice to keep society rolling for the typical citizen and you're incredibly underappreciated.
id rather do this than anything else
but it doesnt mean its easy
if everything was easy, it would be boring
the fact that it can be a challenge makes it more enjoyable in the end. atleast to me.
theres easier ways to get bread on your table
So you should consider twice if wanting to become one
It's definitely no easy feat. Especially not in other parts of the world. In the U.S I'd say we have it made, but trucking in the U.K, Finland, Ireland and Scandinavia must be an absolute workout. I tip my hat to you guys who run in those areas, and hope to join in one day.
I'm probably switching to flatbed soon because I'm tired of sitting around waiting for a load and searching far and wide for a trailer. Our trailers aren't assigned to us like our trucks are. I do wish that were the case, it would fix a LOT of wait time issues and help me make timely pick-ups instead of being late because I don't have an empty trailer. The reason they don't assign trailers is because someone else might need that load and you might have to trade with them. But things can be done to improve that, like making sure you swap with a truck whom is empty or going somewhere else and then reassigning their trailer to you.
I adore long hauls. In the U.S, unless you're up North, in the West or on the East Coast/in a big city, you're pretty much flying from A to B with little to no interruptions. I'm currently aiming to do 1,300 miles in three days, and then 1,800 more in four after that.
It's fun as hell but some days I start longing for my lady, and I also wish I could see my parents and grandparents more. I'm out for a month, maybe more, at a time.
It isn't just a job here. It's a lifestyle. And I'm sure that's how it is in other countries, too.
@brittle shale
Sorry all if I sounded like I wanted to become a trucker, I'm just kinda curious to hear the stories of you guys and try to get a sense of what it must be like
Has its ups and downs like any job I suppose
But not to brag or so but yeah there's more than one place up here that if you drive off the road you only do it once so to say and sadly the gov seems to think that sand during icy conditions is like gold and should not be used at all so it comes with some risks I'd say and I think it does wherever you are in the world, they risks are just different I suppose
Oh and one more thing, there's not much advancements to be made in this industry, at least not here so if you're looking for a job where you can advance trucking is the wrong branch as the furthest you can basically get is an office worker here and wouldn't really call it an advancement. Like if you were a pilot for example you'd advance in your company over the years giving you a rather substantial pay raise as you climb the ranks, nothing like that here when it comes to trucking so you'd basically earn the same amount when you're 25 as 55 and it's certainly not something to expect getting rich on...
Yuuup ^
What was the toughest delivery you ever had to make (time-wise, length-wise, the load you had, the situation you were in, etc.)?
the only thing is,
for advancement
theres so many branches you can go into with trucking, if you get bored of one side of it, you can switch to another industry and its like starting a new job again.
and for me theres advancement, maybe not too much in pay. but in experience and challenges, you cant just jump into the heavy haul side of things.
you need to prove yourself, and get experience in different parts of the industry to be able to jump on the big wagons
so for me, theres definately still things i would like to achieve
and that for me is motivation, if youre motivated and happy youve got the perfect job
That's very true. If you're not motivated and happy at your job, you won't ever really aim high and try your best.
Lucky I am home until Thursday
Thank God hahaha
Another semi burnt to the ground according to my C.B. got drivers saying "Get off now, Northbound! Get off now! Truck fire! You're gonna be stuck!"
I passed the exit just before everyone stopped big oof
Dam
Nice to see that the trucks seems to keep in their lane - on the right lane. In Germany, many trucks would use the second (and maybe third) lane too -_-
Big oof... Took a quick picture when I passed the incident. Dude lost everything. ;-;
Shiiit
Gotta keep an eye on things like engine temp and constantly check the coolant... I really hope it wasn't his fault and was a genuine accident so insurance pays out.
oh yeah the cab is completely gone
I hope he's alright
Looks like him in the black shirt on the right side of the trailer on his phone in the first picture
I'm betting he was fine but shaken up like crazy
All it needs is a little wax and she'll be brand new.
In all seriousness, hope the driver didn't obtain any injuries.
"Don't worry, cap'n, we'll buff out those scratches."
reference in poor taste, I'm sorry
Looks like it needs a bit of duct tape.
Sorry, not sorry.
Well the things that can't be fixed with some duct tape is broken beyond repair.
Flex tape! JonTron is on the case
π
A couple band-aids should do the trick
Had a fun little back
Had to back around the side of those trucks over there between them and the guardrail then 90 it to the left and land in my spot
Don't get to do this too often. I like a little challenge that isn't moving traffic once in a while.
I've been awake for 18 hours with 4 hours of sleep the night previous
I'm tired out of my mind and hope I can find a place to park
sounds fun
Tight manoeuvres? Welcome to caravan parks
Caravan park and 80+ ton is always an interesting day.
That looks like so much fun
It's a good day. Goes in quick.
ETS2 kids have it easy. Never need to clean their truck
why does the suspension seem so high, did you make it go up?
Yes we raised it to clean behind the wheels.
yeah, and I bet garbage trucks are the worse to clean
I've heard garbage trucks aren't bad if you wash them out after each load
Well basicly only the part where you load in the trash and then dump the trash will be really dirty and hard to clean. The rest you can basicly just lick clean how easy it will go off.
tipper waggons will be the worst
man ours have gotten into some state
and washing isnt hard jolli, but theres still a difference between someone who knows how to wash one and someone who doesnt
^^
Blue Beacon truck wash FTW
They washed my truck one night, and the next morning, the boss came over to the truck stop next door and did an inspection to make sure the truck was clean.
what's that?
by the looks of it i'd say a trailer to load grain trailer using air
Not far off
They're grain driers
About Β£60k each
They're made in Italy that's why they're crammed inside a curtain sider that's narrower than them π
Sam when do you get the pk 165
165π
π
Does it calculate its own chart when legs are half?
I also got it
Itβs fucked up
Mine works well imo
Mine also calculates the leg pressure so when it becomes underneath
Even though the leg is on the ground
It goes to 100*
Mine doesn't care if a legs lifted
%
Mine reduces everything
While nothing happens yet
But thats the diff in a hiab or palfinger
That's no good
Yeah I guess.
I do love this crane.
So smooth too
When doing multiple actions it doesn't just fall on its face and only do 1
Mine works smooth with 15t counterweight π
I hope a buyer comes fast for mine
So you get another one?
π how so?
why did you choose to work over the back? and not the side?
weight of the engine as counterweight?
engine really doesnt weigh much in the grand scheme of things. and even working off the side it still uses the whole truck as counter weight
well, half of it
all of it
anything behind the outriggers is counterweight
just when you extend the outriggers, its giving the counterweight more leverage
I wouldn't really argue with a crane operator on how a crane behaves/works just as I wouldn't argue with a surgeon on how that job works.
^this tbh
Dude it was more of a hint towards you statement before as as far as I know Disney here is also a crane operator.
some days im a crane op, some days im a driver. most days im both π
@paper bear there were some bushes beside the truck and over the side itβs the same distance cuz my legs come out 3m
And iβm not gonna stay on the edge
Ah right. Yours is a short artic unit makes sense.
@verbal cape
Why that offensive?
when was he offensive?
Yesterday, at 19:50PM (UTC+2)
ah, thought you meant in his last message π
How rood
@paper bear hiab is coming to check whatβs wrong with the chart
In a few weeks
I gotta set it up next week and check what it does and doesnβt with and without counterweight
is it a 100?
Parked near Iowa Speedway
Last week it was Chicagoland Speedway
Sorry, I like racing, so I get any picture I can of the racetracks I see
aint stupid if it works
How much would it cost to get a new one put on?
plz tell me you only did that at the dock and not on the road
It's just the dock π
The trailer is closed and sealed as I'm now sitting at my second drop waiting for them to unload me.
A picture from the first stop. Parked like crap
Here's the lot I was in. Yeah, the blue dot is where my cab sat. It wasn't built for a big boi
Oooh, an International
It looks weird from this angle
Probably because the drivers' side door is open
It's a pile of cheap hot garbage
It at least has a Cummins ISX 15 in it
I'm gonna get it washed in Cali when I'm visiting my lady.
looks like a day cab that was converted
If you could pick one brand and variant of truck for said brand (day cab, sleeper, other options, etc.), what would you choose, and why would you choose it?
2016 Freightliner Cascadia.
They're everywhere, they're easy to fix, cheap to get parts for, spacious, good looking, and I learned to drive a semi on a Cascadia.
I've wanted another one forever.
If I could have a show truck though, that'd be a Western Star 4900 EX Lowmax.
But just as a show truck.
@ocean jolt all American trucks are built as daycabs with sleeper "options"
They're always added on after the fact and customized to fit your specs.
yeah, just cheaper to make one cab, but then add the sleeper section of it after
Yuuup
kinda like what renault does with their chassis
damn
Gotta cut corners elsewhere
Oooh, the 4900EX looks like a very respectable truck, I like its boxy looks
what's the most expensive part of it
Yikes that's expensive
The most expensive part of this pile of shit is probably the frame. Maybe the engine.
I mean on the DEF system
This truck is honestly the worst thing I have ever dr- OH.
π
The Diesel Particulate Filter system associated with it.
If that goes, you have to install a whole new system.
And believe me, it will die.
yeah if it breaks it clogs up the cat
Our trucks would be more fuel efficient (By about 25%) and $30,000 cheaper without it.
I get 6.5MPG on average just driving in a straight line for 600 miles
I hate California :/
$30k just for that though, ouch
Yeah. Suddenly this $150,000 hunk of crap is a $180,000 hunk of crap
I had an older KW from 2014 that got 10MPG loaded.
Loaded to 83,000lbs mind you
that's pretty good
Yup.
Over the years the DEF system has been perfected to screw the pooch as far as fuel mileage goes.
And DEF itself is even worse for the environment than Diesel...
how does DEF impact the mpg if it's on the exhaust side?
The entire thing is a cash grabbing, virtue signaling scam.
Regens. The truck has to Regen to clear the filter, and it does that while moving. So it revs the nuts off of the engine and drinks fuel.
I wonder if they're purposely lowering the quality and life-spans on vehicles as a whole nowadays, so they break down quicker and people have to come back sooner and spend gobs of money
You're not wrong as far as I can tell. Everything these days is meant to be thrown away after two to five years. These big rigs we drive nowadays only last 500-750,000 miles.
Some break before they even get back to the company lots.
I've seen older Peterbilt and Kenworth trucks with 3,000,000 miles clocked and still kicking.
Yeah, I've noticed the drop in quality in household appliances (we're lucky if we get 3 years out of a new microwave when you could get 20+ out of older ones), and I'm beginning to hear about it now with newer vehicles
Somewhat off-topic, but I drive a 1998 Pontiac Sunfire (I posted an image of her in #car-talk ), and she has powered through just about everything that's been thrown at her, rain, snow, hail, or sun, and come out shining every time. Only this past month have I had car troubles. Meanwhile my family has suffered more issues with their newer vehicles than I have.
Maybe I got lucky, I dunno
But it seems to me these car manufacturers don't want people driving away with cars that won't need work for 15+ years, because there'll be no money in it for them
They want cars that break down every 6 months to a few years, so they can make gobs of money
Exactly

How do you get mods @thick cedar
Not stupid if it works.
@dense moss I use different modding sites for ETS2 and ATS. But, this really isn't the right channel. I recommend going down to the modding channels and asking for more information. I'm kind of tied up at the moment, otherwise I would help further.
Alright thanks man
@thick cedar I am in your area. Delivery in San Francisco area. Sleeping In Fernley, NV
Nice! I'll be in Sacramento from tomorrow until Saturday if you end up there.
@stable lynx
I could probably figure a stop in. Where at?
The Pilot off I-80. AKA the 49'ers truck stop. It's four hours free parking but $15 after that. @stable lynx
It's in Sac
I heard about that. I might be there.
What time will you be there?
@stable lynx hopefully before noon tomorrow
I'm in Manteca taking a 30 before I get to the drop and get unloaded
I'll be a few hours, just got to Lineage oof
In Manteca
God knows when they're gonna unload me but it's awesome to see someone somewhere I'll be!
They can't keep me detained for more than two hours or my company will charge them generously so I expect to be gone by 2:00
lol
Lol
doesnt look like it
Well the gravel would be under his trailer, it's just a small section of the back lot that isn't paved
But yeah... Looking at the picture you're super close to the building compared to where I park.
I park in the gluteal cleft of the lot so nobody bothers me and my lady
@stable lynx, I just thought of something.
ATS should have a "California" setting for the Tandems

It's directly in the center of the frame rails instead of all the way forward or all the way back
pic
Well I just slid my tandems back for the door... Sec
That black line is where they have to be in California
(The black line on the chrome frame beneath the reflective tape)
When I reset them later I'll show you, Capri
Illinois has a similar restriction, and Florida forces you to leave them all the way forward.
I think pretty much anywhere else allows you to move them freely to properly balance your cargo
12,000 on the two front tires (steers)
17,000 for each drive axle (or 34,000 for both)
17,000 for each tandem axle (or 34,000 for both)
How the drives and tandems are weighed depends entirely on the state. Wyoming weighs them individually.
Any higher than 12,000 up front and 17,000 on one rear axle will get you an overweight ticket.
Even if you gross less than 80,000lbs total
π my steers can take more than your drive axles, whats that all about
The DOT not knowing how to build roads
The weight limits are set based on the roads we drive on.
They crumble and fall apart almost every two years. And they blame semi trucks instead of snowplow drivers who scrape the roads to hell and back during the winter
Construction companies here are incompetent :/
well same happens here, after the winter usually the roads are in bit of a state, due to freeze/thaw
Plus if everything lasts forever they don't get the contract to fix it again should they build it right
I remember down South in Louisiana... It was five or six years between road construction projects because we really didn't need to fix anything
i read somewhere that america keeps their roads in shit qualityon purpose since it creates lots of jobs for unemployed people who can then work in a road crew
By the way, if our load limit was raised by just 10,000lbs, it would be almost impossible for box drivers like me to be overweight under the loads I carry
Yeah, that sounds accurate too Capri
"we need to fix the crumbling infrastructure"
Well how about we just build it right the first time?
aint america like billions in debt
Our newer cars are the same way.
Engineered to be a pain to work on and break out of warranty.
Trillions. I think it's slowly going down though
Last I checked it was... 20T?
lmao'
and meanwhile they pump billions in the millitary
just to earn back a few mil on "rescueing" countrys
and then plundering their oil

It's $22.6T
xd
Our Military budget is somewhere in the ballpark of... $900B?
Funnily enough I'm about to go into oilfield trucking.
Hauling frack sand off-road and on through Wyoming.
$2,400 a week.
Can't beat that with a wooden stick.
It's frack sand, so oil and such is mixed into it
The oilfield is a big ticket marketplace.
SO much money involved.
That's only four days of work, by the way. It's four days on and four days off
Yup.
I'll finally be able to go racing and build a proper trophy truck in my spare time
A friend and I are gonna rent a shop so we can work on our own cars
We plan on getting a lift, building a Dyno, the whole nine yards.
In Grand Junction, Colorado, there's a giant off-road park. Got a lot of plans for fun in the sun out there
Woa
Yeee
Things are starting to look up again.
Maybe I'll have a down payment for a house in three years after all.
Perhaps I'll buy a big rig instead...
I'm still undecided on making Pegasus Express a reality.
If I do make PE a reality, I'm buying a 20+yr old truck exempt from the emissions BS
I want nothing to do with DEF
Ye
I love my on board computer. Hasn't sent an update to the company in 2 days, then I finally get a connection. It updates and breaks itself all over again.
Drivertech
Oh god that's fawnceh
I believe it is a company owned product
I just realized I forgot my arrival call
OOOPS
Lol
Sent lmao
Mine does that for me
God I wish mine did that
It knows whether or not I have arrived because if I try to send it without being at the consignee (did that just to see what would happen with the approval of dispatch) it tossed it back to me and said "NOT ARRIVED AT STOP"
It has even done it to me AT the consignee before :/
Lol
Big fat gg
They are in the process of streamlining the arrival process. They still need to get the pickup #'s to work in the little popup
I'm gonna kick my shoes off, turn on my hotspot and fire up my laptop...
And one of these bastards will knock on my door.
I just know it
Oooh! That'll be nice
Maybe I'll clean instead... My truck is a wreck @~@
I can't look around at my floor.
I get anxious immediately.
Filth makes me squirm which is ironic because I'm lazy as hell
Lol
Those weights are some odd ones there
I currently have 17000 on my steer axle, 26455 on my drive axle, 18739 on my tag axle and 50044 split on my 3 trailer axles.
Looking at this btw maybe you 2 Muricans should get in touch with them?
Mm... I'd have to ask the company man. He should be okay with that though
A Cummins ISX 15 would be a nice addition to ATS
Yeah and would be something for you to brag about if it gets into the game like "hey that sound is recorded of off my truck"
Certainly would
wood in an interior does look good, a lot of people dont like it but im a fan
just little bits
This is after some cleaning.
Yes that black trashbag is what I use all week π
God these pictures are so huge, wtf? 7MB at minimum
Also, I too like the woodgrain stuff. Better than chrome. I hate interior chrome, the sun loves to hit it and bounce into my eyes
The chrome emblem on the center of my steering wheel is a massive source of greif for me
Where you at?
Still in Manteca. Lineage are taking forever :/
Go figure the company who ordered this load delivered is the same one receiving it and they're taking all day.
Yesterday the two stops I hit had me unloaded within half an hour each.
Oof
If you want to roll out, @stable lynx, feel free. It won't hurt my feelings if you need to roll.
You got a job to do same as I c:
I am parked for the night dude
In other news, I'm gonna pay to get Knight's truck washed for the first time since I've had it.
Getting some free money for sitting on my butt at a shipper because they detained me, so might as well
Oh! Sweet!
I did not know this c:
6 am tomorrow is when I roll
Ahhh, an early bird as well!
I run east coast time, so it was 4 am, and that is my normal time
Also, I have parked near the exit side, next to the fence.
sw00t
If you see Knight Refrigerated U26006 with trailer R51754 in tow, that's your guy
US Xpress new Freightliner Cascadia 03249
Oooh! Pretty
Finally docked and getting unloaded
Dude is so amused by my duct tape π
Lol
